Home Remedy For My Dog: Update - RIP Chloe
ExiledInIllinois replied to Gugny's topic in Off the Wall
My neighbor's dog is a pit mix. I got his key. When he's not home, I go over and feed her. I got great neighbor's. Both sides of me. We have each other's keys to keep an eye on things when we aren't home. They watch our cats when we travel. It's the derelict owners that are a problem. -
Anyone want a bottle of 23Year Pappy?
ExiledInIllinois replied to plenzmd1's topic in Off the Wall Archives
LoL... It was the game weekends when Plenz was in town... I could have easily "screwed up" and brought it to tailgate. LoL... That nice little bag. I could have put empty bottle back, cinched it and got the hell on the highway back to Illinois before my Bro ever noticed! Make up for the time he trapped me in a stinky bathroom when I was 10... And I couldn't reach the window! (really high casement windows in that house /smh). Let's just say Mom wasn't pleased with the antics of My Brother tormenting his 4 year his junior brother (Me). 41 years later... Could have finally got even! Investment. My Bro... I don't think he was going to drink it. At under $2k, if it goes up, sell the Muthaph.... er! Heck, I'd take $500 profit! /smh -

No. But, don't take my word for it. Now... I have an apple tree already busted. I hope it doesn't fall on neighbor's fence. I was planning on clearing when weather breaks for spring. -

This past Fall when I came into town, my Brother said he happened to see a bottle in the liquor store. He snapped it up for a just under 2 Grand. When he went to Portugal for the week, I was watching my Father. My Bro said: "You can drink any bottle here, but don't open The Pappy." LoL... Boy that would be a bad mistake. -

Jussie Smallette (Alleged) Self Inflicted Hoax Assault
ExiledInIllinois replied to RaoulDuke79's topic in Off the Wall
Because it was -20 below. That sh... Kinda stuns a person, especially when they are trying to pull off a hoax. What drama queens. Yeah, and straight people are so uneventful. That ain't a dig on being gay, but more so a slam on the over-the-top lifestyle. Show your phone Dude. Or was Grindr stuck on Autopilot on a cold winter night. People are so effing weird and the media eats it up. -

We were @ the mall yesterday (really? Do people actually go to the mall anymore? Apparently so!) and saw this... I flashed to my Good Pal Teddy! Such FakeNews©! Pure propaganda... More like "steal your throats after your crackhead neighbor didn't repair the fence"... ...J/K... Enjoy. LoL... -

I am so sorry for your pain. Now if you take that question to the "Stump EiL" Thread... I will take my best swing at answering it. This is not the time and place. Again, so sorry... All the hugs and prayers! -
Under/=$20. That has been the acceptable Federally ethically amount for years. But that's change... Since 2016. There is a new sheriff in town with the Executive Branch. Honestly... The "New Swamp" threw those ethics out the window. I think it's much more than $20 bucks now gift and or cash... I want to say it's in the $100s? We used to take DoD "ethics training" every year. Come to think of it... Last time was around 2016. Strange. Farthest distance I every had a vessel come from was from Finland. A sailing vessel from Helsinki. That's pretty damn close to Russia... And I am looking to score a tip with these new "non-existant" ethic rules and amounts! If you get my drift! LoL... I might make bank... ??

I assume... Erie Canal... Which is a State job. I was seasonal until they got made permanent in early 1990s. We just stay open. They used to furlough, then bring people back on over time! /smh Just recently... Numbers game, one FTE (Full-Time Employee), the NFG is seasonal until a newer guy comes in. But, that NFG is never furloughed. First few years as hydrographic surveyor with Corps, we were furloughed... I Worked as Ski Instructor @ KB. Geesh... I was out to dinner with family... LoL... Anybody know what the sharpest thing in the world is? Okay... All You Brainiacs, step up to the plate!

Gotta try better counsel... I am not that much of a dummy. I dove. Do they get the bends? Do they expell air from their swim bladders? That's my stab in dark guess. Lakers are a very deep swimming fish. It has to do with pressure changes I would think. I don't know. Lake trout in Lake Michigan were wiped out by sea lamprey and pollution in the 1950s & 60's... We have introduced Northwest Pacific salmon now. /smh. Okay... I will look up to see if they get the bends. Yep. Lakers are a "ductless species." https://www.outdoorcanada.ca/are-lake-trout-releasable/ "...Indeed, the best indication of all that lake trout can tolerate and readily adjust to pressure changes is when you spot the fish on your sonar screen scoot up from deep water and chase your lure to the surface. This is not the case, however, with many other species – especially walleye and bass. As I’ve mentioned in the past, every 28 feet of water depth represents approximately one atmosphere of pressure. So, when you catch a walleye or bass in deep water, bring it to the surface and then hold it out of the water for even a brief period of time, the fish’s swim bladder expands like a balloon because of the reduced pressure. It is comparable to a diver suffering from the “bends” when he or she comes to the surface too quickly and just like it is life threatening for humans, it can be deadly for walleye and bass as well. In addition to the swim bladder and pressure problems, of course, there are additional factors you need to consider, including the rupturing and haemorrhaging of blood vessels and internal organs..."

You should really put one of those video game warnings on this. But I am on Lutein. I am like SuperMan! Here... I will post it for the others: Photosensitive seizure warning Share A very small percentage of people may experience a seizure when exposed to certain visual images, including flashing lights or patterns that may appear in video games. Even people who have no history of seizures or epilepsy may have an undiagnosed condition that can cause these “photosensitive epileptic seizures” while watching video games. These seizures may have a variety of symptoms, including lightheadedness, altered vision, eye or face twitching, jerking or shaking of arms or legs, disorientation, confusion, or momentary loss of awareness. Seizures may also cause loss of consciousness or convulsions that can lead to injury from falling down or striking nearby objects. Immediately stop playing and consult a doctor if you experience any of these symptoms. Parents should watch for or ask their children about the above symptoms. Children and teenagers are more likely than adults to experience these seizures. The risk of photosensitive epileptic seizures may be reduced by taking the following precautions: Play in a well-lit room Do not play if you are drowsy or fatigued If you or any of your relatives have a history of seizures or epilepsy, consult a doctor before playing.

How much snow does everyone have?
ExiledInIllinois replied to Ice bowl 67's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Yes! But there are always wild swings. Things have actually stabilized out. March of 2012...One of the warmest ever. Many days in 80s. Even at the Falls, we were on Maid of The Mist, mid-March. This has been a typical stable winter with a few wild swings. More snow than average... But drawn out. By Prez Day here, snow under 2 inches should burn off by late afternoon. It's been sticking. A look at long range shows average, even below with no usual late February, early March warm-up. Here, I should be getting ready to take top off Jeep (to clean) in a few weeks. We normally have fishing boats come through soon too. Ice very heavy still. -

Outlier. Before the Blizzard of 1977... People wearing tee shirts. Always a thaw. Still just as long. Normal. This winter will drag on longer I am betting. Colder longer. Who knows. Whether or not we will have weather. -
It’s National Margarita Day!!!
ExiledInIllinois replied to The Senator's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Margarita or the drink? One of those will temporarily slow to a trickle if they Build that Wall!® But, that's okay. A little sand and dirt from digging under it won't distract. LoL... -
Oh... Just for posterity, we use vetical sluice gates for culvert and dam operation. @GoBills808 But... As the pressure of the head increases past 5 feet that vertical system becomes extremely unpractical since all the pressure of the head is exerted on the sluice gate straight up. A different design is need with heads above 5 feet. The stress on the mechanical delivery system too great. Roller gates are one such example. Water can be realeased above the gate and below the roller: @GoBills808 Quick question, what kind of head are you looking at when you pose Your side & bottom paddles question? What type of mechanical power system are You implying? Human, animal, electrical or hyrdaulic power systems. Remember. 5 feet head is about maximum lift that a human can power, even with mechanical advantage on crab driven systems... You will basically need a flight-lock system to lift/drop more than 5 feet. You'll need this: And this:
