  1. Sounds like Kyle is going to be a Patriot to close out his career.
  2. If Watt played on a 4-3 team he'd be a DT. And it doesn't matter anyway because we're talking about contract. Dareus isn't close to the same effect on each game as Watt. But if you don't like the Watt comparison - Aaron Donald and Ndamukong Suh. Or Geno Atkins. Or Sheldon Richardson. Or Calais Campbell. Or...
  3. People said the same thing about Glenn. One of the few things Buddy Nix got right.
  4. If Dareus doesn't work out with this staff then that contract will certainly be up there with one of the worst moves in the history of the franchise. Worse in hindsight, but bad in foresight as well. They paid him like he was the same level as Aaron Donald or JJ Watt. Even when his head is right he's not in that caliber. And his head has never been right. And that's not even taking into account the part of his contract that said he'd still get paid during his suspensions. Mind-boggling dumb. Kyle is a free agent after this season. Whaley wasn't responsible for any bad decisions that occurred on his watch while he was GM. Only the good decisions. Poor guy was a victim!
  5. I'm still not convinced.
  6. They traded Sammy for a 2nd rounder. Then in a "hey, while I have you on the phone" move Beane traded a 6th rounder for Gaines.
  7. Yes. "Realist" - that's always the pessimist's go-to term for how they describe themselves. Btw I wasn't even talking to you. Defensive much?
  8. Eh, they didn't trade Sammy for Gaines.
  9. Great stuff as always, Erik. I think having to play both the left and right side hurt him in his battle for the starting RT position. But he'll be starting by midseason.
  10. What a tremendous waste of natural talent. Such a shame.
  11. You guys must be fun at parties.
  12. "Cut the Fat" Before After
  13. Banyard averages 4.1 yards per attempt for his career so I have no idea what these statistics are you're referencing.
  14. McDermott put an appropriate tender on him - 5th round. Hogan (the average receiver who had a whopping 5 yards receiving last night) was a different story because they didn't get anything for him.
  15. Just read a post saying the Bills should've retained Gillislee because Joe Banyard stinks and doesn't compare to him. But why? Before he signed to the Bills' practice squad in 2015 Gillislee had rushed for a grand total of 21 yards in his first 2.5 seasons in the NFL. He was cut from the Dolphins then released from the Cardinals' practice squad after a month. Gillislee is like many professional running backs out there - he's a guy who can do some good things when he's given an opportunity. Hence the term 'dime-a-dozen'. So now Banyard is getting his opportunity with the Bills. Why can't Banyard do what Gillislee did? Even though he's 28 he has little-to-no wear-and-tear on his body. Roughly the same height and weight as Gillislee. Banyard ran a 4.46 40 at the combine years ago compared to Gillislee's 4.57. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O-A5APPj-GM https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dnw-9Cmi_jk
  16. Why? What makes Gillislee so special in your eyes?
  17. Before he came to Buffalo, Gillislee had rushed for a whopping 21 yards in his first three years in the NFL. He was cut by the Dolphins then released from the Cardinals practice squad after a few weeks. When the Bills signed him to their practice squad in 2015 he was considered nothing more than a body. Gillislee is still the same dime-a-dozen running back he was before. He's just had more opportunities since then. Banyard is now getting a real opportunity for the first time in his career. Why can't he perform the same?
  18. The Bills didn't just give McCoy $2 million "for no reason." They added incentives to his contract. Which means if he produces enough to exceed those incentives, then he'll receive extra pay. But he has to earn it. Look beyond your emotion and think for once.
  19. Could be but he had a PFF grade of 84.7 last season which is very good (even though he only played what equated to roughly half a season). Lee led rookie linebackers in tackling efficiency, fwiw.
  20. First, take a deep breath. Gillislee is a good backup running back. That's all he is, and backup running backs are truly a dime a dozen. We essentially traded Gillislee for Matt Milano. Not only is Milano cheaper with more years on his contract but we have no idea how he'll develop and what he'll become.
  21. Lost in the whole "Jets suck and are tanking" narrative is the fact that the Jets defense looks very, very good on paper. Leonard Williams and Wilkerson are beasts up front. At linebacker, Darron Lee and Jordan Jenkins are very talented and both had a very good rookie seasons last year. Could be much improved in 2017. In the secondary, Morris Claiborne is a very good corner. Rookie Jamal Adams has Ed Reed potential. This game is no gimmie. I expect a very low scoring affair on Sunday.
  22. Fans can't be upset that their team is a laughing stock?
  23. Patriots looked like garbage last night. They played like they spent the entire offseason/preseason trolling teams and celebrating their Super Bowl. Smith looked great but I don't expect him to play like that for the entire season. All of those 19-0 predictions aren't looking too hot any more.
