  1. I've gone back and forth on this and I've concluded that while RR played a part in bringing Tyrod here, I'm not entirely convinced he deserves full credit or even the majority for bring TT in. RR got to 8-8 riding Roman and our new offensive FA and draft acquisitions (basically Whaley).
  2. The failings of both offense and defense fall on HC. Rex ain't a DC anymore. This isn't game-time playcalling, it's a fundamental issue that's been racking us since day one, or close to it. A good HC would get it fixed IMO. Or at least, get some improvement. That's the major problem with Rex IMO. He's a glorified DC. I know most HC's are either defensive or offensive guys, but that doesn't leave them blameless on the other side of the ball. Payton doesn't get a pass when Rob Ryan murders his defense.
  3. Because coaching isn't just offense and defense. It's conduct, clock management etc etc. He's never been good at any of those things. The offense appears to be an aberration (not that I won't hold out for aberrations everywhere). I don't believe anything is "likely" right now with Rex. He'll either find some scrap heap players who can execute his complex scheme and succeed or he won't and will fail yet again.
  4. Rex has always been a bumbling buffoon regarding everything but his defenses. He rightfully deserves criticism when literally his only positive is gone.
  5. Similar situation with Cockrell right now.
  6. Schefter and Mort are too busy enjoying Dominoes on New Years Eve to bother.
  7. Is that why you mentioned him twice in the title and OP?
  8. If only they measured careers by half of a season.
  9. Ian Rapoport ‏@RapSheet 3m3 minutes ago The #Bucs have fired Lovie Smith. Josina Anderson ‏@JosinaAnderson 3m3 minutes ago The #Bucs have fired Lovie Smith, per the team.
  10. I'm agreeing with you pal.
  11. By wins and losses against common opponents.
  12. That's a different argument entirely. I just think they're better than us. I don't think we'll sweep them next year. Both are concerns to our playoff chances if they have better records than us.
  13. I'll go with a push, pending next season.
  14. Fitz is going back. And right. But they didn't get those holes by winning more games, is my point. I don't know if that's what you were trying to say.
  15. Winning two more games than the Bills didn't give them a roster with more holes. And that's very debatable. Mo Wilk may very well stay there with his broken leg. And while they will be picking two spots behind Buffalo, I know you are quite aware that the draft is a crapshoot. If the Bills board and Jets board are exactly the same? Yes, the Bills have an advantage. However, it probably won't be. And we all know that picking higher guarantees nothing. So while that's a disadvantage, it's slight enough to make no matter. Here's what the Jets have as a positive. They split with a hated division rival. They have a QB and HC combo that just led them to their first winning season in what, 6 years? They are on the right track to building a winning culture and competing with NE. And that's really all that matters.
  16. Wait what? They didn't beat us in common opponents? Didn't they beat the Giants and Jags? And Redskins? In fact, their only loss to common opponent was Houston.
  17. I have never held the opinion you're pretending I did. I have actively railed against that opinion since Week 17, 2014. You may love fake revisionist history, but I love someone who falsely attributes an opinion to me much, much more. Yes, I think they would've won that game. We were dominating at half. However, it doesn't matter. Either all the games matter, or we can "pick" at every schedule. Does the win against the Cowboys really count, when half their team was hurt and they're playing a 5th string QB, and they have starters missing, and they've been eliminated for weeks? It looks more like 7-9 for the 2015 Bills, because I doubt we beat the full Cowboys squad. You are what your record says you are. And we went 9-7.
  18. Disagree. Rex and Whaley sold themselves on being "this close," IMO. They have to deliver to save their jobs.
  19. I have indications that Urbik was a malcontent.
