  1. Will be at a draft watch party with the Austin Bills Backers at our bar, which is my usual draft routine. Will likely be listening some to either wgr550 or hashtag sports for Bills coverage. Looking forward to the draft. Last year Baker Mayfield was with his family watching the draft at a place about a block from our Bills bar. If Buffalo had wound up drafting him a group of us were going to go welcome him to the Bills. Also, when they were about to announce Buffalo's draft pick one of the Bills fans yelled out "Anybody except Josh Allen!" Lol.
  2. McD worked for years under Andy Reid. He should know as well as anyone how Andy Reid thinks and how well Reid can evaluate QB's. When KC called asking to jump all the way from 27 to 10 he should have known that he was targeting a QB and that Mahomes was that QB. McD should have known that if Reid wanted Mahomes and was willing to deal those draft picks to get him that Reid would only do that for a special QB prospect. McD should have thought, my team needs a QB and if Andy Reid wants this guy so bad i should just take him instead of taking the trade. McD was in charge of that draft for the Bills, Whaley was dead man drafting.
  3. My dream scenario (emphasis on dream): 1. Trade up to 5 to get Quinnen Williams He would be a great pick, but it will cost to move up to 5, very likely the 2nd round pick. 2. Package Zay and 2 to get DK How? You just used the 2nd pick to get Williams and I believe that McD still has faith in Zay Jones. Heck they used multiple draft picks to trade up to get him so they are invested in him. WR's take time to develop, people were calling Eric Moulds a bust after his 2nd season but he turned the corner in his 3rd season. I don't see Zay getting traded without at least getting a hard look in training camp and the pre-season. 3. Bundle most of our remaining picks to get a top TE The top TE's Hockenson, Fant and Smith will all be gone by the early 2nd round at best, the rest of he remaining draft picks are not gonna get you that high. 4. Grab a higher potential RB in the late rounds This is doable, i would suggest Bryce Love in the 4th. So basically you want 3 1st round picks (yep, you're dreaming) and a RB in the later rounds.
  4. Not thrilled with either ESPN or NFL network, but preferred NFL network for Mayock's analysis without him though who knows how it will be. The thing I find most disappointing is they talk about Buffalo's pick for 2 minutes and move on quickly, not enough Bills related coverage. For a few years I've been listening to WGR to get more Bills related coverage while at Bills draft parties. This year plan on watching at a Bills draft party and listening to some Bills draft coverage on youtube broadcast from 34Rush.
  5. There are plenty of teams that are open to trading down, the Jets, Lions and Bills have pretty much came right out and said it. The Raiders have a ton of holes and could use even more picks, Tamp Bay traded back last year and would likely be open to doing so again. The real question is how many teams are looking to trade up in the draft, that's a shorter list.
  6. There is no way the Bills are trading within the division with Miami. They are not going to trade Zay Jones either, I believe McD still has faith in him. I also don't think Miami is drafting a QB this year, I believe they are tanking this season to try for the Alabama QB in 2020. If they did want to trade up they would more likely deal with Detroit at #8 and who have publicly stated their willingness to trade back.
  7. Just looked, again, at his numbers from the combine. Very impressive EXCEPT the 20 yard shuttle and the 3 cone drill which were nothing special. To me this puts into doubt his ability to change directions effectively. NFL WR's don't just run in a straight line, they need to be able to cut quickly without losing speed. If he can't do that it will really limit his production in the offense. Also there is the issue of his neck injury this year which caused him to miss much of the season. I always am leery of players who have back or neck injuries, those can end a career fast. To me I don't think you can take him at #9, not great value there, after a trade down perhaps.
