  1. It would be amazing to get him but lets be realistic here, it's highly unlikely that VJ would come here. Personally I can see us going after a TE who can line up and flex out like a Fred Davis.
  2. Great reply you added a few perspectives that I might have overlooked. I appreciate the response!
  3. Good afternoon everyone, Now that the combine has been over for a week or so and everyone has had there time to assess and evaluate, I just wanted to get your guys insight what the combine really means to you. I know guys who have played at every level, even professionally and I think that the combine doesn't really translate to the field to the extent that it is made to be. Don't get me wrong there are PLENTY of things that make the combine effective, almost too much to list but at the same time, what a guy does on the field in pads and a helmet is A LOT different than what a guy in a body suit on turf does. I feel that the combine should consist of a physical with body fat index, an interview. When it comes to the drills and bench press I think that everything should stay but i'm not sold on the bench press or the 40yd dash. First off the bench press doesn't really test endurance as well as something like power cleaning. For lineman and WR/TE the bench press would obviously mean more than it would on a QB or RB. I think the shuttle drills and the cone drill is way more of an effective way of testing quickness, which in reality is more critical that outright speed for a stretch of 40yd's. I obviously understand that players can't get physical during the combine, that's just common sense. I just believe that the combine is somewhat overrated. Idk just felt like giving my perspective on it.
  4. Sorry but ol' boy has definitely cycled....that's not natural by any means. You can have all the muscles in the world and still have this happen to you http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-cant-miss-plays/09000d5d80a857c5/WK-1-Can-t-Miss-Play-Jacobs-express
  5. Not trying to be a jerk but we all know Ralph is in it for the money and not the betterment of the franchise.
  6. I personally wouldn't look into it too much. It's highly likely that Buffalo will retain SJ, he's comfortable here and the money is there for us to keep him. If at worst you can expect him to be franchised which is highly probable.
  7. Very true I can't really argue with you but you never know how someone will fit in with a team. Elite player or not, that doesn't guarantee anything. Randy Moss was elite, then he went to Oakland and....? well we know what happened. Although Mario Williams has way better character than Moss I just wanted to defend my stance. Either way, He would for sure be an awesome pick up for us.
  8. Exactly, I definitely agree that a pass rusher is a vital part of any team. It's the most important part on the defense for sure. I just think with our current situation, there's no reason to lose out on a good receiver who knows the system and has chemistry with the offense to make room to see if another player will work out for us on defense.
  9. When you show no faith to players who have supported you're organization time and time again, you end up being the Buffalo Bills. At some point we have to keep some type of foundation to build off of. I would hands down sign Stevie J, we need some continuity and stability somewhere and there's really not a viable reason not to re-sign him. Mario Williams is a hell of a player but I would rather have SJ.
  10. You're right Barnett is a damn good player, Edwards I haven't seen much out of him. There should be production from a DE
  11. Yeah they have but no one who's madecan immediate impact you know?
  12. Relax man and read thoroughly before you make ignorant statements. First off you took what I said out of context. I didn't say that building through the draft was bad I said it in the context that we can't solely rely on just the draft and not be strategic in FA. I suggest you actually read before you reply instead of skimming through posts until you find something negative to point out.
  13. The time is now for Buffalo, there's absolutely no excuse for us not to be extremely active in Free Agency. The jury is out, we all know that we have a core group of players (when healthy) that we can win games with. Us as fans know, the media knows and the rest of the NFL knows as well. I have to say that I don't have any trust in our front office to make the right choices and I'm pretty sure the majority of people who follow the Bills feel the same way. I know being a GM is not an easy task by any means, let me just put that out there right now but it's just pathetic that we have to settle for such incompetence. Buddy Nix has a lot to prove to us Bills fans, we aren't going to accept the "we're going to build through the draft" crap. The thing is, I don't think we need to go out there and sign 8 players but we definitely need a couple savvy veterans on both sides of the ball. I just don't want Nix to bring in a bunch of mediocre players who are not going to make an impact and say well we were aggressive is free agency. Just get 2 to 3 players who can step in and contribute right away and be leaders on the field. A lot of players aren't going to want to come to Buffalo and it's not just because we don't win, it's because of the way our organization handles their team (players). We don't resign key players and we do whatever to save a couple pennies, even if it's not whats best for the team. I'm not putting those things on Nix alone because it's been happening for several years now. The Buffalo Bills need to adapt and catch up with the rest of the league. It's not the early 90's anymore and we're at the bottom of the barrel.
  14. Cortland Finnegan would be a perfect fit as our corner. He's nasty, physical and really just dirty but our defense needs that edge. We need an intimidator bottom line!
  15. I think everyone should be pissed off at how awful he's dancing more than the fact that he was dancing after a loss.....ol' boy really took it there, he really did.
  16. The fact of the matter is Stevie's doing something good. Like who cares if he's rich or if you think he's doing it for a PR move, some people do actually have a heart. I know it's hard to fathom but it's true. There are thousands of athletes who make more money than him and a lot of them only volunteer there time. He's a young guy but he's far from a bad guy, he's made some immature decisions but he's always been a good teammate and he's always represented to the fullest extent for the city of Buffalo.
  17. 1. Rodney Harrison 2. Bill Romanowski 3. Brian Cox 4. Jack Tatum 5. Roy Williams- Ex-Dallas Safety
  18. Great news!! Im glad it only took them a year to figure out they don't have the personel for a decent 3/4. Kyle Williams and Dareus are the anchors on defense and they need to utilize them accordingly. Having Dareus play LDE was just idiotic. But nonetheless great news. They now just need to find a good every down end, then make merriman a situational pass rushing end.
  19. It's going to take a miracle for Buffalo to get any high profile player in their prime to come to Buffalo. I mean there has been nothing within the prior years that shows Buffalo wants to be a contender. We never have a real concrete plan, as soon as we start to get something going they don't resign players. It's just pitiful the way this organization is ran to be honest. Not making the playoffs 12years in a row is no coincidence. We deserve a better product!
  20. I don't really believe Chan was ever the problem, I'm more concerned with whoever is in the draft room and front office (Buddy and Ralph). I don't think we will ever make the playoffs again with our incompetent front office. Sorry don't mean to be debbie downer
  21. I think this was a good article you took the time to actually explain yourself so whether anyone agrees or not, at least you were thorough. I agree with most of what you're saying but not too sure I would let florence go. McGee I think we should definitely cut him, he can't stay healthy to save his life. I also think that we need to sign chandler back, he was a major factor in how defenses schemed against us and I think we've all been waiting for a real TE for damn near 10 years. We need to pay Freddie Jackson, it's time we pay players who actually produce and trading him just doesn't make any sense to me at all. We need to bring in another WR for sure. Mario Williams would be great but the question is would he fit our scheme? For some reason we aren't letting go of this hybrid theory crap. The team is totally ineffective using 3-4 and it needs to go.
  22. The problem is, no one wants to come to Buffalo because everything we have done for the past 10 plus years has been completely half ass. Sorry to put it so blunt but it's going to be extremely difficult to bring in good FA's. I just hope we don't overpay for mediocre players like we usually do.
  23. The only way Spiller is going to have a good game is if they use him properly. More off tackle, counter traps, and tosses/sweeps would be nice. Just something to get him out in space, maybe even a delayed draw to let the pass rushers get behind him. There's going to have to be more creativity in the play calling and to Gailey's credit, he only has so much to work with right now. I did however like the option call last week and although it wasn't the prettiest execution the fact is that they are making the effort in their play calling. KICK HIS ASS SEABASS!!!!!
  24. Yeahhh I like where ur head is at on this one. That would be an awesome move
  25. Why say no to 4-3? Wait, its because we are successful at running the 3-4 right?
