    Jones wasn't playing anything close to the way he was playing the first few games this season either, ever, in 9 prior seasons.  Doubtful he would have kept up that pace.  He didn't in 9 seasons otherwise where he was pretty average.

    White for all intents and purposes hasn't been around since the 2021 season.

     

    Milano's a huge loss.  Beane doesn't take nearly enough heat for that obvious potential situation.  They have exactly what they wanted, a bunch of diminutive LBs that specialize in pass coverage.  If they didn't want that, why did they put it together like that.  The fact that they (apparently) gave little if any thought to what happens should Milano get hurt is entirely on them.  

     

    And McD, were keep being told, is some kind of defensive guru, despite fielding an average 17th ranked scoring D over 6 seasons in Carolina.  Yes for some reason poor Clappy will be hard pressed to put it all together.

    So, what would you have done? Please be specific, cuz all you do is B word in general. About any and everything. 
    What would the great @PBF81 have done to make sure every spot on this team is covered for injury with another starting caliber player? I mean every other team has that. Right?!?

    Yeah, losing an all-pro lb and cb, along with the starting dtackle that seemed to be pro bowl bound are nothing but excuses. No reasoning behind those thoughts.

    I thought the point was clear.  Maybe it wasn't.  I'll restate.  

     

    The only win against a decent team was against Miami.  It was a two possession game until Mostert fumbled giving us a FG just before the half to put us up by 17.  Say he doesn't fumble, and they go down and kick a FG before the half instead.  Hardly unreasonable given the way we've played in pretty much every other game since that one.  We're up by 11 rather than 17 at the half.  

     

    Suppose Tua doesn't throw that pick in the mid-3rd that we converted to a TD already in FG range.  Suppose they drive down and get a FG or perhaps even a TD.  Instead of us being up by 21, we're up by 11 or even only 7 at that point and it's a completely different game.  

     

    That's what those 2 TOs did for us.  I don't think it was wrong, simply putting the perspective of those TOs in there.  There's absolutely nothing in our play dossier since then that screams out once we're up by 7-10 the game's in hand.  LOL  If people have a different perspective, great.  It's not mine.  And given that that emotionally hyped game, common for us early in the season, was our only solid game over an opponent that's even going to sniff the playoffs much less making them, to me it's relevant.  Not sure how else to put it.  

     

    TOs, and there shouldn't be any disagreement, are not something that can be counted on for winning games.  "Creating TOs" is obviously good.  But if I were to tell you at the beginning of the season that we'd only win games when we have a + TO margin, how confident would you be in our record?  

     

    Either way, great, so let's agree that it's wrong.  It's still way way way out of the context of the original point.

    You do see how ridiculous you sound with the bold, right? You have to.

    Taxing?! What? Why forget that game when that’s all I responded to. I didn’t say anything about any other games. 

    To the 2nd paragraph, again I was replying to a specific sentence by you. But, yes winning games is a positive. I’m guessing more people here think it’s a positive, lynch mob aside. Lynch mob people like you complain about wins, even weeks later. Dammed if they do, dammed if they don’t with you and your crew. You’re probably still complaining about an ugly playoff win last year vs Miami. 

    To the bold: 

    I specifically replied to the following from you: apart from two TOs could just as easily have won that game.  
    Extrapolate based on one game? Stop it. It was a direct reply to your ridiculous statement. Miami didn’t just gift us a game. We won that game and made them turn the ball over.

    We should also have easily been able to beat the Jets sans Rodgers, New England with Mac Jones, and the Giants with a plate full of slop there.  We lost two of those games and barely beat the third, and didn't play like we should have.   

     

    I'm not sure it's possible to troll in that regard at this point.  

     

    The only team with a postive Point-Differential and a record better than 3-4 that we've beaten is Miami, and they played  us comparably and apart from two TOs could just as easily have won that game.

    The Chiefs have played 4 games where they scored 20 points or less. We have three, yet Dorsey needs to be fired. SF 17 points scored in 3 consecutive games, yet Dorsey needs to be fired. Ok, sure. 
    Save your excuses for them. They can’t be reasons for them and excuses for us. Fire those oc’s too. Right?

    Lots of talk today regarding the hail Mary and the bills letting the bucs back in the game. I have somewhat of a hot take regarding the end of these games. Our last 3 games (giants, pats and bucs) the bills have somehow managed to let teams get in a position to win, and in the Pats case, they did win. We all know McDermott loves his timeouts at the worst times, but I think it's deeper than that. I'm starting to think McDermott calling defensive plays AND trying to manage the team under 2 mins is too much and/or too confusing. To his credit, that IS alot of responsibility. When the game tightens up at the end , maybe McD needs to either hand off defensive calls to someone else, or have someone else manage clock/timeouts. This trend is definitely new, and I feel like this could be part of the reason. The raiders, Washington and Miami game were all well in hand with 2 mins left. 

    Can I have some eggs and sausage with this hot take?

    I hear ya. I am waiting on this "tough" stretch coming up. I think we do better than some expect here.

    If we are honest with ourselves, a case can be made we should be 0-4 in our last 4 games during our weakest part of our schedule if not for some luck on the final play of the Giants and Bucs game.  It is crazy how we put ourselves in these situations, especially in a game we should have won with a blowout but shot ourselves so many times in the foot this game that we allowed this hail mary attempt to even happen in the first place.

    Glass half full here. Let's acknowledge the good too. Hardy ran a punt return to their 25-30 yd line and we scored a TD not too long after. We can also make a case that we could be 4-0. Lost to the Pats on their last drive. We lost to the Jags by less than a TD after they got to spend 2 weeks in London to get acclimated to the time difference and no jet lag. We could easily be 4-0 in this stretch. JMO.
