  1. This guy better knock it out of the park with his OC and DC selections.
  2. Wow, did not see this coming. It's going to take a lot of heavy drinking to try to get myself to like this choice.
  3. He didn't bring anyone in. That was the job of the GM, Rod Graves, just as it was when Green was HC. Why do you not understand this? Yes - Leinart, Anderson, Hall, Skelton, Lindley all sucked under Wis. Guess what? They would suck under Vince Lombardi. This is the entire point - the man had absolutely nothing to work with. As Ozymandius said, when he did have Warner at QB, he flourished, which is something that Green could never get Warner to do. As a matter of fact, he took the entire team Green had (that Rod Graves built) and led them to an 8-8 record. The next year, Superbowl. I think this discussion with you has run its course. I can't even begin to explain how simplistic it is to look at 2 coaching records (6-10 and 5-11), point at one and say, "this coach is better."
  4. I think you're right, I do recall something about the Bidwell's now. I just remember Warner was only average in the Green regime, and the fans started clamoring for a change.
  5. Ahh, the old cracked ribs excuse for Fitz. That one is up there with Lee Evans performing well as a decoy. What was cracked with Fitz this year? Nice, with all that talent Green must have really improved the team his 3rd year. Whoops, he went 5-11 again and got canned - way to build that team. You didn't even cherrypick his stats correctly. Bring in Warner? Green was the HC when they drafted Leinart. Well, they had to draft Leinart because Warner was completely ineffective with Green at the helm. Warner did flourish when KW got there though, hmmmm.... I would assume his players came from the same place that Green's players came from, Rod Graves. The only difference is that KW was able to take the personnel that Green had all the way to the Superbowl, while Green was winning 5 games a season (and this is a coach that had a .610 winning % in the previous 10 years as you pointed out). You're completely delusional, but what should I expect from a guy with a Cowher avatar?
  6. Hold on, are you saying Gailey was lucky to have Fitz on the roster? Huh? Oh wait, I think you're the guy that said Dennis Green was reason for the Cardinals turnaround. That was great stuff!
  7. Last time we hired the only candidate.
  8. They probably had a handshake deal with Reid in place and - this is important - both agreed on the numbers. Once the rough numbers are agreed on, you can go ahead and cancel your appointments. I know you guys don't want to believe this, but Kelly is the next Browns coach - the Bills and Eagles are just leverage for his agent at this point. He is saying everything his agent wants him to say to get a few extra $$$ out of the Browns. You can now either A) go to sleep, or B) start ranting how things will never change until Ralph is gone.
  9. Nah, you don't cancel interviews until you sign.
  10. From all the secondary talk it's pretty evident that this deal was in the works for some time now. He has obvious ties to Joe Banner - the Bills aren't losing him to a more glamorous city or a stronger organization.
  11. No, just fluent in English.
  12. He's saying we missed out on the next Belichick. Except instead of using the name "Belichick," he replaced it with "surly, cheating, Marcia-lover" or something to that effect. I haven't seen anyone disparaging Kelly. Read before you rant.
  13. He's talking about Belichick. See the Marcia reference?
  14. ^ this. People need to stop quoting every idiot on Twitter.
  15. Cards plan to interview Haley
  16. My father would tell me to play for whoever guaranteed me the most money.
  17. When did you determine they were on the verge of being a winner? After Green's first 6-10 season, or the following back-to-back 5-11 seasons? Warner? Green was the HC when Leinart was drafted btw. Still waiting to hear who these coaches are that could change everything for this org.
  18. ESPN is reporting that many of his assistant coaches would also follow him, and that getting the right OC would be key.
  19. Don't keep it a secret, tell us these names. Exactly! Look at his team this year, it's obvious you haven't. Skelton? Lindley? They started off 4-1 when Kolb was still alive and beat the Seahawks and Patriots. Keep him away from personnel and get him a QB. Although the QB thing will apply to any HC we hire.
  20. Basically just a random player taking a guess. Quentin Groves Tweeps I'm just giving you guys my thoughts and opinions, no sources, just seems like a great choice to me!
  21. Well tell us PastaJoe, who is this proven winner with a solid track record that isn't another losing team's castoff? We're all ears. And if you are delusional enough to dare say Cowher, you may as well just go post in the "Jim Kelly/Thurman Thomas are buying the team" thread.
  22. Just for the heck of it, here's one more: Bill Belichick Season Team Record 1991 Cleveland Browns 6-10 1992 Cleveland Browns 7-9 1993 Cleveland Browns 7-9 1994 Cleveland Browns 11-5 1995 Cleveland Browns 5-11 That looks like a head coaching career that's DOOMED to a bunch of 6-10 seasons...
  23. Are there people out there that actually believe there are coaches with 14-2, 13-3, 15-1 records just waiting to come here? Seriously, are you waiting for a coach who went 14-2 last year to come to Buffalo? I got bad news for you. You can't just look at a record, you have to look at what that coach had to work with. As I said earlier, you could make the argument that there isn't a team in the NFL right now with less talent than AZ. I been watching football since they were the St Louis Cardinals, and let me tell you they have been one of the worst run organizations in the history of the NFL. You think our 13 year playoff drought is bad? This is a organization that went 30 years without a double-digit win season. They were that insignificant. I never thought I would see a Cardinal team anywhere near the Superbowl, but there they were. You can sit here and discount it all you want - they played in a weak division, they had a HOF QB, etc, etc, but the fact is they were one play away from winning The Big One, and Whis was the guy on the sidelines. I don't personally think he is the best choice for us, but he's hardly as bad as some people are making him out to be.
  24. No, it's not worth repeating.
  25. I forgot about Petersen. Still, this Bills team has far, far more talent than the Cards.
