  1. War Is Over (If You Want It)? Ed Morrissey We've seen the Hundred Years War. We've seen the Thirty Years War. We've even seen the Six Day War. Could the conflagration between Donald Trump and Elon Musk become known as the Ten Hours War? Maybe we need a new olive-branch emoji on X, one with a dove wearing a MAGA hat: Elon Musk tried to de-escalate his spiraling feud with Donald Trump last night as White House aides organized a crisis call between the warring billionaires. ... Billionaire hedge fund manager Bill Ackman stepped into the fray, posting a plea on X for the two men to reconcile 'for the benefit of our great country,' warning that 'we are much stronger together than apart.' Musk, who became one of Trump's closest allies during the election campaign and then as head of his DOGE cost cutting taskforce, responded with a brief but telling reply: 'You're not wrong.' The unexpected comment was seen by some as an olive branch, suggesting he may be eager to deescalate their feud which finally exploded in public after weeks of rumored tension. Whatever else happens, that was good advice, and Trump was wise to take it. As annoying as the public feud might be -- and one has to wonder just how annoyed either massive ego actually got at the attention -- Musk is a sideshow. (That realization may be what set off Musk in the first place.) The real matter at the moment is getting 50 Senate Republicans to pass the House's reconciliation bill to lock in the 2017 tax rates permanently, and then start working on more cuts in the appropriations process for FY2025-26. There will be time during the summer recess for splashy, gossipy feuds with celebrities. For both men. Anyway. This war will come to an end soon, because both men have more to lose than to gain from it, or because this has mainly been kayfabe all along. I'd bet on the former over the latter still, but either way, the Ten Hours War has been a silly interlude for both of the combatants ... and for the rest of us as well. Update: Hold off on the MAGA olive-branch emoji, at least for a while: https://hotair.com/ed-morrissey/2025/06/06/war-is-over-if-you-want-it-n3803523
  2. And just like that, Democrats crawl out of the woodwork to whisper Karine Jean-Pierre was 'incompetent' by Monica Showalter Karine Jean-Pierre, the Democrat spokesweasel who called Joe Biden "as sharp as a tack" and was lionized as "an historic figure," has left the Democrat party and now has a book to sell. And in no time at all, the Democrat long knives have come out. What they're saying: One former White House official who worked closely with Jean-Pierre told Axios that she "was one of the most ineffectual and unprepared people I've ever worked with. ... She had meltdowns after any interview that asked about a topic not sent over by producers." "She didn't know how to manage a team, didn't know how to shape or deliver a message, and often created more problems than she solved," the official said. A former Biden communications official threw more wood on the fire: "The hubris of thinking you can position yourself as an outsider when you not only have enjoyed the perks of extreme proximity to power — https://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2025/06/and_just_like_that_democrats_crawl_out_of_the_woodwork_to_whisper_karine_jean_pierre_was_incompetent.html
  3. No. That is not the case (for most)
  4. Yeah, there was corruption at the highest level Third Biden Autopen Signature Discovered Amid Federal Investigation by Cristina Laila A third Biden autopen was discovered on Thursday amid a federal investigation into “who ran the United States while Biden was in office.” House Oversight Chairman James Comer is also spearheading a congressional investigation into Biden’s health coverup. On Wednesday President Trump directed his White House Counsel, David Warrington, in consultation with Attorney General Pam Bondi to investigate “whether certain individuals conspired to deceive the public about Biden’s mental state and unconstitutionally exercise the authorities and responsibilities of the President.” https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2025/06/breaking-third-biden-autopen-signature-discovered-amid-federal/ How many more will be found???
  5. MORE UNANIMOUS VOTES !
  6. Thread title needs to be changed. Trump Approval Higher Than Bush, Obama at this Time in Their Terms By David Strom Did you know that Trump is serving in his second term? You wouldn't, if you watch the way the news reports his poll numbers and how they compare them to the numbers for Bush, Obama, and Biden at "this point in their terms." It is true that Donald Trump is not serving two consecutive terms, but it is also true that Trump's second term is not at all comparable to a president still well into their honeymoon in their first term. Newly elected presidents get a lot of leeway that presidents serving their second term do not. https://hotair.com/david-strom/2025/06/04/trump-approval-higher-than-bush-obama-at-this-time-in-their-terms-n3803459
  7. Well, now the board knows what to say when Jan 6 protests comes up.
  8. How did the Boulder attack suspect have a Colorado license? KXRM-TV [Colorado Springs CO], by Norishka Pachot (COLORADO) — More details about the Boulder Pearl Street Mall suspect, 45-year-old Mohamed Sabry Soliman, are surfacing days after the attack. Soliman, who lived in El Paso County, entered the U.S. in August 2022 on a B-2 tourist visa, according to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). The visa is used for foreign tourists’ visits to the U.S. DHS further confirmed that the visa expired in February 2023. DHS spokesperson Tricia McLaughlin told AP News that Soliman filed for asylum in September 2022 and was granted work authorization in March 2023, which had also expired. On Monday, June 2, Congressman Jeff Crank reported that Soliman had received a Colorado-issued driver’s license in July 2024, a year after his visa had expired. “Instead of turning him over to ICE, Colorado lawmakers gave him a sanctuary pass,” Crank wrote via X (formerly known as Twitter). “Shocker.” FOX21 News reached out to the Colorado Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV), which confirmed that Soliman had received a Colorado driver’s license. https://www.fox21news.com/top-stories/how-did-the-boulder-attack-suspect-have-a-colorado-license/
  9. Russia-Ukraine war has caused 1.4 million military casualties. Of the 1 million Russian casualties, roughly 250,000 troops have been killed, while Ukraine has seen around 60-100,000 of its soldiers killed out of 250,000 casualties. It is difficult to calculate accurate casualty numbers since Russia often under-counts and Ukraine doesn’t report them. The study used figures from U.S. and UK government estimates and other sources. Russia has seized less than 1% of Ukrainian territory since 2024, with its forces in some places progressing just around 165 feet a day, according to the study. The country has also lost a third of its long-range bomber and surveillance fleets, nearly a third of its Black Sea fleet, and some of its top generals. Co-author of the CSIS study Seth Jones told The New York Times that Russia’s campaign is one of the slowest in modern history https://justthenews.com/world/russia-ukraine-war-has-caused-14-million-military-casualties-study
  10. Voter ID law and election integrity should be top priority in new Congress. Voters want it, and with good reason. Glenn Harlan Reynolds Who are you? Who who, who who? I really wanna know. Okay, that’s from – appropriately enough – The Who, but it’s also a reasonable question to ask regarding voters. Elon Musk tweeted the below the other day: Now maybe this doesn’t mean anything. Perhaps opposition to voter ID is just an article of faith in blue states, and unsurprisingly they also vote blue. Maybe. But maybe not. Making voters show photo ID seems intuitively likely to reduce fraud, as it makes it harder for people to pretend to be someone else. Maybe it’s people pretending to be other voters to get another vote; maybe it’s people pretending to be voters who are dead or inactive in order to get another vote, but making people show a trustworthy photo ID when voting makes such fraud much more difficult. At any rate, the GOP should make a national photo ID requirement for federal elections a top priority in the next Congress. And it should go further. Seventy-four percent of European countries entirely ban absentee voting for citizens who reside domestically. Another 6% limit it to those hospitalized or in the military, and they require third-party verification and a photo voter ID. Another 15% require a photo ID for absentee voting. https://instapundit.substack.com/p/who-are-you-voter-id-law-and-election
  11. True. But they will continue, they have nothing else.
  12. In four months, the Trump administration has seen more nationwide injunctions than the entirety of the 20th century, and more nationwide injunctions than Presidents George W. Bush, Barack Obama and Joe Biden combined. This is not normal. This is not justice. This is an orchestrated campaign of judicial obstruction. As Chair of the Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on Federal Courts, Oversight, Agency Action and Federal Rights, I was proud to lead a discussion on ways to rein in these abusive nationwide injunctions.
