Official Bills v Chiefs second half thread

Even a mediocre team would have beaten them today. The Chiefs are a fraud. The Bills did everything to give them that game, and I mean EVERYTHING. -

This has been the quintessential Bills game of the post Playoffs era. Bad calls in key instances from the coaches? check, Horrible gaffes and unusually inept plays at key instances? check, Bad QBing? check. Bad calls from the refs? check and finally bad refs decision on an obvious catch shown to be a catch on replay. check -

If they don't overturn this terrible call, the Bills should walk off the field. -

Is Matt Fynn so bad or so clueless in this offense that he could not have started? What is with Marrone's infatuation with Tuel? -

You don't have to be Nostradamus to figure out that rookie, might, just might make a bad throw that would result in a pick in that kind of situation. Play it conservative and get the 3 pts if you get stuffed. -

Wow I had no idea that a DB could grab a jersey and hang on to a receiver for 10 yards and that was legal. Thanks Dan Dierdorf! -

And so they get squat on 4th down and get a FG instead you get pick 6? That's better? -

Why put it in the hands of a rookie (who is pretty poor really) when you have two great running backs and a competent 3rd? Idiotic call by Hacket -

Look, the game is being given away right before our eyes. -
I think the Bills will finish just out of the playoffs again this year. And once again we will rue the excruciatingly close losses to the Pats, Cinci and the Browns. How many times have they done this to us in the last 13 years?

Annoying Announcers and My Thoughts
Livinginthepast replied to voodoo poonani's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It is wayyyy justified in this case. They suck as a broadcasting team. Perhaps I am deluding myself but the announcers back in the 70's and 80s were epic sounding AND knew the game! -
in the CFL!!! I guess he ran out of money? Still deluding himself about his potential? http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/story/?id=435191

Annoying Announcers and My Thoughts
Livinginthepast replied to voodoo poonani's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The hilarious thing is about Gumbel and Dierdorf is that they are considered to be one of the elite broadcasting teams and they are utter crap. Vapid is an excellent word to describe the both of them. For a sport this big why aren't there better announcers who can .....ACTUALLY SEE THINGS HAPPENING!!! let alone comment with some insight on them. It is just embarrassing! But its not just the commentators who are the problem. Fox's coverage of the game yesterday was just poor. Twice the Bills were penalized for important fouls that kept drives alive and twice these penalties were not shown on replay. Its as if the guy in the truck didn't think it was necessary. On one of the penalties, the Hughes one for holding, the penalty was a complete joke. But we never got a chance to decide for ourselves because we got no replay and of course mysteriously those two boobs in the booth didn't mention it as if it wasn't important. I have noticed this on several occasions on Bills broadcasts and other NFL games. The standard for production and commentary has plummeted it an abysmal level. -
The Bills do seem to be really obvious sometimes in their flagrant fouls. The Facemask on Brees today that negated an INT was so blatant. However I think this team is unfairly targeted by the refs for completely bogus penalties. The one on Hughes today that gave the Saints a first down was ridiculous. Hughes was actually rammed into from behind within the 5yd bumping zone and then accused of holding. Of course the clueless Fox coverage didn't bother to replay the imaginary holding at all.

Funny how almost 34 years later I remember the controversy about that play as well although I couldn't remember the exact way it happened. Good thing there is youtube! Seeing it again what a terrible call that was by the refs. Oilers were robbed of a crucial TD in a very close game. They probably would have beaten Ferragamo's Rams in the Superbowl. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1gCFx5jC_q4

Did the ST coach call for a returnable kick
Livinginthepast replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I would love to know how many years the Buffalo Bills have taken off my life since I have been a fan. I felt physically ill watching that last 30 seconds just waiting for yet another kick in the teeth. That kick was yet another example of either an idiotic coaching decision at a pivotal time or horribly executed play once again at a pivotal time. This special teams coach should be fired anyway for all the gaffes this season. They have lost 2 games because of terrible punt coverages and unbelievably they almost do the same with the game on the line on A KICKOFF!! Only in Buffalo! -
NYJ vs NE overtime thread
Livinginthepast replied to Buffalos#1Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That was a totally bogus call. I hate the Pats so its good to see them get jobbed but at the same time how can the refs perceive that was cheating. I thought they called the Pats player for lifting up the guy in front of him to block the kick which is an old penalty. But they call him for pushing his own guy through? was that the actual call? Bizarre! -
Mario Williams deserves props
Livinginthepast replied to Captain Hindsight's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I slagged him last year for being invisible but he has come around and deserves a game ball today! -
I remember that epic AFC championship game in the 79 season against the Steelers. I really thought the oilers were on the brink of being champions despite losing. Instead the following year they fell to pieces with Ken Stabler against the Raiders. After the Bills the Oilers were my favorite team of that era.

What!?? Mooreman did a very high punt on that kick in OT. There were 2 Bills within 10ft of the return man on either side that completely screwed up on the coverage. Not to mention the Holding/illegal blocks from Cincy on the play. Its the Special Teams coverage schemes that have to be improved and players who can tackle properly need to be out there.

Geno Smith MNF - Falcons/Jets
Livinginthepast replied to BringBackFergy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Atlanta sucks, period. They choked last year in the playoffs and have buckled under this year to the Dolphins and the mighty Geno. Speaking of which Geno did have a good game but that was more indicative of the swiss cheese secondary of the Falcons and their lack of cojones overall on the D. EJ is better than him. I think the rest of the season will show Geno for what he is... mediocre!
