  1. Ok. I can't hold it anymore. It seems that there are some people (some in this thread) that love to use the term "best CB when healthy". It's crap. He isn't. He's old. Slow. ALWAYS injured so it doesn't matter anyway. McGee is not only not as good as Williams or Gilmore right now, at his best he was never as good as Gilmore. At practice right now Gilmore is amazing. By the start of the season he will show why hs is the shutdown corner in this team for many years to come.

Last year McGee got injured on opening kickoff. Hebcame back for what, 1 game and was injured again. I also saw him leaving the field on that golf cart and said "goodbye Terrance".

I seem to have this feeling that Terrance said he was healthy when he took that restructure. Apparently hebosnt healed yet from his November injury? What?!? It sounds like he lied to the Bills to me. Not that these things don't happen but it sounds funny to me. If he did fib a bit I think he's as good as gone because I feel they let go of Florance because they thought they could count on McGee. Oh who am I kidding, nobody has counte on McGee in years.

I liked the guy when he was good and healthy but he hasn't in years. He's not that fast anymore even when he is healthy and we should have seen this coming years ago. I said it at the time that we should have extended Greer and traded McGee for a box of slim jims and a case of yoohoos. When your in a position of making future descisions for your team you always go with youth if the talent is even close. And that's why he will probably be gone. If he makes the cut, it will be as the 6th CB.

Ok. I can't hold it anymore.
Hope you were able to relieve yourself.

Really?!I'm having a hard time believing that the Bills just took his word on the fact the he's healthy without xrays or MRI's or any other tests.

  2. When I left Buff, it was for Tallahassee Fl. Iv'e been lucky enough to see some really good to great college football players and games. Nigel is gonna be a good one. He studies hard and plays hard. I was at this game. The reason for the flag and ejection is the refs called him for leaving his feet and leading with the helmet. Niether was true.Awsome hit! I'll just leave it as the ACC refs are conditioned to make calls on the Noles. In the refs defense FSU has been known as a penalty machine under Bobby Bowden ala the Raiders. Esp. personal fouls. I was also there when Roscoe Parrish was blasted after dropping the ball in rain soaked game( it was played when clicking the link). He got up and played the rest of the game. You should have heard the oohs and aaahs after that hit on Roscoe. When we drafted him, I said that is one tough dude. Turned out to be injury prone, but he's still a tough guy.

  3. What I ended up watching the most was his footwork. He has some really good footwork when getting around Olinemen. He gets the lineman going in one direction and uses his quick feet to work around the guy. And he's got a good burst to the QB once he clears the oline. This should be a fun season guys. And I almost got rid of Direct TV.

  4. Hated the Spiller pick then, hate it now ..but had nothing to do with Lynch. I am of the ilk that hates taking a RB that high no matter what..especially so in the Bills situation of a lack of talent across the board a couple years ago.

Below are the next 10 picks. WITHOUT THE BENEFIT OF HINDSIGHT, who would you have taken # 9 instead? As to your comment about talent across the board, Spiller was the most talented player left at #9.IMO. I only see JPP as a choice, but that is with the benefit of hindsight.Maybe Davis, maybe.

  5. First of all, our GM and coach have said Carrington will not play DE this year unless there are some major injuries. He is a rotational DT.

As much as I like Kelsay as a team guy and a hardworker and a Buffalo Bill, he simply isn't very good at beating NFL tackles and putting pressure on the quarterback.

He's good at playing to the whistle, at identifying screens and play action early, sideline speed, consistent high motor effort-- those are the things Chan is referring to. But I've watched every play he's been on the field since Donahoe drafted him (like a lot of you have) and I'm sorry but the guy is a below average pass rusher. In fact, I'll go so far as saying most NFL tight ends can handle him in pass protection with no help, much less the offensive tackles.

I still love that interception TD he had against Romo on prime time television. What a great play. I hope he has a few more like that this year, I'm rooting for the guy and I'm glad he kept his number 90, he's earned it.

Thanks for the info on Carrington playing DT.

  6. Ummm. Merriman is not a LDE in a 4-3. Not even close. I'm not saying this can't happen but it's probably the longest shot of anything we've been talking about.

A few things here. Our defensive line, assuming everyone is healthy will look like this:

    LDE- Williams- Kelsey

    DT- Williams- Troupe

    DT- Dareus- S. Johnson

RDE- Merriman- Anderson or possibly Anderson with Merriman in obvious passing situations.

On that note. My biggest gripe with Kelsey his entire career wasn't in regards to him really. More like the team around him. Just 3 years ago he was considered our BEST DLmen. Possibly Williams but hebeas still just working his way to startdom. Kelsey was arguably the best. If your best DE is Chris Kelsey you are in trouble. Now...... Even if he does start opposite Williams he will still only be our 4th best DLmen. And for that reason I don't hate him on this team anymore.

    That's all

I think you guys are forgetting a player who I think will be a wild card at DE. His name is Alex Carrington. He too suffered through the switch back and forth between a 3-4 OLB and DE(sometimes DT). He was a DE in college and I think he will help out alot at RDE. Merriman seems soooo out of place on this team right now.

  7. I have never got the all-love relationship with Brees. He's a tool, a douche, and scum. The guy got lucky someone signed him and he got the chance to play. At that time it was the Saints, a rebuilding team with weak pieces - McAllister, Bush, player 3, player 4, player 5...and maybe Kyle Turley if I remember right. What Brees is doing to this team is grabbing them in their junk and holding their hands down. The Saints cannot do anything without Brees but like pointed out above they cannot do anything with him.

edit, just screw the rest of what I had - this guy is a prick.

So, tell us how you really feel about someone you don't personally know.

  8. This is how Ralph knows he can, with relative impunity, whore out this team to an apathetic city. He knows that these games have nothing to do with the likelihood of the Bills "going to LA" after he's dead. But he's sure glad you guys believe it.

Whether we believe it or not doesn't matter. It's his team, not yours. He can do what he wants with it. It is a business to the owners,by the way. Not a game, but a business. Businesses exist to make money and Ralph is doing that. If you can't see what this series has done for the business(Buffalo Bills), man I'm glad you don't run things up there. This series has expanded our fan base in the Ontario area to where they might overtake the Rochester area, if they haven't already. If we can get fans from TO, London and Hamilton, this would be a hell of a deal for the Bills(Business).

  9. You can't address EVERY position in the offseason, this isn't madden lol. So we'll just have to wait and see

They really needs to fix this. It infuriates me that they don't update the rosters and you're forced to spend several hours fixing the rosters.

What kind of Dr. has that much time to update rosters in a video game?

  10. I think he would've ended up being a good QB if not for our horrendous OL. The guy got clobbered so much that he became timid, always preparing to get crushed and not really focusing on the game. If we had an average-to-good OL, things may have turned out differently. We'll never know.

He did leasd us to a game winning FG to beat the Titans in the playoffs, oh sh$t I forgot, the refs blew that one. I was one of the few who thought we should start RJ ove Flutie that season. Still do to this day.

  11. Hey, OJ wasn't convicted of murder. He didn't kill anyone. The Glove didn't fit.

During his playing days OJ was one of my favs. I even shed a tear as a kid when he was traded to SF.

    My list:

    Fergy

    Kelly

    Bruce

    Chandler

OJ/Thurman (If not for the trouble he is in, it would have been OJ)

  12. Great news. Congrats to Freddie. Im happy. Another phenomenal move by Buddy and Co.

    Offseason Recap So Far:

    Resigned Stevie Johnson

    Scott Chandler

    Kirk Morrison

    Signed: Mario Williams

    Mark Anderson

    Great draft

    Extended Freddie

    A+ Offseason

Somehow I missed that Chanlder was signed. Nice!!!!

  13. We're trying to get younger here.

How young do you want to get? I think we're past the "getting younger" stage. We are now in the "we're trying to get better" stage. If we turn it around this season, our window will be 3-4 yrs. Osi can play another 3 seasons and be effective. More effective than Kelsay, Dwan, or Spencer. Those 3 are no spring chickens either.

  14. I agree 100% with this. While he showed some flashes last year he has in no way IMHO established himself as a quality RB. We'll see what happens this year.

He hasn't had the chance. Fred has been awesome. When Fred got hurt we saw glimpses of what he can do if given the ball regularly. I'm not saying give it to him more than Freddy, just saying when he had the chance he performed pretty well. Don't forget he had to take time away from RB(practice snaps) when he filled in at WR. He had to take snaps at WR which didn't help his developement at RB.

  15. Freddy without question. Spiller is a good player but fred is our workhorse

And why are you asking in April

I'm asking in April cuz all this other draft talk is worn out, man. Worn out(with pick # 10 who would you blah blah, etc). Thought a change of pace might be in order. I will take the Bills D with the last pick. They are going to start of hot like last season(lots of to's 'yill injuries hit) and hopefully stay healthy.

I'm in a keeper league and am going to have a heck of a time figuring out who to keep. I have both Freddy and Spiller, but I also have S-Jax and Lynch as RBs. Combine that with Bowe, Roddy White, and Victor Cruz at WR and Rivers at QB, I have a lot of good players but can only keep four. :(

Do you think Rivers is a keeper? Gates is older, they lost Sproles, and they lost V . Jackson?

  16. For all you Fantasy Football players, who would you take first between the two? I picked up Freddy in the 8th round last year and picked Spiller as a FA.Just like the Bills, I started out pretty hot and then injuries hurt my team also. Anyway, just curious who you think will have the better season and why. I did ride Spiller at the end and he put up pretty good numbers.

  17. Loved the pick at the time and still do. Gailey said we needed talent and he was the most talented player at that draft position. This team lacked so much talent it was almost depressing and I like to think of the NFL as entertainment and not live my life through the Bills.

  18. It's a waste because you don't use a top draft pick on a "quality backup." The Bills have needs at OL, WR, DB, and LB that would be better served with those top selections. If Wilson can be snagged in the 5th or later, then I'm all for it.

I'd take him in the 4th if it meant a quality backup. Frank Reich was drafted in the 3rd round in 85, I believe. That was worth it to me. He did well as Kelly's backup. Anyone remember the Houston comeback?

IF i were the bills and drafted wilson i would team up with nike, under armer etc... to develop a cleat that adds about 2 inches to his height making him more of the 6-2 range on the football field. Innovtion moving forward
