Well if you look at 2013 to now, it doesn't look great for Whaley. It doesn't look downright awful either, even if we bottom out this season. But I'd be hard-pressed to call his regime a resounding success and definitely worthy of more time.

Honest question, because you may differ from me in this respect. Do you think the Pegulas will take into account Whaley's years before they became owners? IE Do you think they will look at 13 and 14?

The environment sucks. If it doesn't want to get dominated by humans, it should evolve and get better at defending itself. I'm not gonna do it any favors.

I actually like most of the things Whaley has done, and I wouldn't like losing an above average GM who has made some big mistakes for an unknown. But I think his diminished role will be reporting to a football czar/consultant type along with Rex, if Whaley does stay. He won't be the head honcho in the football ops department IMO. And the Pegulas can't be fired. However, I reject the notion that the Pegulas automatically know what they're doing running this team. Luckily, you don't get to where they are without self-assessment, and I have the utmost confidence they won't repeat mistakes.

He owns the team. However, Terry and Kim should realize they aren't football people, and their personal opinions don't hold much weight.

I just don't envision a scenario where we miss the playoffs after pouring assets on this team and Whaley is still the head honcho in football ops. Working relationship or no.
