2004 was a great year looking back over past 12 seasons. I'd say the 2004 Bills would beat 2011 Bills 27-13. Sad thing is we know what came next for 2004 Bills.

That's pathetic that our defenders make mental errors on 20 plays a game.

What has happened is plain too see, the team can't get over the mental hurdle of what it takes to consistently win. Corey McIntrye's holding, Namaan's drop, Fitz's fumble, Spiller's fumble (yes this counts), Chandler's fumble, the defense not defending the edge against an outside running back, and to top it off Gailey giving Spiller 2 second half carries.

Nelson is a good route runner for less vertical threat receiver, but a wuss he is not. I would like to see him get more vertical passes like back shoulder throws and streaks and posts. The guy is too big and has too good of hands not to get a few isolation deep targets per game.

Spiller played alright, thought we could have used more in screen game and delayed draws. The turnovers hurt us.

This is a BS post.

We are going heavy SEC on defense. On offense we need more quality lineman to provide depth and a starting right tackle.

McGahee born October 1981 age 30 Lynch born April 1986 age 25. Spiller born August 1987 age 24. Fred born February 1981 age 30. If given the option to take 2 I'd still pick what we have. I think Spiller is a Kevin Faulk all-around player who will only get better in time. Fred is better than McGahee all around and CJ will be around the league long after Travis, I mean Marshawn is gone.

MacAddict104 is accurate in his basic premise that this season has been dissapointing. After being 3-0, 4-1, 5-2, we have simply run out of gas. It is another year in a string of frustating finishes and that can wear on you. There are many reasons why this has happened, but there always seems to be a common thread; injuries, our scheme's being figured out, and below average performance from key positions in critical games. I agree it is tough that we continually go through this, maybe because I'm younger (31), and my first memories are 1988 through 1999 our franchise finest 12 seasons in my opinion I am jaded. I don't remember going 0 for the decade against the Dolphins in the 70s. I don't remember the terrible teams of the early 80s. Put into perspective the past 12 seasons have been terrible. I won't argue with the OP that there are many homers on board here who simply enjoy having the team. I respect their fanhood in particular PTR and guy who is the epitome of what I consider to be a Bills fan. I believe a true fan can be critical of his franchise and demand results. Piling on MacAddict104 can be fun, but let's be honest, his sentiment is carried by most fans, and is the reason the Ralph will be missing 15,000-20,000 fans on Sunday.
