Forbes Magazine - Bills Most Troubled Franchise in the NFL
Joe W replied to Booger's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Answers: 1. Equivalent to tarping another 9000 seats 2. Los Angeles - Rose bowl or Coliseum until new stadium is built, NFL teams have a one month window in Jan 2013 to state if they are going to move there for the 2013 season, coincidently the Bills lease is expired then. -

You miss the point, this has nothing to do with revenue and everything to do with tickets to sell and fan support. If you can't see it theres no use me trying to explain it to you. Revenue is a whole other story. That $10 million / game is long gone, Rogers is probably offering Brandon around $4 million to attempt to break even or try to recoup what they've lost on the series. -

You miss the point, the Bills only play 7 Home Games Brandon only has to sell 530,000 tickets - this is equivalent to tarping 9,000 seats. That the Bills have blackouts with this few seats to sell contributes to the "most troubled franchise" statement -

It's simple the Bills play one less home game than the rest of the league, divide the stadium capacity 73000 by 8 and you've decreased the number of tickets you have to sell - 9K+ per game. If ogrs decides to renew the Toronto series the amount they'll pay the Bills will be half what they're paying now - bank on it. -

The Bills playing a game in Toronto is equivalent to tarping 9000 seats per game. The Forbes description is right and Bills fans have to cometo grips that this could be their last season in Buffalo -
Former Ravens owner Art Modell has passed away.
Joe W replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Modell's story, like O'Malley's, is a lot more complicated than it's made out to be. Modelll gave Cleveland officials many opportunities to do somethong about their stadium, but the politicians never did anything, so he moved them. Ralph's legacy will be determined by if Mrs. Ralph and her step-daughters take the much higher LA bid on the Bills or do they give a "home-town discount" to a local ownership group. The difference in bids will probably at least $300 million. FYI, by all public indications Pegula is signaling that he's not interested in bidding for them. -
Got nothing to worry about. Wawrow said that since Cuomo hired a high priced lawyer to advise him, everything is rosy. Yeah right, there's no lease to hold them here if Wilson dies. The NFL relocation fee will be recouped in hosting Super Bowl, increased revcenue etc etc Everyone better hope he recovers long enough to sign a lease.

Why Your Team Sucks 2012: Buffalo Bills
Joe W replied to QB Bills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't understand the apologists for Brandin and Rogers. Rogers contracted to host that pre-season game, if Brandin had any stones he would have told them to schedule any events around the Bills game. The first preseason could have been played there without any conflict !! Does anyone realize it costs Erie County $900K in game day and secuirty expense for a Bills game and the cost for this game was avoidable. That no one knows or cares contributes to Buffalo being the third poorest city in the US. -

Why Your Team Sucks 2012: Buffalo Bills

Okaaaay your point is what? Springsteen has a long tour with a lot of people working for him so the Bills should just roll over for him ? Look branden rolled over and take a hard one from Rogers. they're now in the drivers seat after having taken a bath on this series and now they're playing hardball w brandin. Read through that deadpan piece alot of it apPlies to this situation and the bills business practices in general -
Why Your Team Sucks 2012: Buffalo Bills
Joe W replied to QB Bills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Gotta admit it's pretty funny and a lot of it especially about Wilson is spot on. btw j dub ever find out the real reasons why that preseason travesty was played in orchard park ? nah I didn't think you would. Joe dub -
A poser ? Youre the one who who doesn't even know when in practical terms the lease ends You got to do some homework dude else you just reveal yourself as a fake journalist. Like I said you guys who cover the Bills should be fearful about your jobs past this season just don't take it out on the messenger Your supposed to be a journalist ask Brandon these questions about Rogers and the lease I know Jim Heaney would. Brad Smith is the third quarterback BTW
-
Wow now I know that you don't know what you're talking about. That is a really dumb statement about the end of the lease term Yes it expires in July 31 but for practical purposes it expires as soon as the Jets game ends. You are aware that it could always be terminated in February for the last 10 years, now it can be terminated without a fee. Big deal that Cuomo hired some over priced lawyer - it just goes to show that these things are at a standstill even though Cuomo hired this guy itll do nothing to change the statewide opposition to spending 220 million on a seldom used stadium housing perennial a loser - that's just the facts. I could care less who your source on Springsteen is just look at those facts on all the open dates. Ask Brandon or don't you have access to him ? Look the situation is dire, if the team is bad again there will be little public support for the subsidies they're asking for. I can see where you're hoping for the best as your job is gone if they leave but don't attack me for being the messenger I'll say it again if this 94 year old owner dies and there's no lease tieing them here they are gone and from what I see they're a long way away from any type of agreement What happened to the MOU by the end of training camp ? Do some journalism on the business side rather than figuring out who the sixth wide recover will be !
-
OK, we'll agree to disagree. My facts there were / are a lot of open dates at the Rogers Centre in August that they could have played a preseason game, that they didn't tells me that something is up. We're four months away from the lease expiring and the 1 month window for announcing intentions to move to Los Angeles. Both Rogers and Erie County lease negioations appear to be at a severe stand-still right now. Bills fans have to hope that Wilson lives until a lease is signed, if that doesn't happen all bets are off. Ask Brandon about my allegations, like I've said its all intertwined and the franchise is entering the danger zone for its Buffalo existance. Guys like you and Graham have to pay close attention to this business side of things not who's going to be the sixth WR to make the team. And when you talk to Schopp tell him to take some economic classes, then he'll be able to understand why a jar of olives are $1.78. TYVM

1. Who else would you get it from? Ralph? I got it from Brandon, he stammered on aboout it in the winter. 2. Pulitzer ? Obviously just for shock value from an internet poster. 3. I love olives, especially green ones on pizza; Blue cheese stuffed ones in Martinis. 4. The approval is bureaucratic formality what is oof interest is if Roger's goes ahead and continues the series and what cost to them; obviously much less than $78 million, look for it to be cut in half - less than $5 miil / game. 5. The devil is always in the details. 6. Just because they've shown an interest doesn't mean it'll get consumated. 7. No terrible on Pizza; don't put pineapple in Jello either - it won't jell ! 8. Find that hard to believe; the people at Rogers who handle the Bills negotiations are totally different than the one's who handle programming. Ropgers is waiting to see how this year's game goes and if the Bills look like they'll stink for the next 5 years. They obviously took a bath on this current agreement. 9. I'm up past my bedtime. 10. Yes, all over one game. Ask Brandon, part of the disappointing season ticket numbers can be traced to the fact that there was an extra pereseason game in the ticket package. Rogers obviously played hardball with him and forced him to announce a non-existant schedule conflict forcing him to take the game back. Call it my theory but it sure looks that way to me. Unfortunately all this is intertwined, what happens with Rogers impacts the lease negotiations and I am fearfull with no lease in place and Wilson dies (He is 94) this franchise is a goner. Well enough of my internet rant besides my Mom says I have to get off the basement computer. Good night now zzzzzzz JW

Unbelievable that you call yourself a journalist and accept the pablum that Brandon tells you at face value. The fact remains that there were lots of open dates that a preseason game could have been played there. DO YOUR JOB ! ask Brandon what the real story is and next ask him if Rogers is paying for a game they're not hosting as well ask if Rogers is actually renewing and at what price. If he puts forth a convincing argument I'll admit I'm wrong. Is easy to dismiss internet posts as just rants. Be a real journalist, maybe you'll win a pulitzer for it. GOOD NIGHT NOW. JW
-
Believe what I want ? It's clear as day that Brandon is lying, there was/is no scheduling conflict and if you believe otherwise I have a signature Peace Bridge I'd like to sell you. Roger's steamrolled him into taking the game back Ask him the next time you interview him, if says otherwise he's doubly a bald-faced liar.. Who cares if its off-topic, this isn't rocket science And with that, GOOD NIGHT NOW. JW
-
Hmm tonight is also available there, if "The Boss" concert is on Fri you play on Sat and vice versa. The Sunday nonsense is just that - nonsense. Don't believe Brandon's double-speak, when you see him ask if Rogers pays for this game and ask him what the status of Roger's renewal of the series is. JW
-
It obviously would be a PR nightmare, that's why theyre "papering the house" like Rogers does with the games they host. Brandon probably asked their advice on how to do it. And no I do NOT believe Branden is the Prince of Darkness. A liar, an idiot and the worst GM in NFL history is what I believe he is. JW

Pretty close to declaring the 2010 draft a complete bust - I'll wait until Carrington gets cut. Nix should have let his GM predecessor, Rus Brandon, make the draft picks. He couldn't have done much worse. JW
