Gaging interest for Fantasy Basketball League
geggytah replied to geggytah's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
ha haha hahaha ha....no wasn't so much talking about gagging. i think i'll stick with the original term "gaging" and we'll go from there. personally i LOVE the nba. love college ball too but watching the influx of youthful talent in the league the last few years has peeked my interest. doesn't hurt that my baby bulls are finally growing up and that melo's nuggets are entering the league's elite. -
ok the league is now set up...we have close to enough people and i believe we'll fill it up. here are the league's specs (however they are negotiable because i want to be fair with everyone): League Name: TBD Fantasy Basketball Password: Will be PMed to you if you request league membership Draft Type: Live Draft Draft Time: Tue Oct 18 7:00pm EDT [ Add to My Calendar ] Max Teams: 12 Scoring Type: Head-to-Head Max Moves: No maximum Max Trades: No maximum Trade Reject Time: 2 Trade End Date: March 16, 2006 Waiver Time: 2 days Can't Cut List Provider: Yahoo! nevermind...they must have made an error....it shows manning throwing the passes now
-
according to gamecenter from nfl.com, sorgi is throwing the passes. is this true? is manning hurt?
-
found info at kffl.....rudy may only sit the first play. no big news here
-
not to play or not to start...big difference. link please...QUICK (fantasy implications)
-
which technically should mean a good day for westbrook because mcnabb won't have time to get the ball to receivers and will have to settle for dump off passes to brian underneath? right?
-
why willis....why would you consider him strong in the receiving area?

[Entertainment] LOST discussion thread
geggytah replied to duey's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
it has been awhile since i have been to this thread....but with the new season starting in less than two weeks i propose that we ditch the notion of having a single LOST thread to discuss everything LOST and have one thread per episode....perhaps labeled "LOST - Season 2, Episode 1." Personally i just think that would do a lot to organize our thoughts and make it at least possible for the discussion to be researched at a later date. Say for example, we are discussing episode 13 and then someone thinks of something back from episode 2. Rather than having to score through a thread with well over 1000 posts, you could easily go back to the episode in question and find our comments. Like i said, this is just an idea but IMHO i think it would add to our LOST experience. What does everyone think? -
that is tough to swallow considering he was my first pick....i too have thought of that though. my biggest problem with sitting willis is that even if he doesn't get a ton of yardage, he is such a good goal line back that i think he'll get 2 TDs just from having the carries in the red zone. hard to sit green/westbrook because of their receiving prowess hard to sit anderson because he is denver's starting RB at this point i think maybe green is the one to sit because detoit's D looked really good against us, the packers have lost a lot of talent on their o-line, and davenport looks to be getting some extra carries (more than normal). keep the advice coming...PLEASE...and state the logic behind your choice
-
i am pulling my hair out trying to figure out who to start at RB: need to start 3 RB's, here are the choices: (1 reception = 1 pt, then the standard 10 yards = 1 pt for reception and rushing yards, and TD's = 6pts) m. anderson vs miami w. mcgahee vs houston b. westbrook vs atlanta a green vs detroit

Was that Robert Gallery Starting at RIGHT Tackle?
geggytah replied to Alaska Darin's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
i'm not going to go out and say that MW was the best RT in the league last year, but i will put him in the top 5 for sure. i would also say he was probably the best run blocking RT in the league. second, in reading this thread i had an idea that i hadn't thought of before. perhaps the "plan" for MW was to ease him in the the nfl - its spead and physicality - by playing RT until Jonas left. ok ok, now jonas is gone and we have seen mike blossom into one of the best RTs in the league. i can't say for sure but i believe that MW is up for a contract in the next year or two. perhaps TD is thinking ahead and realizing it would be a better financial decision to put off the move to LT (LTs make A LOT more money) until after MW is under contract long term. mike would be able to blossom as a RT, perhaps we could find a cheaper solution to LT in the process during the years MW refined the RT position (gandy????), and we save 5 million per year against the cap because we pay him as a RT instead of a LT. crazy theory and probably way to overanalyzed, but worth consideration. -
first, here's the trade i made: andre johnson for stephen davis/santana moss second, i am pulling my hair out trying to figure out who to start at RB: need to start 3 RB's, here are the choices: (points for receptions count) m. anderson vs miami w. mcgahee vs houston b. westbrook vs atlanta a green vs detroit

this thread is getting me WAAAAY to pumped up about tomorrow. in fact i am going to "say" that i am not going to read it again because it is torture to be this pumped up 33 hours and 27 minutes before kickoff. LET'S GO BUFFALO!!!!

http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/players/6359/news Sep 9 Chris Villarrial, McGahee's right guard who suffered a sprained ankle in practice Wednesday, should play in Sunday's opener against Houston but will be less than 100 percent, The Sports Xchange reports.

The Official "Syracuse Stinks" thread
geggytah replied to Stevie's Johns0n's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
this has been quite possibly the most boring game i have ever seen. defenses haven't even been that good. lack of yardage and poeints has been poor execution and playcalling - for both teams. SU was EXTREMELY fortunate that WVU had slippery hands today and almost fumbled the game away. the most telling stat of the day: there was not ONE single third down converted until the fourth quarter started - for EITHER team. YIKES! ugly ugly ugly football....and this is coming from a fan a defensive minded football. wow. just wow -
actually from just watching the game once i noticed a different JP depending on the drive that was going on. early on he looked to stay in the pocket a little and escape when needed. it was a take what is given to you approach. then he started feeling some heat or receivers weren't open when they were supposed to be and it was almost like once he got flushed out of the pocket once or twice he forgot that he could stay in the pocket after that. he was running everytime he felt wind of a defensive player within 5 yards of him. after one or two drives of that "attitude", i do believe he calmed down a bit and found some receivers the more conventional way, but he was still a little skittish in the pocket for my liking. all that aside though, the man played the position of qb and played it well. 3 scoring drives is impressive, but even more impressive was the time taken off the clock during the drives because of 3RD DOWN CONVERSIONS. watch the cowboys and see the difference between how they fail to convert 3rd downs and compare it to us and you will see exactly what i am talking about. if we can score 17 points in the first half every game and add 7-14 in the second half, our defense will do the rest and i guaruntee a perfect season. will we score 17 and 7-14 in every game? no. but if we did, the rest of the teams in the league might as well forfeit the season and start next year right now cause the bills have the superbowl locked up.

why is it that you cannot make a live draft? there is no possible time for you to have an hour or two free to enjoy a fantasy draft? if there is a time, let me know and i will see what i can do -
