Elam a healthy scratch part deux (now part TRES) (now part QUATRO)

He’s always been a fairly workaday run defender. It’s only 2 weeks, but I can recall any play where he hasn’t had good coverage. -

What have you seen from White to think he’s struggling? Would you be happy with a potentially great one with White, Benford and Johnson? Like are people not paying attention to how ***** good Christian Benford has been? -

Taron Johnson’s contract runs out after next season, and Dane is a RFA after this season. Kair isnt going anywhere, and I think he’ll get a shot to compete with Taron Johnson - who plays a lot of man - eventually, perhaps next season Corners are a lot more valuable than RBs and I think Kair is gonna work out. Too much cover ability to not. -
Bumping this. the offense is going to be better than last seasons, there’s potential for the defense to be, and the Bills still run this division until they don’t

I think they’ve been the consistently best commercial maker for like 2 decades now

Well. They were 28th in DVOA last season.

Why aren’t the Eagles just hammering the ball in the ground

Have you ever tried to seperate from anything with a high ankle sprain? What did PFF say about his sophomore year?

Man I was all set to switch to Netflix

Is it me or do the w refs blow the whistle real quick on forward progress when a WR has the ball. That was basically a practice stop on JJ

Minnesota was perhaps the worst 13 win team in history. They needed a series of miracles to win that game in Buffalo. Al Michaels already said it. Mean reversion. This was always a 500 or sub 500 ball club
-
That was purely a coverage bust. Corner was playing cover 2 all the way

So I wonder running backs universally hate Jalen hurts. That was swifts TD. Doichey move by the OC to not give him a shot at the TD
-
You want Josh throwing that ball to Davis on that play.
-
I think the Peyton Manning OC thing is pretty overstated. Not even Brady was really doing what you suggested. The other thing is that the Bills didn't have playcalling problem against the Jets, and like most veteran QBs, Josh has checks he can goto based on looks. But that really wasn't an issue. All of Josh's problems really came down to a handful of plays with either bad choices or poor ball placement which put them in bad spots.
-
The one forgivable "decision" on an INT was the 3rd one. In that play Bills ran a smash concept (3 guys running routes to the sideline at 3 different levels), Sauce dipped into the low zone coverage in, leaving I think Davis to run that corner route - with leverage - on Jordan Whitehead. He read that perfectly, but that was really bad ball placement which led to that INT. Shouldn't even have been risky throw even, because that ball goes up the sideline, and instead Josh left that behind Davis. Thats a throw I'm confident he puts in a decent spot 9 out of 10.

I think Kubiak was actually measured in his analysis. He didn't pull any punches but at the same time he didn't ignore the fact that for stretches of this game Allen played very well. And yes Allen made several of his patented elite throws, scrambles and runs. One thing that stood out to me was Allen's decision not to run for the 1st down on the play he launched the deep INT. IMO this is a problem of coaching. In their zeal to cut down on Allen's runs the Bill's brain trust risks compromising one of Allen's great gifts. I want Allen taking that run EVERY time. The coaches need to reinforce that in that situation Allen should tuck the ball and head down the sideline. I don't think that's what that was. the Guys at Cover1 I thought nailed this pretty good, Josh didn't check the off safety (Whitehead), and just assumed Jordan was taken up but a dig route on the right side - White didn't give a crap about the dig and bailed deep as soon as the right sided WR shoed that dig, and faded back into the EZ. So because Josh didn't check Jordan, he thought he had Diggs 1v1 on that deep post. If Jordan had been checked by the dig route, that's at worst an incomplete, and at best an elite play by Diggs to come down with it, which he's capable of doing. But ultimately, Josh needs to check that far safety and not make an assumption.

This is wildly reductive. If anything the Steelers Wk1 Game was worse than the MNF game. A game where the Bills were incapable of protecting Allen, he threw the ball 51 freakin times in a low scoring game, and your RB who avg 6.5 YPR only got 11 rushes. Like, lose me with Brian Daboll Master God of Football and this is why Josh Allen is struggling now

Don't do stupid ***** and we'll be fine

It's not a must win for standings purposes. But a loss to this Raiders team, with the offense playing like it did against the Jets, means there's deep structural problems with the offense, which suggest we need to re-calibrate our expectations in a division with 3 excellent defenses. However, I don't at all expect that, and the not Josh Allens played reasonably well to really well against a really good D in NY
-
And I didn't actually have much of an issue with it against the Jets. In fact I was mostly happy with all the skill players. The Jets set out to take away the deep ball. The short and intermediate was there for the taking, but we didn't have a QB with enough patience in the 2nd half.
