  1. And the 44 yrd Sproles TD before it, where he had him dead to rights, but somehow never got a hand on him.

Now that's the Donte I remember!!! The difference is SF has a better team and can mask/hide his deficiencies. Whenever he blew an assignment with us, it stood out because the chances were we couldn't make up for his mistakes. Safety play is definitely better w/out him.

  2. Witty as the above comment is, I know he was in the pro bowl, I never said he wasn't (he made it as an alternate). I asked do you really think he is all-pro caliber? Rhetorical question, since you have pronounced your love for him several times.

Most of us who have watched him in Buffalo saw a guy that couldn't cover, couldn't catch, and often whiffed with his "body bump" style of tackling (like when he was Benched a few years ago in favor of our current starter, who played far better than Donte this year). His team got better in SF, but not him. Watch the 4th quarter of the saints playoff game as an example.

I don't "hate" Donte, but have never been a big fan of the way he plays, or his attitude. George Wilson has played amazing football for the Bills, and I am very happy with the CURRENT situation at the position. The Bills upgraded.

I was over Donte as soon as he left via FA. But I do want to say that Alex Smith and Vernon Davis saved his ASS with that last second TD to win the NFC Championship. Donte wiffed on a pick attempt that let the TE(Graham) score what we thought was the winning TD and looked silly wiffing on another big hit.SF would have been just as good, if not better with our saftey back there. Just saying.

  3. "The Bills owner has said he's dedicated to the team staying in Western New York—is that really true?

If he wants the team to remain in the area, and there's a "group" of local investors ready to buy, why isn't he selling now?

It seems as though Wilson's ego won't let him live a day on Earth without being the Bills owner. No one said he would be exiled from the organization if he did sell the team to a Western New York investment group. "

This team is his life's work. Why would he want to sell it? He is still alive, you know. Ego?!? Well, if I'm Ralph I keep the team 'till my last breath. He's earned the right. It's his team/company to do what he wants. As a businessman, this old man knows what he's doing. You can always shop at another store.

  4. DeSean Jackson wants a new contract because his rookie deal has now expired. Yes he blew all of the money he had, but that is hardly relevant to his current negotiation except that it gives the Eagles a little more leverage in the ongoing negotiation. Bad example, and the word is ignorance.

Actually, he wanted a new deal while still under contract. Yes, it was his rookie deal, but he went broke and owes his agent mulah. After seeing reports and pics of receipts where he spent 10k in a 3 hr span at a "scrip" club, I think this is a good example. Is it relevant to his current contract negotiation? It sure is. Like you said, it gives the Eagles leverage knowing he is the type to blow money like that. They can portray him as an imature person who will lose his money again, then sulk when he realizes it. He definetly didn't play as well when this money issue was on his mind. As for being a spellchecker, you knew what he ment.

  5. Lasted barely a year? They were implementing it over two seasons. They obviously stepped back once they shifted more to 4-3 looks in mid-season, but 3-4 came in with Gailey. These guys are definitely off the mark.

Maybe he was talking calender year. Before you start, I got ripped for not distinguishing between a calender year and a season on this site. Season starts in Sept and the next season starts the following Sept. Start and end 1 season and begin the next season + a few games and it's barely over a year. Just saying.

Um Stevie Johnson started two years in a row.

    David Nelson has playmaking ability.

    Wanny isn't a new hire.

They switched to the 4-3 two years ago.

    Yeah besides that spot on.

They switched to the 4-3 two years ago. Really?!? I must have been asleep or drunk for two seasons. Damn beer.

At some point doesn't just the lack of talent be it speed, hands, etc. trump the fact that no coach

can help players who simply cannot start in the NFL. I am speaking of Nelson here. His biggest asset is his his cute Dallas girlfriend and scripted TD celebrations.Sorry but there is a reason some of these guys last to the 7th or are UDFA's. I have even less regard for most defensive players taken in 2010 by Nix. Almost a draft of complete busts yet some think the light will now go on with Wanny. Maybe, but I again see raw talent as the first and most defining thing a young player has going for him. All the coaching won't do anything if NFL caliber talent is missing. Here's hoping the Bills draft talent in April instead of the small school players, with potential script they sometimes have used with zero success. Perhaps some long needed pink slips in scouting have corrected that.

I think we all realize the 2010 draft wasn't that good, yet. I'm waiting 'till this season to see how Spiller,Troup,Carrington, and especially Easley work out. If our 1st 3-4 picks play well next season, I'll change my mind on the 2010 draft. Considering it was his 1st draft for us and how late the staff came together, I'll give him a pass(already have).Maybe I'm old(well, not maybe), but it used to take 2-3 seasons to evaluate a draft. I still like that theory.

  6. I'm not as down on Fitz as you, but I am as high on the OL as you. I'm giving him a one year reprieve based on the cracked rib factor. Have fun on here though because people like to disregard facts. The Buffalo Bills allowed the least sacks in the NFL, were 4th in YPC and 1st on YPC on 1st down. Yet literally more than half the people on here will tell you straight up that our OL downright sucks.

Bill Parcells used to say " you are what your record says you are", well we our Oline is what the #'s say. The least amount of sacks in the NFL can't be attributed only to Fitz, the Oline had something to do with that stat. This was also done with injuries to our 1st string LT, 2nd string LT,2nd or 3rd option at C,LG switching to LG and C, hell the only guy to play 16 games in his spot was RT. IF this Oline can stay relatively healthy, we will be just fine next season(hopefully we resign Bell). Going into last season, we thought the worst of our Oline, this season I'm just hoping for them to stay healthy. Having said all of that, I still wouldn't mind a LT early in the draft since Harrison is a RT to me. We need quality depth.

  7. Buddy asleep at the wheel again. I bet the titans called first. Typical Buffalo I'm so done with this team, Ralph is cheap, I think Brady just sneezed, Fitz isn't the answer and Stevie is more of a number 2

    Did I miss any?

So what if the Titans called first. So you're done with this team, just not done bitching on this site about us? Are you really done with this team?

    Here ya go:

  8. for all you there could have been a mix up on the route crowd.

Also interesting tidbit from the article, Belicheat wanted the Giants to have to use Manningham instead of Cruz or Nicks on the final drive...

I think Belichek was right to want them to use Manningham. That was one hell of a catch. He makes that catch 1 out of 10 times it's thrown like that. Cruz and Nicks were a nightmare to cover out there. It's pretty amazing with as bad as people say Brady played that if Brady and Welker connect on that pass, the Pats win the SB. No doubt.

  9. We already have guys that don't need to gain 20 Lbs of muscle that are road Graders (Brown, Colin OL 6-7 328, Rinehart, Chad OL 6-5 323) . I Don't understand your obsession with guards when that is our strongest position on the team.

I would love Decastro on our team, but not with the #10 pick. That being said, we need depth on the inside in case Wood is not ready. And Rinehard didn't look good on the inside,IMO. I would put Decastro in Rinehart's place in a heartbeat. He could play both guard positions. We really need a plan for the backup center spot in case Wood has health issues.

  10. I agree with the OP. We have a lot to look forward to as Bills' fans. The Bills should be players in free agency, this year, we have a ton of guys returning off the IR and another draft to look forward to.

On top of all that, there seems to be a changing of the guard taking place in the AFC. New England doesn't have a defense and Brady is getting old, Pittsburgh is about $25mill above the salary cap, Peyton might not be back in Indy, the Jets are imploding, and the Ravens will always be beatable as long as they have Flacco at QB. The AFC is ripe for the picking. Other than Houston or maybe even Cincy, I don't see any other teams on the rise. Now is our chance!

    Let's go Bills!!!!!

and the Ravens will always be beatable as long as they have Flacco at QB.

The Ravens are beatable as long as the WR's suck. Boldin is there only good receiver and he's not a speed/gamebreaker type receiver. He's a slot/possession type. Flacco outplayed Brady in the playoff game, but...Lee Evans and Billy Cundif kinda let him down. Kinda. IMO.

  11. Hey Ice,

You may have posted this already, but what was your thinking when GB lost in the playoffs after almost going undefeated? Anger, pain or maybe just an " oh well, we'll get 'em next year"? Just curious. Also, what do you think management will do this offseason as far as the Draft and FA? Thanks.

  12. Thats the way the industry works today. You need to fit the "image" first, the "talent" can be fixed later.

Lady Gaga apparently has a backround/training in classical piano I believe, yet she couldn't hit it big until she started appearing 3/4 naked in weird and crazy outfits.

Katy Perry was a gospal/christian music singer who couldn't get a deal to become famous until she "slutted up" and sang about "kissing a girl and liking it"

Theres plenty more examples of this and its not just woman in todays music. You could go back to KISS who were a flop when they moved away from their "stage show" and took the makeup off to perform. I don't think anyone would say that they would go see kiss perform their music without the makeup and stage show.

The industry follows the people and what they want to see. It's not the fault of the industry that the people want to see that kinda stuff. Gaga plays a pretty mean piano but nobody listened, so she did what the people want and now she's famous and rich. Same for Katy Perry. Heart started out doing classical music, but guess what? That didn't sell so they turned to rock. Aretha Franklin, same thing with her(gospil didn't sell). Your last paragraph says it all, it's not the industy. It's the people(fans). By the way, is Katy really "slutting up" if she is only kissing one girl? she didn't say I kissed one hundred girls.

  13. Kyle Williams had surgery to remove a bone spur (that he played through his entire college career) that was cutting into his achillies tendon. It's not like he ruptured his achillies or had similar problems like Merriman has.

I hear you on the KW thing, but Merriman says his problem was not a rupture or complete tear either. I think he said it was stretched, but not torn or ruptured. So I'm hopeful that he comes back healthy too. The medical staff seems to think so.

I'm gonna give you a little tip to help you along as a member on this board, most of those comments/posts about williams are started by a poster who eats crayonz, he is not a serious poster and comments like that are part of his persona

  14. In my opinion, the 5 dirtiest players/coaches in NFL History were/is:

    1. Jack Tatum

    2. Hines Ward

    3. Buddy or Rex Ryan

    4. James Harrison

    5. John Gruden

I excluded owners because the list would be too long.

Hines Ward? Was this cuz he broke someone's jaw on a legal block. Or is it cuz he always smiles when he hits someone? Man, that was an awsome block(keep your head on a swivel).

I would not have had Ward on the list. Plenty of aother dirty players to choose from. Rodney Harrison comes to mind. Dirty player in his days and now is a hipocrite(sp) on TV. Tha's one guy I was happy to see go down with a knee late in his career.
