Jordan Poyer Discussion - Does he stay?
3rdand12 replied to Warriorspikes51's topic in The Stadium Wall
I was am using his age as part of the equation. But I also knew your counter is fair. Suggesting this defense could and should tweak some parts of the scheme, especially with Edmunds gone and Poyer not fare behind ? And to be fair , we dont know what Micah can bring or how long. Hoping for a return to awesome of course. But this season that back seven might play a different game. Since Bills defense under Frazier was fairly figured out last season. appreciate your fair opinion MrE -
I dont think Allen needs the Best O line if football. Get middle of the pack would be enough for him to take over the rest Go Bills
-
yep I know , but he is going to get another year until Bills actually have someone who can replace his ability to call out play. Bills need to find a guy to replace him and they still need a starting guard or two. Mixed emotions about Bates and Ike. What Connor's role becomes i am not sure. But he is a better guard than Saffold right away !
-
I might be wrong but there are 64 starters at guard and plenty of guys that rotate in over a season for whatever reason. My math aint so good , but top 15 is actually "top end" of the spectrum. And honestly , i always try to stay positive when change occurs. And I am quite sure he is an improvement of Roger ( I was gassed) Safffold LOL

Not my choice , but have already moved on from Rachel and her husband Was a good ride though for both sides 🙂 -
Upgrade from Saffold who can start. Young enough to have upside. Its hardly a bad move. But it's also not a definitive move at Guard . Lets see what Kromer can do with him/ Maybe he turns out to be Morse' replacement in a year or two ? We are going to need that solved as well Go Bills

Matt Milano Contract Extension, as per Adam Schefter
3rdand12 replied to SCBills's topic in The Stadium Wall
Agreed ! -
The blend is key. Vets can often be the mentors. Thats part of why it is critical to grab the ones with skills and mindset to teach and lead Hyde is the brains of this defense, even if it gets tweaked. We saw what happened last season when we lost him. I would never trade him . But we do need his protégé asap . and soon Poyer's next up.

Graham Glasgow, veteran guard, now available
3rdand12 replied to msw2112's topic in The Stadium Wall
We need upgrades and future state at nearly every position on the O line never hurts to Also improve the back ups. -
Mc Ouch I dont care if we have a small penetrator up in the middle Quick hand work and an early get off have not gotten the job done it seems. Skills to be sure. I would be fine with another D Jones next to the real one ! On at least two downs. Let the new MLB clean it up

Settle played well when not dinged. so i am not down on him. Jones was a beast for us. So overpaid ?? Ed and Jones are different techs and types (size too lol) so apples to oranges I think there LA But i surely agree this season is Beanes Boys and their biggest test yet ! Resolving the ones who leave. or not retained. And how the big holes are filled (Edmunds and Poyer ) Then fixing the weaknesses that O line showed because of Beanes. Q and Saffold were looking like bad effort at this point for sure

I need two emoji things for this OP and the thread created ! Awesome and Thank You 😉

if you can improve the depth ? and the money /contract works. You kinda have to. More to the equation of course Whatever it takes ! You can find some younger in FA i bet. That guy from the Titans Sal M. mentioned ? But it has to be fixed. And I too prefer getting starters or high ceiling guys in the draft. As long as Kromer can coach them up and they have the feet and hands and smarts(enough) -
I have no hate or dislike for Ed. Loves the game and has played hard for quite a few years. But if he is gone. We will find another

Vikings HOF coach Bud Grant passes away - Age 95
3rdand12 replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
This Man was one of the Coaches who allowed me to respect NFL football and its machinations. Just a classic. And one hell of a good guy RIP Bud 🙂 -
We are not going to be able to pay odell. and i dont like him and he has come off two similar injuries that are the worst type for WRs. I would almost prefer Theilen (sp) and draft a speed merchant al John Brown later in draft to develop and i dont like him lol agreed. i would have wanted him off the field after his bobbles and drops and alligator armed efforts
-
Sal mentioned Taylor Rapp. I liked that thinking very well. I also liked his LB choice from the Eagles. No older player please. stop gaps are not for me. Same with O line. lets get one we can keep for next 4 years because he is solid in pass pro and run game.

Is there any defensive player you'd be happy with at pick 27?
3rdand12 replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall
One beast starter at RG. at least. Maybe another guard who can graduate to C next year or two behind Morse But where do they find these ? this is the issue ! I am not against Def at 27 as long as the Fix/not patch, the RG and LG position. Bates might be part of the answer?? Gonna have to replace Tremaine it sure seems. Need a safety as who can play next to Hyde right away. -

Are they available ? And can we afford either of them ? LOL -
Per Shefty - Bills “expected to lose” Poyer and Edmunds
3rdand12 replied to BeastMode54's topic in The Stadium Wall
But this is where Coaches define themselves ala Andy Reid. Adjusting to player changes, Because it happens every year to every team, and you cant fight it -

Thats the reality of it. Even if Bills wanted to keep him. he will get paid handsomely because of all you listed. and Bills just really cant afford to pay any MLB that well. -

Dont be so fearful of change. Its a critical part of growing. Coaching will adjust. Thats what we pay them for lol Change is a constant in the NFL. and often times in Life Embrace it and the challenge it brings
