I think a lot of this is on Maybin really. Everyone discounts the mental side of football, the psychology. I think this is a kid (and that's intentional) who has serious maturity and self-esteem issues and was unable to deal with the pressure of being expected to be good from the get go. He obviously didn't perform well when he was told he had to EARN playing time and work to get better. He turned it around and dealt with it in a most immature way, he acted like he was being wronged. And that made a convenient excuse for him for not getting on the field. Couple that with what appears to be some issues at home with his family (a stillborn child I believe) and I think he just waunable to get focusd mentaly and lacked the maturity to rise above. This is a guy who came into the league with an attitude and a haircut stating how great he was. He felt like everyone should just assume his greatness and not question it. And when the team did, he felt attacked. And when the results never came, someone how it was the team's fault. And so he goes to a team with a loudmouth coach who kisses all the players a$$es and wants to be friends first and a coach later (That'll never win then anything BTW because there is a lack of accountability and responsibility there) and suddenly that change of scenery and that "Aaron you're great" a$$ kissing did him well. I think, honestly, he needed a change of scenery. But as stated above, he dosn't have to do anything but rush the passer. Here, with a first round pedigree, he needed to get better than that and be on the field more than pass rushing downs, which the Jets don't need him for. So the Bills' first round bust is a decent situational player for someone else. Who cares. And let's not let the Jets off the hook either. They cut the guy too and brought him back out after injuries. It's not like he made the team outright and they saw what the Bills missed. They could take a gamble with no lost draft pick and little money. Can we end the Maybin talk?

I second that. They had 30 plays to our 11 early in the fourth. Not giving up points is meaningless is you give up time and can't put your offense on the field. Wake up.
-
Who f*cking cares? The Jets have a defense, we don't. That's the difference. sanchez is as noodle-armed and inaccurate as Fitzputrid.
-
Wow this team is bad. As for draft position, that means nothing since they draft like garbage.
-
How is that the play call? Again, baffled by this play calling.
-
Huh? They are getting chewed up on the ground for lots of time. The D gets credit for getting off thed field in short order but a 6 minute drive that gives up 3 points is not worth anyone's admiration.
-
Blow this D up.... again

Exactly as I expected. No defensive stop after the turnover and a fieldgoal (I thought a TD was a certainty) and a pathetic, conservative, fearful offensive sequence once they got the ball back. Pyschologically, this team is a mess.
-
No, they're made contextually and at the end of a hlaf when your stupid opponent doesn't call a timeout, you punt it away and pin them down, which they did. On fourth and 1 deep in the opponenets territory when you're 6-5 and still in the playoff hunt and your opponent is giving up 10 yards a rush, you go for it. Both time, that's the right call. Not sure how that doesn't make sense to you.
-
You punt on that everytime. And the outcome proves it.
-
Wow, a coach with some guts. Who knew.
-
Touchdown coming for Titans, book it.
-
As soon as the third down play os over, which preserves the most time. It backfired. They hoped for a return that never happened and they instead had to kneel it. Any way you look at it, poor coaching and clock management. What would Belichik do?
-
Pathetic. No time out, give up the time at the end of the half and start the second on defense. The more I see of Gailey, the more I don't like him, and I did a lot earlier!
-
More pathetic playcalling. Call the timeout.
-
never understand the playcalling.

Well, I read recently that a minority stake was sold to a FedEx executive who supposedly was given the option to buy it all when Weaver decides to get out, with the stipulation the team must remain in Jacksonville. Does it make sense to buy that team and keep it there? If so, that's good for Buffalo's chances. If not, because you want them to move to save the Bills from the spector of LA, that's a double-edged sword because if they move, the Bills, even with a team in LA, remain a candidate to leave given the economic justification od a Jaguars move. Now PFT reports the buyer is Shahid Khan, who tried to buy the Rams and the team stays in Jax.
-
Yep they're not clutch but last time I checked fitz doesn't play or call defense. And he doesn't drop his own throws. 24 points should win you games in this league exept when your defense sucks and your prima donna WR drops passes in the clutch.

The Official Bills at Jets Game Thread

I want to be the first to congratulate myself for predicting they'd be 5-6 after this road trip. Of all the overly predictable Bills teams, this one takes the cake. I can call our own offensive plays and how the opponent wlll get a first down. You can call a third down to Keller why can't the bills? Week in and week it this team makes the same mistakes and same calls. You knew as soon as the jets got the ball back late they were driving for the winning score. We need two new coordinators. -
Patriots. No team is as well coached, as well lead from within the lockeroom, and has a QB who almost always steps up in clutch games. They win the AFC East with ease and at least a homefield playoff game against a team a wildcard team like the Jets, Ravens of Bengals that they'll sure pound. I hate them, but they are the model franchise and still look as good as anyone in the AFC after all these years. Great coach who is strong with the Xs and Os and drives a tight, team first team where you show up to practice and work and your draft slot and salary are meaningless when it comes to playingtime. Arguably the greatest QB of all time (hate saying it but its true). All held together by a top-notch, dedicated, owner.

No he won't. They don't upgrade via free agency, they build through the draft. That works we when the main assumption is you draft well. Theyre $30 mil or something under and needed upgrades all over and did little.
-
But it would have bought the upgrades they needed before these injuries

Bills could go 6-2 in the 2nd half of the season
zonabb replied to Jerry Jabber's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
9-7 as I've said in other threads. They lose, for sure @ NYJ, Dallas and SD (as outlined in ogther threads, they lose about 1 in 4 west coast road games). That's 6 losses right there. The NE game is likely a loss (they lost thier first home game in 21 last week and are basically unbeatable at home). 9-7 at best. Book it.
