  1. Remember when Carucci said the Bills HC search was a farce because they had already hired Lynn? That was funny.
  2. Close to the playoffs, yes. Close to being a Super Bowl contender? HELL no. OBD has no interest into sneaking into the playoffs. They want to win the Super Bowl and be a consistent championship contender year after year.
  3. I doubt it would be possible to re-sign Gilmore, Woods and Zach Brown in addition to also retaining Taylor. History suggests that Shady just had his last good season and will fall quickly going forward. The rest are solid-to-good players but not a foundation for a Super Bowl champion.
  4. Maybe they realized that they are not close. Changing a scheme that worked on offense and getting rid of the quarterback is going to absolutely result in a regression. On defense, aside from Dareus the current players are either on their last legs or really young (Lawson, Ragland). I was all about promoting Lynn and just getting a new defensive staff. But that didn't happen so now a true rebuild may be the only hope at building something resembling a Super Bowl contender in three or four years.
  5. A couple weeks ago he said "we're close." Now he's saying "It's not going to be a quick fix." I think it's extremely obvious that OBD's plan changed at some point between Whaley's train wreck press conference and this interview. Or at the very least Whaley was informed of it. Are you joking? This team hasn't rebuilt since 2001. They've been spinning their wheels thinking they're "close" for the last 15 years.
  6. Joe PersonVerified account‏@josephperson Sean McDermott interviewed Panthers QBs coach Ken Dorsey today for Bills OC job.
  7. Read these quotes and tell me you don't think "full rebuild." "We're not looking to just make the playoffs. We were looking for a coach who agreed with us that we want to build from the foundation up a team that can consistently compete for championships." "We have to sit down and explain the vision we see of the qb we want on our team now and in the future. Then we'll come to a consensus: does this meet our criteria of a long-term answer at that position?" "To the fans I say: we recognize the seventeen years, absolutely. But we're asking you to recognize that we're trying to build something for the long-term sustainabilty of success. And I can't give you a timeframe--year one, year two--but I will say; every game--like Coach says--you'll see a competitive team out there in position that won't beat themselves and that will be in a position to try to win." "It's not going to be a quick fix. He knows that and we know that. And anything that's going to be sustainable for a long time is hard to do."
  8. So when he says things like "we want to build from the foundation up" and "we understand the drought but we're trying to build something for the long-term and we can't give you a timeframe for how long that will last" and "it's not going to be a quick fix" - you don't think this refers to a rebuild?
  9. Really, guys? Read these quotes. I think the message is loud and clear. I'll bold the key words and phrases. "We're not looking to just make the playoffs. We were looking for a coach who agreed with us that we want to build from the foundation up a team that can consistently compete for championships." "The head coach, myself, Jim Monos, the quarterback coach and offensive coordinator - we have to sit down and explain the vision we see of the qb we want on our team now and in the future. And anything that's going to be sustainable for a long time is hard to do. So the work ethic - not only from ownership on down - is going to be permeated through this building but it's also going to be permeated in the locker room. These guys got to know - and they will know - that there's a standard we're setting." Anyone who can read these quotes and not think "rebuild" is fooling themselves. They don't care about the streak. They don't care to squeak out 10 games and sneak into the dance as a wild card and lose the first game. They want to blow this thing up and build a brand new foundation of a team that will win consistently and compete for championships year after year. A teardown and rebuild is exactly what he's saying!
  10. Gotta trade Shady.
  11. I'd be okay with that if they didn't hand the rebuild keys to Doug Freakin' Whaley
  12. Unless they told Olson that their plan is to release Tyrod and tank.
  13. Travis YostVerified account‏@travisyost Travis Yost Retweeted Adam Schefter This guy took a lesser position to avoid Buffalo ... for THE RAMS. #billzzz Travis Yost added, Adam Schefter @AdamSchefter Former Jaguars OC Greg Olson, a favorite to become Bills OC, now is planning to become the Los Angeles Rams QB coach, per league source.
  14. He probably got pissed when he came in today thinking he was interviewing for the OC job when in fact it was for QB coach.

  16. I hope this doesn't mean he actually turned us down. God help us if that's the case.
  17. No I'm pretty sure it's Dennis Thurman.
  18. Looks like Greg Olson is our OC.
  19. Because the Waltons theme song is way catchier.
  20. Not yet but I'm assuming since he's so smart that this is exactly what his list looks like.
  21. Updated with Top 12 candidates based on what we know today.
  22. Never gonna happen
  23. Whaley used Taylor as an example of why he hasn't missed on every QB during his tenure. So that's something, at least.
