I'm not usually a big fan of hindsight drafting, and I think Beane et all have done a great job overall drafting high-character, high-motor guys. But I do think they might have whiffed when they drafted Cody Ford instead of WR DK Metcalf in the second round last year. It's too early to be sure, and Ford could eventually become a monster, but we really could use a big, fast receiver like Metcalf, and we already had a nicely developing guard in Wyatt Teller. (Yes, they were/are hoping Ford will be RT, but his feet seem just too slow for that position.) I'll take a whiff in the second for a hit in virtually every other draft spot, but, let's face it, they seem to have blown it in the second. Do you agree?

I remember character being mentioned somewhere regards metcalfe. That plays into this regimes thinking

    Yes.

3rd quarter is absolutely the problem.

I saw Allen's numbers in the 3rd quarter in an article I think in The Athletic recently and they are utterly atrocious. On the flip side, his numbers in just the other 3 quarters are really impressive.

I don't know what's going on at the half, but it needs to be fixed.

Its a sign that killer instinct isn't close to being there yet. I remember Allen saying in a presser to the question of the after half slump that 'we need to come out with more juice'.

    I found that concerning.

I think (just a wild guess) what he is pointing to is that in 3 of our 5 games we got a lead in the 1st half, looked like we might score a bunch and then stumbled offensively quite a bit in the 3rd quarter, for any given number of reasons.

That poster might believe that a slight or major shift in game plan is the primary reason for the slowdown. The old school "protect the lead"mentality.

    Just a guess.

This 3rd quarter thing is a problem. I'd love to see the stats on the offence coming out of half time. We never score there!

According to NFL Draft Diamonds, Browns are beginning to listen to offers for Odell Beckham Jr.

I don’t l know that I would change the WR room drastically at this point. I think Bills need Offensive Line and LB help. But, fwiw...

Edit: Mods I didn’t see any threads with this info, if I missed it - apologize and delete at as you will, thanks.

Locker room problem? Asked for a trade?

Your attempt to blend in as a "Bills fan" is exposed based on your seeming love for the Patriots.  There are a ton of message boards (I assume) for band wagon Patriots fans.

Haha, brilliant. I was waiting for a post like this. So I have to be a homer to be a fan here right?

I know more objective posts are not appreciated by some. Being objective should still allow for 'giving credit where it's due' - which I will always do.

Look at the stats, you don't need me to tell you the pats are still good.

I still think the Chiefs are the only potential challengers to the Pats (unless we get our offense together, so we can challenge them as well). The Ravens and Texans are much better than anyone they have played this season, but are also both overrated and not real contenders imo.

As great as the chiefs are, they really worry me playing the Pats. Their defence shows not signs of NOT FOLDING.

If he's throwing 20+ picks for the next few years that's a problem.  But at this point in his developmental and given the type of QB he is it's not a big deal.

Agreed. If they believe in 'development'' with Allen it's actually good that he throws a few. I say that because of the type of QB he is. He's not tyrod. Hopefully he can be a Rivers.
