  1. It's pretty easy to look like a defensive genius when you coached a team with Strahan, Justin Tuck, Antonio Pierce, Osi Umenyora and other players I can't think of all rushing the passer. I liek Spags and would probably be happy if we got him, however, he had a tremendous amount of talent. I'm not sure he could do much with the guys on our roster. I'd be willing to give him a shot though. I don't think the Rams have exactly been known for defensive prowess in his time there either. WE NEED PASS RUSHERS. That's our biggest issue. I would be happy with a change at coordinator though as well.
  2. An under 9 Peewee football Quarterback was giving hime some pointers on how to read and breakdown defenses.
  3. As much as I would love for this to happen, it is one of the dumbest posts I've seen since I have been on this board. One of the great draft debates has always been "need" vs "best player available". If our first 5 picks were "LBs just happening to be best players available" I would be all for it. Unfortunately the odds of that are one in a million. SOMEBODY PLEASE EDUCATE OUR FANBASE. Buffalo takes pride in having a knowledgeable fan base. Unfortunately, posts like these will ruin that reputaion.
  4. Sorry bro. Didn't find this post very intelligent. Sorry to hate but thank God you're not running the team.
  5. Thanks Graybeard. I should have known better than to let him get a rise out of me. Won't happen again. Still a newbie; learning who the morons are.
  6. Just FYI to all, Jackson broke his Fibula. Not his "tibula" or his "tibia" or "fibia". It is the smaller bone in the lower leg and not the more crucial of the 2 bones. If any of you recall who are true fans who watched press conferences, it was Fred's mentality that he would be fine for the next game. Further tests proved differently. Clearly he had the player's mentality of "I want to play". You're just getting smarter by the minute "crazy-one". I'm sorry I had it wrong, I meant crayonz.
  7. No, genius, it is Tibia. The other bone in the lower leg is fibula. Sounds like you're combing the two, lmao. You sound like a pure hater with little rationality. I see you have a lot of posts on this board but I don't care. You sound like a moron. Kyle William has a booboo? Fred Jackson is sitting out when he shouldn't? Those might be the 2 highest character players on the team that any locker room and talent scout would love to have. As you are probably an old dog, it would be very difficult to teach you new tricks so I have no hope in convincing you of anything. Let the misinformed hate eat away at you brother.
  8. Yeah, definitely a desperation thread. However, Mayock does appear to be very competent and well spoken so I could see where somebody would think highly of him as a GM cadidate. He definitely does a huge amount of research and has great work ethic. But we also must point out that his jusgment has been way off on some huge calls. those are the kinds of things that get GMs fired. For example if he was Carolina's GM and passed on Newton, everybody would now be calling for his head. I still have faith in Nix and Gailey. I want Ralph to give them at least 5 years to right this ship. I'm sick of 3 years and you're out. That hasn't worked. I want to give these guys a real good shot at getting things going here. Keep the faith Bills Brotherhood. On the Parcells note I think he is a very good talent evaluator. I think this is especially true for players in the Trenches. However, he has never been a good QB drafter. At most of his destinations, that was his biggest weakness IMO.
  9. Firstly, Mike Mayock was a big fan of both of our first 2 picks this past year. He thought Dareus was the perfect pick for us and was also a fan of the Aaron Williams pick of the 2nd round. He also was high on our pick with Spiller saying things like Chan will really know how to utuilize a playmaker like spiller. Also, before we start singing his TJ Yates praises let's point out that he was very low on Cam Newton saying he was extremely far from pro ready. He said Blaine Gabbert is easily the most pro ready QB. Still think Mike Mayock would be the draft savior?
  10. Oh thanks for clearing that up. Now I understand. What's your IQ? Point taken and it's one I respect. However, you're position is basically just to sit back and whine until there is a winning product? Fess up. Who did you want? Be honest.
  11. I would like each person on here bad mouthing the hiring of Buddy and Chan to state who's cause they were championing as head coach and GM when the bills were searching. Was it Mike Holmgren for GM? Wow he's really working wonders in Cleveland. Was it Shanahan for Head Coach? Wow, cause he's really got the Redskins competing for a super bowl. Please state who you wanted before you bash who we got. I've also got some news for you. Buddy tried to reach out to Harbaugh (the 49ers coach) but he wasn't interested in the job (a significant problem when trying to get top coaching).
  12. I must admit, there was nothing to look at positively today. Even a billiever like myself doesn't know where to look to see something good. A very disheartening loss. I felt like the Bills didn't even try. I mean that literally. I think they have given up on the season and that shows in the trenches where large creases bust open for Matthews. It shows in the fact that there was no gusto in any player following the fake punt. IT SHOWED. Nobody cares anymore. Fitz sucked. His picks were straight up his fault; no excuses. I'm pissed we didn't give Spiller more of a shot. I'm also pissed that his yards after contact in this league are about 0. Ugly day boys. Even I'm down about this one. I think the "D" has even demoralized the offense. They just know that even if they score, the defense will just allow a touchdown. I hope we can make a change on the D next year. Sometimes I wish I could give the post game speech and rip 'em a new one. I'm sticking with my boys though unlike a lot of people on here. Funny how people react to a losing streak; and also to a winning streak. Changing with the winds.
  13. Good call Doc. Glad to see we still have some smart fans that are reasonable. Thanks brother.
  14. good call artmalibu. Pass rush definitely needs to be addressed big time. Getting Williams will be big and also would help Dareus big time. I say we keep Merriman but basically count on him being a non factor and do other things to ensure we have pass rush. If Merriam performs at all it would just be a bonus. If he doesn't early in the season, cut him. Go Bills!
  15. I'm sure Browns fans were shouting from the mountain tops too that Bill Belicheck was not built to be a head coach. He was a good coordinator but couldn't do it without Parcells. HE SUCKED! I guarantee that's how Browns fans felt. Peyton Manning couldn't win "the big one".......until he won the big one. The Patriots season was over when Bledsoe got injured and 7th round pick Tom Brady came in and won a super bowl. Mike Kryseski should have been fired after his 3 first miserable seasons at Duke. Wade Phillips sucked too. Wait he took us to the playoffs multiple times. Ralph Wilson couldn't build a winner because he was too cheap until we went to 4 straight super bowls and were the winningest team in the 90's. Hey "Paup", you change with the winds. I like our direction. You see a loss and throw your hands up and cry foul. Who did you want, Bill Cowher? The guy who worked for possibly the best organization in the league and had a lot of average seasons. The guy who took 15 years to win a super bowl with very smart ownership and well drafting GM's. If a coach takes 15 years to win one he is just above average since there are 32 teams. Hope you can do the math. And maybe less than average with the great situation he was in. Oh maybe you wanted Shanahan as he has been brilliant in Washington. Or maybe you wanted Holmgren as he has worked wonders as the Browns GM. Typical fan. Changing with the winds. A non-Billiever. Eat crow when we win.
  16. The title says it. I think all 3 were good hires and signings. I think we are kind of following the Packers' model. Great offensive minded head coach. Draft and develop. This is the model that works for a small market team. Nix has made a lot of good moves despite a lot of people on here having their blinders on to them. We are building depth which will continue in the next draft. I think we do need a defensive guru so we'll see if they're smart enough to make that move. One thing that worries me is the close relationship between Gailey and Wannstedt. It might hurt the chances of making a change. Another thing is it's tough to become a strong team when you have been in a division with a team that has dominated the league for over a decade (Pats obviously). It really has hindered our chances at turning into a playoff team. I think we have a good staff though. Just going on record at a time when the haters are screaming from mountain tops.
  17. I also would like to say that I agree with one post on here on how Fitz has not stepped into some of his throws. I think on some of his deep balls this has been an issue. However, I have theorized that this is becoming common place in the NFL to preserve the health of a starting quarterback. I have seen both Peyton and Eli Manning do the same thing when there is a hit coming. I would not be surprised if this way of thrwoing is something that is now practiced by quarterbacks. Stepping into a throw when a 300 pounder is about to nail you at full speed will shorten seasons and careers which will hurt teams. Just ask Trent Edwards after he stepped into the pass to James Hardy against Arizona and was absolutely clobbered by Wilson I believe. He was concussed and never was the same. I think it is smart to practice these throws while moving backwards, to severely lessen the impact of some hits. Losing the starting QB is devastating to a team and I would not be surprised if this way of throwing when a QB is expecting impact is being taught and becoming a trend in the NFL.
  18. I posted the post below in a different section where there was some Fitz bashing. I felt the need to post it here as well: If Fitz ends up living up to his contract, most of the people on this board better be ready to eat a lot of crow. Fitz is currently projected to make the pro bowl and is beating the guy in 4th by quite a bit. Fitz is currenty 5th in the league in completion percentage with 65.7%. Granted, we have a short passing game which helps a bit but it's not like he's grossly inaccurate by any stretch. Lots of Bills fans=bipolarly stupid. I'd like to look at a lot of your posts when we were 5-2 hahaha. Want to add this as well: I also would like to say that I agree with one post on here on how Fitz has not stepped into some of his throws. I think on some of his deep balls this has been an issue. 20. BTW this is a big reason it's so hard to get an established quarterback in Buffalo. The environment is very hard to perform in game in and game out. When there is a perceived poor performance, the fans and Buffalo writers go nuts and rip into the QB. No wonder it's been so long.
  21. And we clearly have some unreasonable fans. Try throwing in 20 mph winds for all home games. Then compare his accuracy to Peyton Manning who plays in a dome constantly. It's apples and oranges. Get a grip fellas. As a matter of fact go out and throw when the wind is blowing at 20 mph. Then go out and throw when things are calm. Then let me know what you find.
  22. Still really wish we had drafted Ngata and Orakpo over Whitner and Maybin. I can honestly say that at the time of the Bills picks, I was saying these were the guys I wanted. This isn't some hindsight is 20/20, Monday morning quarterback claim. I said this at the time of the picks. Sometimes I feel like GMs and coaches are too close to a situation where they can't see the forest for the trees. A reasonable fan with decent football accumen could see both Orakpo and Ngata were superior players. Now, they didn't fit our Tampa 2 defense which I hated the entire time we had it. I must say, despite our defense being completely inadequate the past 2 years, I like the change in scheme we have made. I have always been a fan of the type of scheme we had when Wade and Teddy Cottrel were running the D; having Pat Williams and Ted Washington type guys up front; not John McCargos who are supposed to be small and fast. I like the Pittsburgh mentality and scheme; a team you will likely never see go small and fast. I would like to see us have another heavily defensive draft this year and a change in leadership on the defensive side of the ball. I think personnell wise for a Buffalo team, we are making the right transition under Nix though; probably not a popular opinion on here. We need a 3-4 guru on the defensive side of the ball; wishful thinking in Buffalo. We'll see if Chan is loyal to a fault to his staff, or if he can see the forest for the trees this offseason and make a change on "D".
  23. Are there any free agents this offseason we can sign? I know Nix isn't big on this but in this desperate of a situation, maybe he would look at it. I also strongly agree that we need a defensive guru. Just did a little research myself. It looks like Robert Mathis, Mario Williams, Matt Roth and Kroy Biermann are DEs listed in the top 50 2012 free agents. There were no OLBs on the list.
