  1. Just looked up his stats on NFL.com. Not too sure how proven he is. http://www.nfl.com/player/joemays/4277/profile
  2. No, but I did get offers to make much more than a master sergeant in the Air Force.
  3. Yes I did. I could have been civil service or a contractor.
  4. Yes I can. When I was a master sergeant in the Air Force, I was expected to do the same things lower-ranking airmen did, and for a whole lot less money than what the Bills are offering Byrd. You want that kind of money, act the part.
  5. Sorry, but actions speak louder than words. EJ Manuel doesn't have a contract, either, and he hasn't missed a work out. If Byrd wanted to play here, he could show some good faith and at least be in town, or maybe talk to his agent and give a little on the numbers. He is a good safety, but is he worth the top safety salary in the league? No.
  6. Talent is one side of the equation. The willingness to play here is quite another, and it seems that it is lacking on Byrd's part. I'm fine with letting him go.
  7. Yeah, but Donahoe would have mucked it up.
  8. Writing guys off before they get a chance to play? I remember people saying the same thing about Jim Plunkett...
  9. Ask Aaron Rogers about being a 1st-round QB and not starting right away. What amazes me is that people will not give out players a chance to develop or our coaches a chance to ply their trade before they write players off.
  10. Has it been scrapped? SJ and TG start, bring in Woods, and he goes outside while Stevie goes to the slot. I'm thinking our noodle-armed former QB had a negative impact on Graham's development.
  11. If our OC is a creative as advertised, his contributions as a 4th WR and return man will justify this pick.
  12. Johnson-Graham-Woods-Graham? We could do worse.
  13. No, a panic would have been us trading UP to pick Manuel.
  14. I like this pick. He might, but does not have to start right away. He also has the best arm strength of all the QBs touted as possible 1st-rounders.
  15. According to the rules, Parcells would not have drafted Elway.
  16. Draft Tek featured this reasoning behind us picking Jarvis Jones in their latest mock draft: With recent signings of Lawson and Dowtin, and the Ravens' Chavis Williams popping in for a visit Tuesday, you might feel the role of LB has been filled, obviating the need for OLB here. Not so fast! None of these players (and none in the draft) has accumulated 155 tackles, 44 tackles for loss, and 28 sacks in 26 games like Jarvis Jones. Pettine's hybrid defense will require more than these guys can offer, including a fleet pass-covering SILB and a FS over the top, but it will be harder for opposing QB to complete passes lying on their backsides. If Nix and heir-apparent Whaley trade down a tad and nabs Minter, Vaccaro, or starting QB in Round One, I won't throw my foam brick at the TV. At least, not until after Round Three. Anybody know anything about this?
  17. Lynch is a solid back, I agree, but I would rather have CJ.
  18. In this QB drive league, I would say our situation at that position has had more to do with our January vacations. Spiller is a dynamic playmaker, and I for one am really, really glad he was on the roster when Fredex went down.
  19. Looking back on that draft, would you have selected someone else?
  20. When we drafted Spiller, he was BPA. Did we need him? On paper, no. Aren't you glad he's on the roster now?
