  1. 1 to insist that it's the socket, not the bulb. Yet another to insist it's the breaker (despite the fact that everything else on the circuit works), and yet another to insist the whole house needs re-wired. Oh, and 1 to blame JP.
  2. Bottom line: Any good move made by the organization (even in retrospect) is the result of "TD's guys" still being there. Any bad move made is completely Marv's fault...but let's not be one-sided here.
  3. Yeah, to be fair the Bills have a assembled a 2-2 record so far by replacing only 22 TD-signed players. Just a tweak.
  4. Or, to put it another way, if you're looking for a way for your fanbase to feel grateful that Matt Millen is calling the shots...
  5. Sorry, a "statement game" over a heavy favorite far exceeds foolish pride in my opinion. Bills over Bears.
  6. 200- 100 to sit around and curse the darkness. 203- 3 to declare the new bulb a bust before it's even turned on.
  7. Add to that folks who are collecting money for parking spaces that don't work for the company any more (happened to the folks in the RV that my in-laws tail-gate with...lot 6). When the "true" folks came around to collect, the folks in the RV showed the receipt they received, signed by said former employee...To their credit, they did not even ask the RV folks to pay again....
  8. Congrats. Only need one post to see that you need added to my growing ignore list. I think that's a record.
  9. Are the actions the department took outside the bounds of University guidelines? Does the University have an ombuds office or other unofficial/non-formal/confidential means to address the situation? Sounds like there's a really unhealthy work environment there and it's in the University's best interest to understand what is really happening within that department. Maybe they don't have such a program (I do realize that academia is far different than the private sector in a lot of ways), but it's worth checking into. Sometimes you don't know such things exist unless you look...
  10. You know, of all the words for a lawyer to mis-spell.... I try to avoid doing this but the irony was killin' me...
  11. JJ had that rare opportunity (thanks to the Herschel Walker trade) to "be a college coach at the NFL level" when he coached the Cowboys. In other words, he was able to build a "Jimmy Johnson team" really quickly with 6 extra draft picks. Note his relative lack of success later with the Dolphins...
  12. Simple solution: mandatory seatbelts on every seat. Game won't start until all belts are buckled and belts won't unbuckle until the game is over. Solves both the problems of fans leaving early and people standing up.
  13. No, you're the one clinging. Losman could go 99 for 100 and the one incompletion would be the worst pass ever thrown by a QB and a throw that's impossible for an NFL-calibre QB to throw. At least Holcomb's Arm is amusing. You're just pathetic. Welcome to my ignore list.
  14. I've heard someone say there were 20K empty seats at the end of the game. I'm just saying I'd rather there be X number of empty seats at the end of the game (people leaving early) than X number of empty seats at the beginning of the same (unsold seats).
  15. Your question pretty much answers itself. It's a sign that the Bills are actually moving the ball before they have to punt. A ton of punts between the 40's == much shorter field to work with as a punter. Touchbacks take 20 yards off your net. Yesterday seemed to hurt too...both punters had problems with the wind.
  16. I think the regionalization of the franchise may have something to do with it. Fans traveling longer distances to the games == fans in a greater hurry to get a start home. In both cases the games were over.... I'd be more concerned with 20,000 empty seats at the beginning of the game then at the end. You pay your $50, you decide when you've received your $50 worth (or not). With the NFL working hard to take the home crowd out of the game more and more, what's the worry about whether fans stay 'til the bitter end?
  17. Generally, all I'm saying is that the * goes next to his name in the "#1 in yards" spot until the number of games played evens out. And generally, when it comes to heavy volumes of carries, you always have to worry about a back tiring out. We'll see how much that "away from the team conditioning" holds up...Not saying it won't, just playing devil's advocate.
  18. At least through the bye week, though he is still in 4th for Yards/Game. I expect he'll stay up there by sheer volume of carries alone.
  19. Thing is, it seems to me that Marv has been on WGR more times since he started as GM than TD was on during his entire reign. Again, the enmity between TD and WGR was clear, and it seems WGR has much more access now to Bills' employees at all levels than they did when TD was running things. It's just obvious that with the broadcast rights (as 97 rock has) comes perks like preference for when Bills' employess are on-air etc. Again, not that I think WGR is the be-all end-all, just the facts as I see them.
  20. So, do you think he'd have enough left in the tank for tomorrow if we happened to sign him?
  21. Really? So why was San Diego drafting his replacement in 2004? Yes it takes good coaching. Coaching that recognizes the limitations of your players and works with those limitations to put in a solid game plan. Coaching that puts a young QB in a position to make fewer, higher percentage throws and letting the rest of his capable offense (including a very good o-line) support him during his development. No, the Steelers win because he's been put in a position to make said smart plays. See, I'm not saying that. I'm saying that the rare QB's that are successful early are not just successful because of "pure talent" on the QB's part.
