  1. we have had some classic battles in the league the first two years and year 3 should be no different. this is a deep draft where prioritizing your bench players is important as there are several positions to keep track of. also, the limited bench size combined with a large playing roster size makes for waiver wire moves being encouraged and strategic. good luck all - the leauge fills up fast so jump on it now! the draft date and time is negotiable based on feedback i get from participants. go to http://football.fantasysports.yahoo.com/f1 to sign up Your League Information League Name TBD FFL for Masters Year 3 League ID# 357723 Password gobills League Type Custom Draft Type Live Online Draft Draft Time Thu Aug 10 6:30pm EDT League Settings Scoring Type Head-to-Head Max Teams 12 League Start Week 1 Can't Cut List Yahoo! 2. yah everything is updated....just downloaded the patch though so we'll see what happens
  3. just got a new computer about 2 months ago and felt like getting back into Medieval: Total War again for a little bit. i installed it on my computer and all is well until i get all of my settings (like which nationality and era, etc...) and click "Begin" at which point the game tries to load the playable section. the screen flashes, goes to the screen that is normally accessed by the escape button (with save game, settings, etc...), then the next click of the mouse (no matter where i click) just completely shuts down the game and i am back to my desktop like nothing happened. btw...the computer FAR exceeds the minimum specs needed to play the game.
  4. i'm thinkin we all have a LOT of questions and need some time to piece together a number of loose ends
  5. thanks for the acknowlegement.... however, i do want to state one last time: I WAS NOT saying the video was accurate. I was saying the the video brought up a lot of really good points (most of which are HALF TRUTH), but nonetheless, even half truths have to be explained. i assume this topic has been discussed and was a hot bed for some pretty harsh discussions in the past. sorry for re-opening pandora's box... having really not delved into the issue of what really happened before, i thought now would be as good a time as ever. so i post a video that i watched. did i watch it with a critical eye? no...my bad. did i do research on it? no. why you ask? because i figured things would come up in discussion with you board members. based on the points that you all brought up, i was sure it would focus my research and possibly bring up angles to the situation that i had not thought of before. educational discussion - it is a good thing. now please stop accusing me - and for that matter any one - of being nieve or foolish because (s)he feels like learning more about a topic by discussing it on the board. i thought that is why the board was here.
  6. that is kind of a low ball shot as i believe i stated a few times that i merely posted the link to bring up the issue as a topic for discussion. to outright assume anything is wrong - whether it be a conspiracy theory or to believe the events as the media has portrayed them to us.
  7. ok clearly i feel like the the outside guy here as it seems like you all have had this convo before with the board and probably several others. i am not one to get too involved in politics as i truly believe no matter who or what is in office - government sucks and you just have to do your best to get by. all that said, i'm not saying any or all of that video is true. i just thought it was a good discussion starter - but now i have second, third, and fourth thoughts about that. good site btw: http://www.indybay.org/news/2005/12/1787340.php
  8. hey i'm not saying that everything in here is true...but if you watch this video, there are simply a lot of things that i can't spin another way to rationalize it happening any other way.
  9. some REALLY big questions need to be answered. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-2...11+loose+change

  11. btw...i wasn't trying to "diss" melo with my original post. the language used in his "quotations" just is not melo-esque. it has "prepared by a PR man" written all over it. not a good thing or a bad thing - just kind of funny/ironic to see those quotes come from melo who is popular with the younger generations of america because of his street cred due to his normal policy of speaking however the hell he wants to speak - the anti-lebron.
  12. low blow on the fantasy comment pooj....but not that low. as i recall, i was leading the league from week 1 to about week 7 or 8 - at which point camby got hurt and i picked up an injured bonzi wells to stash away because i knew i could afford a hit in the regular season standings due to my 8 game lead over second place. i took the hit, my team is healthy now, and i find myself looking to nail down the 3 or 4 seed. honestly though, i don't even care what my seed is - i would put a LOT of money down that i win this league regardless of who i play. i stacked my roster with players that have good playoff schedules.
  13. these statements released to the press are about the MOST prepared statements i have ever seen. http://sports.espn.go.com/rpm/news/story?s...Id=1&id=2369686 melo is a hell of a ball player, but is lacking a little in the proper use of english language. it is almost like carlton banks (from fresh prince) speaking ghetto....lol
  14. just 2 days ago i was commenting on how our lawn was just starting to green up. now my lawn has whitened up to the tune of 10 inches or so..... i don't mind the cold weather as long as the snow comes with it. this winter has been miserable for me.

  16. PLEASE be there and be there early so that the draft goes well and we have a good time debating and contratulating our successes and failures on draft day.
  17. on a team that includes the following players and is in a head to head scoring system with the 9 standard scoring statistics, do you drop either brevin knight or gerald wallace to pick up juan dixon? PG B. Davis (GS - PG) SG T. McGrady (Hou - GF) G L. Hughes (Cle - SG) SF C. Butler (Was - SF) PF D. Marshall (Cle - F) F D. Howard (Orl - PF) C R. LaFrentz (Bos - FC) C J. Przybilla (Por - C) Util J. Tinsley (Ind - PG) Util V. Radmanovic (Sea - PF) BN G. Wallace (Cha - GF) BN B. Knight (Cha - PG) BN B. Jackson (Mem - PG) also have a trade that will most likely go through where i will be getting melo/q richarson for j. tinsley/b. jackson. please give your advice based on each scenario....the first being the roster listed above and the second being with the trade going through. THANKS a ton for the input!
  18. 2 random thoughts here: first, remember when locke "encoutered" the "monster"? we never saw what the monster was, BUT we are almost if not entirely certain that the smoke and trees thing that the group saw while carrying the dynamite was mechanized. perhaps, locke never encountered a monster, but instead found that the entire thing was merely a machine used to scare the people on the island. perhaps that was just another part of the psychiatric experiment/rehab. what's more, perhaps locke actually talked to a person responsible for either operating or creating the machine and thus his constant obsession with doing what the "island" wants. maybe this whole thing is like the Truman Show with Jim Carrey where everything about the survivors lives is just a manipulation. my second little thing is much less intricate. in trying to figure out this friggin' show we have come up some really complicated and complex senarios. honestly, every single one of them has had some degree of making sense but also left me wanting more. so today i am thinking about that and i realize that when all is said and done and we know everything there is to know about the island and its survivors.....will we be left wanting? i can't help but say yes just because i don't think it is the answer that we want - it is the mystery that we want. i for one, hope we don't find out what the hell is going on.
  19. NEW THEORY ALERT: this one kind of ties into some other ones that have been discussed a little. i think it really has to be agreed that this island is or has had some kind of pychriatric experiment going on with it. my little variance on this is that all of the survivors are either clinically insane or need severe amounts of help in order to restore mental health. as far as i can see, each "survivor" has a reason to be insane - or at least leaning that way. jack with the moral dilemmas at the hospital, locke with his dad and legs, kate with the friend that died and trouble with the law, charlie with the coke, hugo with the bad luck/lottery troubles.....the list goes on. perhaps they were PLACED on this island as either an experiment with the clinically insane or as a rehab center. if the island is a rehab center i would have to say that it is working for every one involved thus far. jack is now a leader, locke understands the give and take of life, kate is establishing lasting and meaningful relationships, hugo is learning to take responsibility and not attribute things to luck, etc....
  20. feeling all warm and fuzzy while wathcing the bills? the last few weeks i feel i am watching them more out of tradition and obligation than because i really want/need to. i'd say i haven't "enjoyed" watching the bills since the middle of the first quarter against TB. this isn't a doom and gloom post btw...just a "wish i was havning more fun right now" post
  21. i forgot....what was the answer the the snowman question?
