This has nothing to do with fantasy or style points. Simply dismissing how our offense looks and blindly saying it’s good enough to win a SB is simply naive. Inefficiency with the passing game is not a sustainable model of winning that you can rely on to take you deep into the playoffs or win a SB. If it was, we probably would’ve just kept Tyrod.

I’m not even going to try and suggest this has anything to do with our offensive struggles so far because I simply don’t know what Dorsey does and how it’s different from what he did last year.

Have you stopped to consider that people are being critical not because they don’t like Allen but instead because we want to see him be the best player he can be for as long as he’s here?

I’m not even looking for Josh to “take the next step” whatever that even means. It’s hard to be much better than he was last season. The part that’s concerning is that he’s erratic throwing the ball again. He’s overthrown a receiver wide open deep down the field for what should’ve been an easy TD. He’s underthrown guys, he’s tried putting too much touch on throws that require velocity. He’s just all over the place right now and looks to have lost a lot of the efficiency that made him one of the league’s best QBs last year.

Seeing lots of “he’s played tough defenses so far” Is that the bar we’re setting now?

He’s been mediocre at best and if we’re being honest he’s been bad more than he’s been good. This team is going nowhere if this is what our offense is going to look like. He needs to be a lot better. He knows that as well. It’s going to be a very long season if he isn’t.
