Excuse me as I head to the hopper so I can puke my guts out.

1. To "lie" requires intent. One is not a liar if one is incorrect in good faith. Many people were wrong in this situation, both domestically and abroad. To label them liars is self-serving, unless you actually can read minds.
2. Just because something does not exist now, doesn't mean it never existed. In this case, the UN documented the existence of massive quantities of WMD after Gulf War I. Iraq was supposed to coordinate the disposal of those through the UN Inspection Team precisely for tracking purposes. They did not do that. They claimed they were destroyed, but never offered proof. What SHOULD concern people most is that there are large quantities of WMD that used to be in Iraq and now have proven not to be. Hopefully, they really were destroyed, but without proof, it is quite possible they were not, and are now in some unknown threat's hands.
That's how people should logically look at this. Unfortunately, politics on both sides generally does not allow it.
Bingo!
Those weapons simply did not disappear, nor were they destroyed. They're in Syria, or possibly even Iran. Anyone with half an ounce's worth of commn sense knows that.
Saddam thought he could survive this, so he had his baathist cousins next door take care of his toys for him.

Agreed. A park along the water doesn't cost a lot to build, and surely doesn't cost anything to tear down. It also isn't a constant empty reminder of wasted tax dollars. There is always demand for a nice park. Is there any demand in Buffalo for more housing along the waterfront? Take the $300m and knock down all the old vacant factories along the water and throughout Western NY and build parks. This is just another in a long line of spending disasters in the Buffalo area.
Parks cost money to be maintained, too.
They should have built a new stadium along the waterfront.

Neither Germany nor Japan were exceedingly democratic in nature. Hell, Germany had only been a democracy for what, 15-20 yeard before Hitler?
Italy I can see, though.

The Shiites (and I can't believe I'm saying this) God help them, would never let that happen. What I forsee is what should be....a Shiite dominated non-democratic country.
I am the first to admit that I was wrong about the capabilities of Iraqis in particular and Arabs in general to accept and embrace freedom. They were given a chance and turned to the same old same old....Terrorism. So yeah, we leave, they set up their own little muslim fiefdom, and we get to bomb the hell out of them for decades to come.
All because the average Iraqi didn't have the guts or brains to appreciate freedom.

Maybe he turned them into magic beans. There are a hundred different scenarios one can imagine that would explain the vanishing WMD's. Without proof however, you are into Area 51 territory. They have been looking for proof of just what you suggest and, I beleive, come up entirely empty. Besides, these people aren't known for their restraint. If they had them, God help us, they would use them.
In your enlightened view, what are the odds they're in Syria?

If you knew anything at all (and I mean ANYTHING) about the Republican Party you would know that we aren't against raising taxes. Reagan was responsible for THE LARGEST TAX INCREASE IN US HISTORY. He raised taxes 5 different times between 80-88.
Like I said I'm a Reagan Republican not a Bush Republican.
That's rich. Funny how Reagan authored the single largest TAX CUT in US history as well.
One of the CENTRAL platforms of the Republican party is cutting taxes and smaller government.
I'm beginning to think that you're a Reagan DEMOCRAT.
There is a big difference.
You actually advocated a tax of 1.8% some-odd percentof our GDP. Are you INSANE?!? Do you realize how HUGE a number that is and what a crippling effect it would have on our economy?
What is NOT needed is tax raises. What IS needed is a reduction in government programs (Dept of Ed, OSHA, EPA, Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, etc... etc...)

I had the same thought, only didn't dare say it.
I worked with a kid at Wegmans who was dating a girl in the store. I use the term loosely, it should read "stalking". This girl was freaked out, even asking me to talk to him. My response was "no way," but I did get the whole department calling him "Norman".

Yeah, when pigs fly.
They can't even build a new peace bridge but somehow this thing is gonna get built?

Talonz,
Please keep telling us about your losses. I like others, found it very interesting and motivating. You are dead on about the running shoes - The Beast by Brooks is or has been one of the top rated running shoes for larger people by Consumer Reports. Tell me your life situation now. Are you single with a ton of time on your hands or you like the majority and slammed with family and work committments??? If you are married with kids I give you even more credit. I am fighting that lazy factor lately and can't keep following through with my exercise plan. At the moment, I mentally can not give exercise too much attention. What caused you to make this life change?? Are you grouped with other people for support and running partners??? Above all else, keep it up. Go to a gym and lift a 60lb dumb bell and think that you were carrying that around you for along period of time.
It's always easier for me to eat right than exercise. Being a former military man, I'm used to working out in the AM. But with a toddler to get ready for school each morning, I now find that I am going to have to work out at lunch. It's going to be hard to adjust but it HAS to be done. My family has a history of diabetes and I do NOT want that to be me.

About 4 months ago I posted I had lost about 30 lbs...
I am here to announce that about 9 months after starting to RUN nightly that I am past the 60 lb mark ( 63 to be exact ).
This is what I have found out so far:
Fad diets are a WASTE . Cut down your damn portions and you can still enjoy pizza, ice cream, etc. I did stop Mc. D's and the like all together.. YUCK ..SHHITT food.
Exercise is a MUST - I started walking about .5 miles a night. I kept building up speed, distance, then back to speed. I now run AT LEAST 3 miles a night, 5-6 days a week. I run in the snow, wind , rain, everything! When the weather breaks I will go back to my routine of 6 miles x 6 days a week. I can do 3 miles in crap weather in about 32 minutes - 6 miles during good weather right at about an hour.
STOP DRINKING POP!! I drank 5-8 Cokes/Pepsis a day. I am down to 1 a day during dinner, 2 on the weekends.
Propel water by Gatorade - A life saver - Tastes GREAT and is on 20 calories for 16.9 OZ !
Get the BEST running shoes you possibly can. I almost destroyed my joints the first few weeks before I discovered NIKE SHOX. A PERFECT shoe for those of us that are heavy up top
Get a good MP3 player - I killed my first Rio now I have moved up to the Creative Zen Micro...I BLAST music while running so I don't think about what I am doing
Mind over matter.
Anyways, my goal is 100 lbs and I plan to hit it late spring - I will post my before / after pictures
Anways, I am off
Thanks man...You're an inspiration to all us fat fukkers.

What kind of Republican advocates raising taxes?
I smell a Democrat.

What everyone seems to be forgetting is that, theoretically at least, that is not a call that is the US's to make. Both the US and British governments have stated that they will withdraw their troops if requested by the Iraqi government. If, after the election, the government calls for an end to the occupation (and Sistani's party which almost certainly will win most seats has, as one of it's policies, the setting of a firm timetable for this) then that should be that.
Good. And then we can lett the Sunnis kill their fellow countrymen rather than us. Ingrates. I sincerely hope they experience a mass slaughter at the hands of the Shiites after we leave. That would be their ultimate reward.

Actually, you aren't too far off with that, and I don't know if you meant it like that. The relationship between Jenneh and Forrest was similar, i.e. a girl who needed "bad boys" to mistreat her to feel loved and a guy who was safe (albeit it "not a smart man") who loved her, but she didn't reciprocate until later. And then she got AIDS and died, and that was sad.
I hated Jenny. To me, she was the WORST movie villain ever. Here this guy keeps on loving her unconditionally and she acts like a....well, like a woman!!
-
Here's my advice. Don't waste your time with this head-case. It's obvious she is a mess, there are a lot of women like that. Go find yourself a woman that knows what she wants and be done with it.
I did, and I'm much happier in life for it.

If this farg thinks it's hard NOW imagine when it DOES go kaput...right in the middle of when I would be collecting.
So tell me again why I should care what blue-hairs now need when MY future is at stake?
See why Social Security's a mess, Losman-McGahee-Evans? It's a mess because it was ill-conceived to begin with!

I'm guessing you never actually *watched* the show, and are basing your comments on either the movie (which was terrible) or the title.

But yeah, the show sucked
CW
Since when do critics know anything?
90% of critically acclaimed TV series get s-canned. (Including HOMICIDE, which was one of my favorite TV series EVER).
And fans? Well, of course fans are going to go ga-ga when they're teeny-boppers!

"Why stir up a political hornet's nest .... when there is no urgency?" said Rep. Rob Simmons (Conn.), who represents a competitive district. "When does the program go belly up? 2042. I will be dead by then"
Eary predictions for next year.

I'm going WAAAAAY out on a limb, I know, but our "heroes" are destined for a .500ish season again next year. No way we beat either the Pats or Jets next year.
As an aside...Squeelers aren't making it to the Bowl.
