I am happy with him although he’s got some more maturing to do. The good news is he’s still young and learning on the fly. Hopefully, with more experience he will cut down on the int’s. Now, do I think he will be elite like Aaron Rodgers? No, not yet but he can be still be very good. I would like to see a string of 300 yard games from him. I will be highly disappointed if he doesn’t throw over 300 against the Dolphins.

Got to see one game like that to get an idea of what he can do on a consistent good day, where he hits a couple longer ones.

Think if Aaron Rogers were behind center things would be different!

Seems the thought process by the coaching staff is offensively, the team is still weak, young QB who's still learning, somewhat shaky play on the O-line, top that off with injuries, and WR corp that's 2 to 3 X better than last year, but still probably overall rated in the bottom half of all teams.

So the thinking is lets not go and lose games, play conservative and that extends through the 3rd Q of games too.  Then they realize OK we need to start playing again.  So far for the most part it's worked, it's nerve wracking, but consider the overall tlanet and experience on  the offensive side of the ball, may not be a bad idea, though d owish they'd be a little more aggressive in Q-3

Thing is at the point it was.. 49 seconds left, 3 time outs -

the GOOD josh was playing. 17/21 (2 drops, 2 throwaways)..

Give him a chance to get you to a field goal..

And I make this topic statement, because not to dwell on past games coaching decisions, but on today's game coaching decision.

I'm watching Green Bay with 44 sec.left in the half, and Green Bay's coach is calling plays as if they're down 17 points instead of leading 17 to nothing.Green Bay is trying to close this game out in the first half!

Now,I reflect on us today, with the exact same 44 sec, to the half and we throw a short pass for two yards and the next play hasn't even setup yet with time on the clock and we're heading to the locker room with a 7 to nothing lead.

I would like our coaches to have a little more aggressive mindset in these remaining games going forward!

I COULD NOT understand the 49 seconds left, 3 timeouts and going into the locker room -

Your QB is hot at this point and you have gone for it twice on 4th down. It puts MORE emphasis on having the ball after the half - we went 3 and out!

I thought he was coaching scared at this point if I'm completely honest. Loved the aggression earlier.

They’ve made him a better qb, numbers wise, by reeling him in but they have also made him a less interesting and less dynamic qb by reeling him in.

weird.  We are winning more and he is better, but I get the sense that teams are less and less worried about him.

...I would so love for him to hit a 70 yarder and smack back at that recent perception about him.

This is true. You know what Allen needs.. he needs ONE game where he hits alot of these big plays that he has done occasionally, all at once. Maybe the dolphins game..

If you don't want to count today as a 4th quarter comeback, then he has 4. too many int's, but a gutsy performance time and time again.  Question is, how would you say Josh is doing after 16 games as a starter? Is he The Man moving forward??

He is for the near future.

I find it hard to know yet if he's the franchise QB guy for the future.

    Keep playing.

Someone on the radio made a good point

(On allen) HE HAS THE TENDENCY TO BREATH LIFE INTO THE OPPOSITION WITH HIS PICKS. This is so true for me.

He was good today mostly (kept chains moving, bounced back on TD winning drive, went through progressions, plays well when it 'matters' on drives)

but the above IS A PROBLEM.

Let's continue to see the good, not seeing any GREAT plays to outway these momentum shifts so the jury is still out.

Yes, but there is a significant difference. To me, decent is a backhanded compliment. He was good. But maybe we have different parameters in terms of usage of these terms.

Backhanded compliment as in not really impressed with him you mean and I'm not giving him credit? Maybe..

I thought he played good in the first half, went on record here saying that. Then I thought he played quite a bit worse after for a bit. We can go with good when you add in the TD drive but 3td, 300 yards could be seen as playing good for example.

I thought some throws that were not caught were good throws and could of been catches.

The offense will need to improve immensely. They struggle so much to get two or three scores when they have the talent to fairly easily score 24 each week and to do it earlier in the game. I hope Josh works on nothing but the long ball the next two weeks.

Yeah it's a strange one. Look, they are doing well but if the great defence have an off day we are most probably going to lose the game as theres not enough on offense.

He had a good week, and if Yeldon doesn't stop running, he has zero INTs on the day. Not saying it would have been completed, but it wouldn't have been a gimme interception either.

I don't see any accuracy issues. Just flaws in decision-making, that have only happened every other week this season as opposed to several times per week last season.

I know people screech about 4 turnovers in the Jets game, but if you can't differentiate between how those happened and how the ones against NE happened, there's no saving you.

The yeldon throw was Allen trying to make something happen. The gameplan today was to not to need to do that. As he was throwing that ball you got the same sense you did when he was trying to make something happen against the pats. Allen was decent today. The problem will come when Allen needs to make something happen, to see if he is a really good to elite QB.

I agree. But every team won't be a top 5 defense either.

Some nice plays on that drive. Helped by a generous personal foul flag and the missed field goals but good plays when they needed to be made. When we are on top of teams we are not putting them away though. That will catch up. The winning games is impressive.
