  1. Top 2 corners, best linebacker out. DEs forgetting HS lesson of keeping contain, and a single bad INT by Allen, drops by the WRS, and a really physical football team and a QB who simply doesn’t make mistakes and this is what you get move on, just a blip. Last thing - I LOVED how Allen responded to his bad INT
  2. Murphy has a cap hit of $9,775,000 with with a dead cap hit of $1.75M, do s savings of about 8M. Bills have $4.4M in Cap space, so they can save 12.4M in cap space with those moves. In a trade, to get a 1st and a 2nd round pick, the Texans would agree to convert 3-4M of his current salary into a bonus, which means they'd eat that in cap space, freeing him to come to Buffalo
  3. That's now. He doesn't have a dead cap hit this year or next year. The final 2 years of his contract. Let me offer a rebuttal to your main point though. While I agree he's had some recent injury problems, when he's been healthy, he was elite in 2018, and elite in 2019 week 1 - 8, prior to tearing his pectoral (which is more of a freak injujry, and not at all related to his historical back injuries) https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-rankings-the-nfls-top-25-edge-defenders-ahead-of-the-2020-nfl-season And he's been really good THIS year as well
  4. We don't really play an OLB. Base D is a 4-2-5, and the two backers are hybrids who have run support, blitz and coverage responsibilities. Hence both Milano and Edmunds both being plus athletes. The difference is that Milano is a bit more reactive than Edmunds right now, though Edmunds gets way more criticism than he deserves. If you really want to get rid of Edmunds, while keeping McDermott as coach, then you're going to have to draft Micah Parsons or something. Not a lot of backers who can play that position in this defense.
  5. Texans badly need to clean house on their roster. and they should be looking to move everyone but Watson and Tunsil Problem is that you need to cut someone from the 54 to get him, and I'd rather keep Trent Murphy
  6. You want a semi-realistic fantasy trade? JJ Watt. He has a 15.5M cap hit with no dead cap penalty (which makes it a lot more appealing to the Texans). The Bills would either trade (but likely cut) Trent Murphy, saving saving about 8M in Cap space, add that to the 4.5M in cap, get the Texans to convert 3M of his salary to a salary bonus, send them a 21 1st, and a 22 2nd, and the Bills would have a stud DE, who they are free to extend or cut in 21 with no dead cap penalties.
  7. Linebacker isn't the problem. The pass rush is. Wish I had some next gen stats for the Raiders game, because I thought D was getting to Carr a lot quicker in the 2nd half, and that coincided with the Raiders offense slowing down. Exact opposite of the first when Carr had time to pick the zone apart. I mean zones aren't designed to defend 5+ seconds of Playing time. In the NFL, WRs and RBs are 50 yards from where they started in that time. This is why I wish the Bills were aggreessive in going after Clowney and ngakoue
  8. Score early and often, and get Tannehill throwing on 1st down
  9. Will this basically be a national game then or will blackout rules apply? Because I won't be able to catch the important parts on RZ
  10. Oops! I thought I saw him more against LV. at least he got to spike the ball on a Josh Allen TD against the Jets.
  11. What this also means is that while I would have liked to see the Bills use their first rounder on an EDGE, OT might be a bigger need as I assume Daryl Williams will price himself out Buffalo’s pandemic salary cap. Bates is getting some PT I noticed and I’m wondering if that’s in prep for him competing for the RG spot next season so they won’t have to pay Brian winters, who’s also entering FA at 29, and should clear $3M he’s getting paid now as a starter on a good team.
  12. That’s fair and I don’t know enough OLine technique to actually offer a deeper analysis, but in the Rams game he seemed to have done as well as reasonably expected against Donald
  13. Eh, they're probably going to end up getting good value for him If you look at PFF's best guards - Quenton Nelson - 1st Zach Martin - 1st David DeCastro - 1st Joel Bitonio - 2nd Brandon Scherff - 1st Roger Saffold - 2nd Joe Thuney - 3rd Ali Marpet - 2nd Shaq Mason - 4th Kevin Zeitler - 1st Graham Glascow - 3rd Larry Warford - 3rd I think getting a good starter in the 2nd is pretty good value. He wasn't a first so you wouldn't neccesarily expect him to be a top 10 kind of guy
  14. Got beat on the break, but that was also a perfect throw. Tough to defend
  15. Pass rush folks. How often the D ALMOST got to Goff, only for Goff to make the pass? Pass rush needs to get there a split second faster, and McDermott may need to commit to more blitzing in distance situations. An offense like the Rams with a good QB and good WRs and a good schemer in McVay, they’re going to find 15-20 yards in a heavy zone with little pressure. Bills might regret not getting in on Yannick or Clowney this off-season. I’m not too worried about the Run D. That’s more of a concern without Josh Allen, where we play from behind consistently. Also the Run might give up some plays, but for the most part they’ll make enough plays where it comes down to stoping 3rd and long. That’s pressure Our corners aren’t a huge issue. White got beat noticeably once on a play where he was asked to chase a fast WR clear across the field - an impossible task on that one. Sure Levi gives up some plays, but really this D got killed between the hashes, and that points more to the safeties, backers and again - pass rush
  16. Lots of misdirection than the bills struggled with in the run game, but rams running isn’t why the Bulls collapsed in the 2nd half. That would be the Rams converting down and distance and the Bills struggling getting to Goff
  17. It's not Knox that will give the Bills brass a 2nd though about trading for Ertiz, I think its Gabe Davis. Kid has bigtime potential as a big target in the RZ, and making difficult contested catches in the intermediate and short areas.
  18. If they keep the cap at 175M, then Bills, and everyone else, will be screwed. I am going to guess the cap will be closer to 205M. 175M is just not sustainable for teams. If the cap is 205M, then the Bills shouldn't have to worry too much about re-signing the middle class of their roster.
  19. You raise a good point here, I forgot about COVID, and figured the CAP would be in the 210M range. If it's set at 175M, there's going to be a huge contractions of vets. We wouldn't be be able to replace most of those players.
  20. Mario Addison (+6M) Vernon Butler (+6.8M) Lee Smith (2.3M) Give you the space to resign Milano to the 21 cap. You extend Allen to impact the 2022 cap, where they'll have about 80M in space assuming trading and then extending Ertz, re-signing Milano, with White, Diggs, and Morse all signed. You can structure Allen's extension in such a way where a HUGE chunk of it goes into the 2022 cap. The 21 Bills are going to be loaded. The 22 Bills should have a very solid base, with Allen, Moss, Singletary, Diggs, and Ertz as your offensive core, with White, Poyer, Edwards, Oliver, AJ, and Milano still aboard, and about 30M in space to fill the roster. 23 Allen's hit starts to fade, and you get your Oliver hit. In the meantime, you're drafting RTs, WRs, and Safeties to protect against the purges in those positions.
  21. Cole Beasley + 2nd would likely land Ertz, in terms of balancing the cap. You would have him running those middle, possession and seam routes instead of Cole as well, and you can do more with Gabe Davis. You can extend him in such a way that you probably limit his cap hit to 8-12M, or put another way, 2 - 5M more of a cap hit than Cole Beasley the next 3 years. Basically, this is not a huge deal for the Bills. They can easily work around this. Especially considering Ertz is an absolute stud. The Bill haven't had a SB window since Jim Kelly retired. They have one now. They should do pretty much everything to maximize that opportunity. The CAP isn't a huge blockage, a low 2nd round pick shouldn't stop you. Upgrading your slot, seam and middle from Beasley to Ertz is absolutely not going to stop you.
  22. Far better target, though I'm not sure we could make that work without making a serious cut
  23. Looking at their cap I think the only way that would work would be if they sent back one of Devante Adams, David Bakhtiari, or Corey Linsley. They have a ton of Dead Cap space
