well i was just about to give this a shot when i went to the computer and saw that vista sp2 updates had downloaded...so clearly a connection is being made, however i still cannot connect to the internet. when running an ip config i also am only getting the default windows ip address and not an ip from my modem and/or router - but like i said the sp2 update d/led. i'm more confused than ever guess i'll try the steps outlined above for the hell of it

yes cable works no known issues with my make/model router has been rebooted router isn't the issue because the issue is the same when i go straight from my modem to the desktop with no router connected thanks for the attempt

So I bought this fully loaded desktop from gateway (i know i know, but i got a great deal!) about a month back and other than having to upgrade to win7 I haven't had to do anything major with it. About a week after I upgraded to win7 (2 days ago) I could not connect to the internet at all - which clearly means that the upgrade had nothing to do with the problem. Other computers on my network are fine so its not the connection, the ethernet cable is working fine, the LAN card is working fine according to my device manager, etc... I was stumped so just to make sure it wasn't win7 I wiped my HD and downgraded to vista, and the problem persists. I've uninstalled and then reinstalled the drivers for the LAN....ugh. Seriously all components appear to be working fine, yet the end result of connecting to the internet just isn't happening. When I mouse over the LAN icon in the system tray it says local access only. HELP!

as the article states, DO NOT TRY THIS WITH VISTA 64 bit!!!!!! I just had to wipe my HD and reinstall windows as windows explorer could not be found after making the mod to try to get to god mode. UGH...wish i could have gone back in time 5 seconds after i did it.

I'm just making sure both sides of the story are reported until a definitive conclusion can be made...seems like people are anti-NBA in this thread but you must realize that ALL professional sports have bad incidents the wish didn't happen and most often just get swept under the rug. PS Arenas has since stated that story from the NY Post was a flat out lie and slander and that he was going to sue the paper for such... before you pass judgment, collect all the facts. In Rome I enjoy The Mill on E Dominick for a more social crowd and more open space, but more often than not for some pretty good food (football specials too) and a small crowd if you really want to just sit back and relax and watch a few games I go over to Aquino's on Floyd Ave. Both places have the ticket with multiple HD tvs. Aquinos you usually get to pick which games you want on each TV as well due to the small crowd.

to a max contract? rondo is good, but i think boston cripples itself in the future if they commit to a non-shooting PG (obviously this is only a problem in 2-3 years when their current nucleus is on social security). Rondo should get 50-60 million on a 7 year deal. I'd let him walk for anything more. He is the current generation of Andre Miller. He's a really good player that takes room away for your best player because he can't spread the floor.

no quality issues whatsoever as long as i set the bandwidth usage to a low level. at higher bandwidth, it seems the vonage adapter uses too much and the TWC modem can't provide enough. on another note, extra fees and taxes have really soured me on the great "deal" that vonage offers. i pay with the once per year option to save extra money and i think i still pay over $30 a month. great features. great quality. the cost, however, i think is going to drive me to cancel after 4 years of service.

Excuse my ignorance, but I noticed that there is a $2350 tax credit that is given if you purchase a new hybrid vehicle. How would this affect my federal income taxes at year end? Would I actually be given the $2350? Or is it more based on giving me some of it but how much depends on the rest of my income/tax paid factors?
