  1. So if I'm buying my milk in change and I see someone else I should just buy theirs and go with out right? hah

He has MONEY, spending some on others to get good attention is a good investment. Agent's make sure their clients do this all the time....think about it.

Hey Jerry, Please read before inserting foot in mouth. See below:

How bout we follow his example and do the same on the scale we can afford. Give it a try people, you will feel good.

In other words if you CAN'T afford to do this, then don't.

    :wallbash:

  2. So there's a chance it's all over your keyboard and you can't use it?

    GO BILLS!!!

Exactly. People are making assumptions like they KNOW what happened to Fitz, but we don't.

Was the early part a fluke?

Did he struggle due to injuries around him?

Did he struggle due to an injury of his own?

Did teams just "catch on" to the Bills?

I don't know, but IMO he certainly looked good enough in the beginning of the year to deserve at least another year at the helm. Only Drew Bledsoe threw for more TD's in a season than Fitz in the last 2 decades, and Jim Kelly only threw for 25 or more twice in his career. All that with basically 1 WR to throw to. Just saying, give him a chance.

How quickly people forget how much better Fitz is than our recent QB's such as Edwards, Losman, Holcomb, Rob Johnson, ect... Would you rather go back to them?

  3. Yes. All-Pro.

And yes. There are several teams that have them.

GB, Pitt, NE, NO. You know, the good teams.

    Hey Maddog 20/20,

GB has an premier DE and LT?! Really We all know Pitts oline sucks(including LT). NE has an premier LB, CB, WR. Really? N.O. doesnt have a premier CB or LB.

  4. I don't know why people are blaming it on Evans. It looked like he had possession of the ball and the defender made a great play. If the defender hadn't punched it out, it would have been a catch....no fault of lee's if you ask me.

Sucks the Pats made it in....again....god I hate them

Maybe cuz he is also blaming himself. He should have made that catch and he admits to it.

  5. Saw a story on the jets on ESPN regarding, an anonymous quote regarding "Sanchize" and the need for competition to light a fire under him. Seems the source thinks Sanchez knew he wouldn't be benched for a 50 yr old backup(Brunell)so he wasn't studying as hard or working as hard as he should have. Complaints about him posing for pics instead of working toward being a better QB and leader. Aslo said he hides in a hole when critisized. At least we were on the way to Division championships and SB appearances when we were labled the "Bickering Bills". I feel like the window is closing on them. The LB's are old and slow, the OL has regressed badly, LT is washed up, the WR position is a mess with Plax(34-35 yrs old) and Santonio is not a leader. They can't run the ball effectively and the Dl hasn't been the same since losing Jenkins. Any thoughts or comments?

Yes one comment: I hate the Jets and hope/think they regress even more next season.

    :nana:

  6. Hate to burst some bubbles, but Brandon Jenkins is staying right here in Tallahassee for another year.

I lived in Buff for the first 22 yrs. of my life and Tally since(22 more yrs). I'm glad he's staying. Along with Xavier Rhodes and Reid, this D has the potential to be even better than last season when they were #4 in the nation. Werner is an animal in there. On a side note, I wouldn't mind Bradham as an ILB with a mid round pick. He looked pretty good over the last half of the season and in the Bowl game.

I voted Upshaw @ 1....I think even if the Bills, in our wettest of dreams, blew Buffalo's collective mind and snagged Williams from Houston, I would still take Upshaw. This kid is the real deal and will be a force in this league, IMHO.

I voted for the sake of voting in Rd's 2 & 3, but let me know your thoughts on these guys @ those spots:

Rd.2 - Chase Minnifield; CB, Virginia. He may have done enought this year to garner a top 40 selection, but who knows. He's a true CB that'll stay @ CB in the NFL. Not huge, but bigger than your average corner @ 6' 185. Good speed and ball skills.

I also like Trumaine Johnson @ CB from Montana, but he may transition to Safety in the NFL. He's big @ 6'2" 204, but may be a step slow and have problems keeping up with speedier NFL receivers and their double moves, but that remains to be seen.

If, by chance, Mohammed Sanu is still there, he's my favorite pick and would be a steal. I think this kid is going to outshine Blackmon, Jeffrey, Floyd...et al.

Rd. 3 - Joe Adams; WR, Arkansas - Smallish @ 5'11" but packs 190lbs. on that fram and dude can flat out fly. The definition of consistancy with great rac capability. He's got a great burst into his breaks that causes good seperation. Also, returned 4 punts for TD's this year and is the only player in the NCAA that recorded receiving, rushing and multiple punt ret TD's. Looks to be a prototypical slot WR in the NFL.

I like Chase also, he has good ball skills and is a good tackler in run support.

  7. Last I've heard it's a QB driven league. Dalton last I checked took a team to the playoffs, yes with Green's BIG help along with a decent defense which nobody talks about. I am not bashing Aaron, but I do think Dalton is a good pick which obviously differs from other opinions.

Maybe I should have titled it "Would you have picked Dalton over Williams"?

Why do everybody here bash and show so much negativity and so much seriousness? Relax, sorry for posting, geez.

If I came off as bashing, my bad. Not my intention.

  8. Aaron Williams looked like a luxury pick at #2. But look what happened to our DBs...McGee hurt again, regression from McKelvin (poor coaching IMO), Florence outright sucked, Reggie turned the Corner and hasn't been seen since. Williams was a great pick in hindsight and will be pro bowl once/if the defense gets tough upfront.

Refusing to pay DBs like Greer, Clemens, Whitner, and Winfield caused the Bills to continually expend high draft picks on the same position and miss out on players like Dalton and many others. The issue with our defensive backs is squarely a front office finance management issue but that has had repercussions throughout the roster.

Jason Peters, Pat Williams, Marshawn Lynch, and London Fletcher trades/releases are other instances of mismanagement. By refusing to take care of your producers and you release or trade them and have nothing in return. Resulting in attempting replace players that you developed with unproved draft picks. Compounding this with poor draft strategies the team just suffers for years. We wind up spending high draft picks on RBs and DBs instead of the guys upfront that win every game.

Hopefully Nix was right when he said he has no spending cap/limit like in the recent past. This regime looks like it will keep the productive players. He also sounds like he will use FA to help out. Still build through the draft, but loosen up the strings for FA.One can only hope.

  9. The first thing I said when he was drafted was I like it. We needed talent on this team and he was the most talented player coming out of that draft when it was our turn to pick. He is already way better than Lynch. Nix and Gailey took over a team in bad need of an infusion of talent, everywhere on the roster. Even though we had Lynch and Freddy, we needed talent and they chose the BPA. No one knew Freddy would play lights out like he has when Spliier was picked and Lynch had his issues with the Weed and running people over and leaving the scene. Spiller is a really good person on top of his talent. I'm not the kind to say I told you so, but... :nana:

the spiller pick was obviously terrible - if you won't admit that you are just being foolishly stubborn

he's not even among the 15 running backs in the league (perhaps even lower) - that caliber of running back can be obtained MUCH later in the draft

good teams don't draft running backs that high in the draft these days

the worst part wasn't even the reach, it was the fact that there were so many areas of greater need on the team tat needed to be addressed before adding an additional running back

it was the fact that there were so many areas of greater need on the team tat needed to be addressed before adding an additional running back

The whole team was devoid of talent. So, tell me what pick would you have made? And I'm giving you the benefit of hindsight.

  10. I know this is easy to say in hindsight but,

The Bills drafted Williams 2nd Round, 34th pick. Guess who went next? Dalton to the Bengals as 35th pick.

While Aaron may yet turn into a solid player, who would have guessed Dalton developing into a solid QB this quick?

Kudos to the Bengals for doing their homework, and yet an another one slips by the Bills.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2011_NFL_Draft

and yet an another one slips by the Bills.

The Bills did there homework too, Aaron was a great pick at 34. IMO.

I know this is easy to say in hindsight but

Especially on this message board. It's annoying to keep doing this, to me.

  11. He was also "NoSaint".

Barnett was a great pickup, but the Merriman connection is dubious. When Detroit took someone else (Tullich?), the Bills were Barnett's likely only option.

I'm not going to look it up and provide a link but I remember reading Barnett saying that talking to Merriman had a effect on him coming. I'm sure there are teams out there that could have used him this year. Options may have been limited, but we were not his only choice.

  12. I wish I could share your optimism concerning Merriman. I know he hasn't forgoten how to play football, but after two surgeries on the same Achilles, I'm not holding out much hope.

Pretty sure he only had one surgery on the achilles(this season). Last season he hurt it and was put on IR(no surgery reported that I could find). This season he said he would have surgery and that he felt lucky because he would get the surgery done before it actually tore it. He said it was a small tear ,but not a rupture like Spikes had. The surgery he had before this was for a knee injury. I think because it was a small tear and not a rupture, he'll come back strong.

  13. Rogers has been a nice addition. I think we can officially declare McKelvin a bust as a CB.

I think with a better pass rush, McKelvin can be a fine CB. He was drafted by DJ as a Cover 2(Tampa 2) corner. This 3-4 is a different animal and with no pass rush for most of the season our DB's were in trouble. Revis would not do as well here without a pass rush to help. I wish Rogers luck if he draws the Welker matchup. You gotta hit Welker on the line before he can get into his (usually precise) routes and mess the timimg up. Not sure Rogers can do that.

  14. Oh really, Fairy Godmother? Name a single decent OLB or speedy WR who will be desperate enough to come to Buffalo when he hits free agency. What speedy WR wants to extend his career by having Fitz throwing to him downfield about once every other game? What decent OLB wants to have his edge set by Spencer Johnson?

Yes, I am stating the reality that Buffalo is an unattractive destination for free agents.

As to your draft analysis, I can agree with the first round. And maybe the second round NT that you want (but I prefer another linebacker), but after that, I think you should draft OT higher than WR. 5th round wrs are better than 4th round OTs. And for sure, this team has needs other than Safety. Hell, we need RB more than safety, and LINEBACKER more than anything on planet Earth.

What decent OLB wants to have his edge set by Spencer Johnson?

Spence is actually not bad on the line, the problem is you've been seeing him play as an OLB. He's too big and slow to be an OLB, but because of injuries we played him and Carrington out there. spence can play a 3-4 DE well enough, not OLB though.

5th round wrs are better than 4th round OTs.

    What?!?!?!

  15. I agree with Florence when he says "you can be a hall-of-famer, bro." Great player, great leader, best draft pick since...??

At around the 1:05 mark Florence was also reminding the D that they want to spread them and run it. I know this is a Marcell topic, but Florence is a player we need to keep. Not sure of his contract, but he's a pretty good CB and a team leader. Hopefully Marcell takes his words to heart. One more thing, doesn't Marcell sound a little like Charles Barkley?

  16. yea were the Buffalo Bills, we don't need no stinking true center for one game. Why? because we suck and it no longer matters. Besides, I think Moorman should be at a second position, the bum comes in for one play every offensive series, and it's always the last play. Whats up with that? Can't he at least be one of our 5 wide?

Soooo, after losing your starting center and his backup, where do you propose to find this true center for one game? :wallbash:

  17. I'll admit... at the beginning of the season, I really thought Evans would have a huge year and really help to tramsform the Raven offense. Whether due to his injury, attitude, or whatever, I was wrong.I also, FWIW, really thought OchoCinco would have a career year with Brady throwing him the ball. Again, I was wrong. It reminds me of the old adage that free agents are more valuable to their existing team than to a new team. There is definitely some truth to that, despite the few examples (Sproles, for ex) of FAs really helping their new team. It's also Preseason thoughts like this, that remind me... I'm just a fan and no GM. So, like it or not, we gotta give Nix a chance to do his job and just hope he's better than a fan.

I was with you at the start. I even drafted both of these guys in my FF league. 7th and 8th round. Got even by drafting Freddy in round 6.

  18. Kelsay isn't bad, but I just don't see him as a guy to lead the defense forward. He cannot play OLB, but George Edwards really isn't bright wnough to move him back to DE. Tebow really is bad. I hate when people continue to make fun of him because he can win, and then there is us. Tebow really isn't that good, but it will take Denver a few losing seasons to figure this out.

I'm not here to say keep Edwards but to say he's not bright enough to move him back to DE isn't fair IMO. Gailey has been saying all along that using Kelsay, Spence and Carrington at OLB is out of necessity(not enough 3-4 OLB on this team). Kelsay would be a decent 4-3 DE but we are commited to the 3-4 and have drafted that way the last 2 drafts. I'm fine with the change to a 3-4 because DJ drafted players to fit a Tampa 2. Most of those players would have been let go even if we were drafting for a 4-3. I know tha Tampa 2 is a 4-3 front but DJ did a horrible job of drafting evevn for a Tampa 2.
