  3. Misery for years! http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000612634/article/buffalo-bills-confirm-rex-ryan-doug-whaley-will-stay Read this and tell me Doug Whaley didn't hire Rex.
  4. But Whaley gave it his vote of confidence from the football side. AKA the deal-breaking side.
  5. -So, even though this year is considered a total failure, and a huge part of hiring Rex was to make a splash and not have his first year be a total failure, it may be considered a good hire, because it's next year now? That's an argument made on hope while ignoring 5 years of history. Not one I'd make, but you're welcome to it. -It appeared as though that's what you were saying in your post below. If not, I don't understand what you were trying to say. -So hope and ignoring 5 years of history it is. Okay. Let's hope you're right, but I highly doubt it. So next time you tell me I'm only right because I was being negative, we'll pull this one up, okay? Because from where I'm sitting, you'll be wrong by virtue of being positive against all odds.
  6. He played 3 games in STL, and 13 in one year in Cincy. At best, you could argue he had 2 years starting experience before Buffalo. So the expectation was by his 5th year he should drag the 32nd ranked D and the Donald Jones crew to the postseason? Okay, so how many years does TT get to prove he can carry a bad defense before you cut bait?
  7. -Rex Ryan wasn't hired to have a year of rebuilding. If the assumption was the RR and Whaley would need a year to get on the same page, it was a lie. If it wasn't, it was a failure. -I never said he wasn't a problem, but he wasn't the only problem, as you seem to believe. -Yes it does. As I alluded to before, RR was hired to "win now." Not to rebuild a defense. Not to have growing pains.
  8. How many years of "starting" did Fitz have before Buffalo?
  9. Basically. I was robbed. Oh you. -How well can they be working together when the defense Whaley built has been broken by Rex? -There's no way Mario was the problem, everyone had down years except our CB's and Manny -If you do an extensive search and still hire a bad HC, how is that better? You were still wrong.
  10. Never ever admit you are wrong. FireChan words of wisdom.
  11. The same excuses for TT are the same ones for Fitz. Like it or not, a depleted WR group and weak defense is what kept us out of the postseason this year, same as the Fitz era in Buffalo. Taylor has had 5 years in the NFL.
  12. If not carrying a team to the playoffs is your criteria for cutting a QB, I guess Taylor is on your chopping block.
  13. I do remember having some heated debates with you on the subject, and yes, you were right in that regard (so far). But don't tell me you weren't a little nervous after that week 16 Pats game.
  14. Either let go or promote someone over him and RR. I loathe the organizational set-up right now. Both Rex and Whaley independently reporting to Pegs is not ideal. It's a tough situation because I wouldn't have put myself into it to begin with, so it's hard to say how to move forward. Either you force Rex onto a GM/czar type (again, not ideal) or you have this disjointed mess. I don't believe that Whaley is happy with how the defense he has basically built (along with Buddy) has been rendered ineffective. I believe in the reports that there is organizational friction on Mario and some other defensive players. However, I believe Whaley wanted Rex here and played a fundamental role in his hiring. That's a contentious point to many, but operating under that assumption, I fire Whaley for such an egregious error, and I try to hire someone happy with Rex.
  15. -Really? How many DE's, S's and CB's did RR's GM in NY draft for him? Do you really think Rex had nothing to do with the Milliner bust or the Richardson pick? We can agree to disagree here, mostly because I don't want to hijack another thread on this, or appear as though I'm crusading. I will close with the GM/HC disagreements in NY is far overblown IMO, and didn't even become a narrative until they went 4-12 last year. -Okay. He didn't throw a TO at the worst possible time when he beat the Pats in OT with an almost flawless drive. He's not great, but he had some success with a strong D and good WR's. Which was my original argument. Also, the rest of his team played like crap in week 17 against us. Again, agree to disagree, but most of the peanut gallery were saying he would never win more than 6 games ever. They were definitely wrong, which was my original point. I'm pretty close to correct IMO.
  16. And that's fine. Spiller as "garbage" may be a little harsh. He's a super-limited gadget player with bad vision, constantly poor decision-making, and few strengths. In fact, I postulated that CJ Spiller would be one of the worst RB's in the league once he loses some speed as he approaches 30. That's certainly bad, if not garbage. Boyst would win. I may have an ego, but Boyst thinks he could open field tackle Marshawn. Bananas.
  17. -It's been 5 years since Rex Ryan has posted a winning record. -Fitz went 10-6 and will get another decent deal. He also had a career year. How does him losing one game invalidate what I said? -It doesn't make me right, it correlates.
  18. I don't always fall on the negative side. I usually just fall on the correct side, which happens to coincide with a negative.
  19. Not really. Then again, I don't discount my argument because it's unpopular, or because the peanut gallery and their never ending guerrilla campaign don't like it. But what else is new? Few were on my "side" when I said Spiller was garbage and would never come close to replicating his 2012 season. Few were on my "side" when I said Rex was a crap HC when he was hired on the Bills (even though many held that opinion when he was on the sinking ship in NY). Few were on my side when I said that Ryan Fitzpatrick failed in Buffalo mostly because he had a horrific defense and terrible WR's. So I don't really care. In my opinion, disagreeing with the group-think on this board only lends credence to my arguments. Time will tell if DW finishes up his "long-term deal." I'll bet not. And when the new GM comes in and has a couple moves suck, and I say he's not that good, and you dig in to disagree with anyone who slights your boy, you'll have forgotten about this debate. I guess that's the common thread, huh? Short-term memories.
  20. Yeah, I've been dead wrong about a ton of Bills stuff😄
  21. I absolutely can. It's not my job to do what Whaley does. If it was, I'd rightfully be blasted for not taking Bryant.
  22. Oh man, called out by his QB and only 200 more yards as a #2? Not even worth it. Thank god Cockrell was there. Maybe the guy whose job it is to do that could.
