  1. My read is that defensively we are going to steal a couple of Jets. Probably someone like Mike DeVito and maybe an aging vet like Bart Scott, whose biggest asset would be to help install Pettine's D. Signing TJ is a good move since he's played in a West Coast offense for 6 years, but if that $4.5M price is correct, that's kind of surprising. I still don't know if it's leverage to get Fitz to take a pay cut, or maybe the front office is crazy enough to keep both at a $15M price tag? That would be insane, right?
  2. Every time someone posts Ryan "Garbage Time" Fitzpatrick's stats God kills a kitten. Here's a challenge: Name 2 WRs of the 2011 SEA roster without an internet search.
  3. Wow, you are reading far too much into this. Whitner could play for the Chiefs and he would still be despised - simply because he is a loudmouth blowhard. If you think the anger towards Whitner is stemming from his draft position, then you have completely missed the boat. What irks people is the gaggle of fools that still cheerlead for him even to this day. The gloating that you see in this thread is directed at the forum posters that still think it was wrong for us to cut him. The anti-Whitner threads you see are directed at forum posters that surface when he makes the occasional physical hit (rarely). These threads a fun way to goad the Whitner Fan club, you can recognize them - they typically chime in with comments like "Just let it go already," and "Why do you still care?" 4. Thigpen's contract is up, so yeah. That's the easiest $10M he's ever going to collect.
  5. TJax was winded last year.
  6. If we take a QB 8th overall tack on another $3.5M lol
  7. You got that backwards. The Bills front office cares about cash savings, so that's why it matters. What doesn't matter is what anyone here cares about. We don't sell games to Toronto because the fans love it.
  8. The $450K is only the cap savings. The actual cash savings that we won't have to pay him is over $7M.
  9. QB Jackson re-signs with Bills “I spoke with Ryan (Fitzpatrick) and Tarvaris (Jackson) and told them we will have an open competition at the quarterback position – similar to what we will do at all positions on our team heading into our offseason work,” said Marrone. Ummm, that does NOT sound like they are ditching Fitz. Cue the freakout.
  10. http://nyjetscap.com...s/bills2013.php Yeah his cap figure was like 4.5M, but we will only save ~2.2M this year with ~2.3M in dead money.
  11. He was a good CB, too bad he couldn't get healthy. The league is hungry for CBs, he'll get signed by some team with cap space.
  12. Tannenbaum just gave Sanchez an extension last year. Yeah......ouch The deal includes $20.5 million in guarantees for 2012 and 2013 and $40.5 million in "new" money, bringing his total over five years to $58.25 million, according to sources. He can make an additional $10 million in escalators. The $58.25 million gives Sanchez the seventh-highest financial package among NFL quarterbacks, sources told ESPN senior NFL analyst Chris Mortensen.
  13. The Internet never forgets... Fitz deserves to be paid like a No.1
  14. I like to compare Ruff to Andy Reid - both very good coaches but it's time for a change of scenery. I'm much more alarmed at the extension of Regier. This is the man that gave Ville Leino $27M and is paying Stafford $4M a year. He's also invested far, far too much money in defensemen while not focusing enough on skaters that can put the puck in the net. If Vanek goes down this team might not score another goal this season. And Terry gave him an extension?
  15. How many different PEDs do you think Landry is on? He's built like a brick sh*thouse.
  16. Well, there is the small matter of saving $7M+ in actual money that we don't have to pay him lol
  17. Levitre wants to test FA, it has nothing to do with the Bills "wanting him." Of course they want him. It's in Levtre's best interest to field other offers from other teams. What agent wouldn't want that kind of leverage at the table? FA starts March 12 and you can bet Andy will be one. It's the nature of the business. I've touched on this in other threads as well, but I'll say it again - there is about 0% chance he will get tagged. The tag price averages in all linemen and comes in around $10M+ this year. Not only would that make him the highest paid guard in the league (and piss him off), but it's also higher than most tackles make. Even our front office isn't that incompetent. On the other hand the tag price for safeties is a reasonable $6M+, so that means it is extremely likely you will see Byrd in a Bills uniform next season, one way or another.
  18. This has absolutely nothing to do with Mario Williams. Agents have been trying to get the best contracts for their players since the inception of free agency.
  19. The vindication is directed at every card-carrying member of The Donte Whitner Fan Club - those who feel the need to start a thread every time Donte makes a hit i.e. Pierre Thomas. How long you been a member?
  20. How about this one? "Andy Levitre made it pretty clear at locker clean out this morning that he intends to shop for the best offer in free agency. Smart move."
  21. What has he done at OLB to draw that conclusion?
  22. Fitz pads his stats in garbage time against 2nd string defenses when we are getting blown out. Week 1 NY Jets Fitz 8/15 for 75yds 0TD and 3INT. Score NY Jets 41 Buffalo 7. In comes 2nd stringers and the Jets give up playing D and all of a sudden Fitz 18/32 195yds 3TDs LOL I seen that happen all too often over the past 2 years. Fitz wouldn't have cracked 15TDs last year if it wasn't for garbage time. Spiller catching a 2yd screen and running 60+ yards for a TD doesn't hurt either. Put the Fitz stats away, they are meaningless. Go back and watch him on tape, that's all you need to know.
  23. That's just....insane for a 275 pound man. That's faster than some WRs. No doubt the combine will vault him to a high 1st round pick. Jason Pierre-Paul was also a product of the bobble-head hype machine, and that's a much better comparison. Both have similar size and weight, neither started out playing football, both had less than mediocre stats playing for small schools against weak competition, i.e. both considered more hype than substance. Nix would never in a million years take the risk on a player like Ansah 8th overall. If we pick him, then you know someone else is running our draft.
  24. If disappointment is a factor, than Tony Hunter would be a lock for the TE spot.
