Playoff #1 Bills @ Texans PostGame Thread

If they let Josh be Josh as you suggest, what is McD complaining about? So are you confident in our offensive coaching acumen should we just get a QB you like more? -

Exactly. How does a HC say our 2nd year QB is trying to do too much in empty backfield sets? It's mind numbingly stupid. -
McDermott: Josh Allen 'tried to do too much' in loss

There's a recording of a mic on the head ref. He said the Texans player did an oopsie so no TD. -

I suspect you're correct but even if he didn't it's yet another indication of how he evaluates offense incorrectly. -

How could a QB be defined as trying to do too much when his coaches put Pat Dimarco in as the X receiver for multiple plays in overtime. Then when they take him out and put Singletary in as the X - Josh hits him for 14 and a 1st down. Stand up there and blame yourself coach. Shameful!! -

They had Dimarco out there as an X receiver in overtime. I mean wow. That alone is a fireable offense. And they've done that several times before in games. Then Singletary comes in as an X and catches one for 14. They are killing this second year QB. -

If Allen doesn't take a step next year, which is likely being with this HC, then McD needs to go. I just can't believe how some of you guys don't see how this HC and OC are pulling the total offense down. They are not showing themselves capable of developing a young QB. -

Here's where I'll leave it. Josh is conditioned to play conservative, despite that it's against his nature and what makes him special. We were up 16 at the half and clearly momentum in our favor. It should have been at least 20-0 but our head coach is satisfied with 3 points far too much. Then a team 0-22 or something when losing by 16 or more at halftime storms back. Then we want Josh to all the sudden play hero ball going for it on 4th and 27? They put him in position to fail and when he does I'm not blaming him. The idiot McD said Josh tried to do too much. Well you put him in that spot you offensive moron. . -

Are you sure you're talking about the Bills? -

I agree. I was pointing out that if that's what he'd call prevent, it's not like that's a consistent occurrence. -
I love how all these idiots are saying Brady won't go out this way. As if all he has to do is come back and they'll go further. If he comes back it's going to get harder not easier. Especially if McDaniels leaves. They totally ignore the possibility that if he comes back, this great competitor, that the outcome can't be worse.

Exactly. I guess Josh in less than a second needs to say "whoa what's that goofy ass doing out here? He looks open, wait he shouldn't be thrown to." This is exactly what I mean by Josh has to overcome our inept offensive mindset. -

I just can't believe vet posters are saying stuff like this. I'm not trying to start a fight with you bro but the 2nd year QB did way more than enough to win this game. Duke gets 2 hands on a TD pass and Brown hops when he needs to get his feet down - are 2 plays that can't happen in the playoffs and to a young QB. Puss play calling accepting FG's the moment we're in range when closing games is for the taking are his leadership's issues. -

We don't play prevent all that much or at least enough to mention. Obviously that 3rd and 18 was a killer but that doesn't happen often. I remember under Rex teams were getting 3rd and long more than 3rd and short it seemed. -

I'll give you that on offense but the defense isn't dumb. That's still a problem because our HC isn't interested in offense. -

If I was Allen I'd be pissed. He won't publicly because he's classier than our HC. He owes Allen and everyone else an apology for even pretending he knows a thing about offense. He'll be an excellent coordinator in his next job. -

I cannot believe McD said this. We're going nowhere with his mindset. Trust is something I guess he doesn't need to have. -
Henry I have a small request. Could you please run over Gillmore?
-
I believe it's an impossible job but, IMO, the officiating is ruining the game.

First penalty on the Patriots in the third quarter. That's just hilarious.

We're poorly coached on offense including Allen. -

It's those little things that add up to contribute to not closing a team out. -

This is bunk. His WR's let him down constantly and he has to overcome the putrid play calling. Unrealistic to expect that from a 23 year old. Did you see John Brown hop up when he needed to get his feet down at the 10 yard line? Would've been first and goal, instead is a FG. So many examples. Dimarco is a WR in overtime for 7 plays? Really?
