  1. I too get annoyed when people say "just buy a ticket and go the game!" I live 123 miles from the Ralph yet if the game is blacked out I don't get to see it because my CBS/FOX stations are Rochester. It is hard enough to get by each week with enough for gas and groceries. I would have to spend $60-$100+ for a ticket, $25 for parking, $30 for gas and tolls just for ONE game. If I could afford it I would try to go, and I have gone once each of the past 5 years. But I feel like the blackout policy punishes fans like me who want to watch their team play but legitimately have reasons why they cannot go.
  2. I love visiting the Carolinas, just a beautiful region. Love the beaches. We went to Myrtle Beach for our honeymoon and last year visited the Outer Banks. People there seem more friendly and more relaxed that in NY (maybe it's a southern thing?). If I ever moved there I could see myself rooting for the Panthers (but still a Bills fan, of course). I like the blue/black color scheme. I agree, this always seems to get brought up for the Bills too (example: 6-10 would have become 10-6 if we won those 4 games that we lost by a score). This happens every year. Really though, if the team was good enough they would win. Period.
  3. Running CJ up the middle on 3rd & 1 is what brought up the 4th & 1... I understand hindsight is 20/20 but by that point it was clear that CJ was getting stuffed on inside runs all day and Marrone should have gone with another call. He is not the type of back to burst through the line for a tough 1 yard gain.
  4. Kind of a lame stat. Bill Belichick's patriots have a 76% winning percentage against rookie quarterbacks. (13-4) Bill Belichick's patriots have a 72% winning percentage against non-rookie quarterbacks. (138-53) 4% increase against rookies. Had his Pats lost one more game against a rookie QB and his winning % would actually be lower for rookie QBs vs non-rookie QBs.
  5. Pats 35, Bills 28. Bills are down 35-21 with a few minutes to play. EJ almost mounts a comeback by scoring in the last couple minutes to make it 35-28, but it's too little, too late. The onside kick after fails and the Pats hold on. But the closeness of the game gives us fans enough optimism that things are looking up in Buffalo.
  6. I would think if he wants to be traded he would play and try to play well. If he plays well that would help him get noticed by other teams.
  7. If Tuel starts I see the Pats winning big... until I have reason to see differently the issue is our defense. Despite some vaunted big men on our Dline we seem to get pushed around in the running game year-in and year-out. This will force us to stop the run which in turn will open up the passing game, exposing our secondary. Brady will torch our D. We will give up big chunks of yardage on the ground and in the air. Now yes, this is our home opener and we will have the crowd + emotion to carry the team out of the gates, but just watch how quickly that can evaporate once we are in a hole. Nothing against Tuel, I like the guy and hope he proves me wrong but I see lots of incompletions and 3-and-outs to set up New England. Spiller alone isn't going to win the game for us, especially if NE stacks the box against him and makes Tuel throw. I think the game will be closer if EJ starts but he is not going to win in a shootout with Tom Brady, and that's what this likely will be. (Hope I'm wrong)
  8. The Monday night game against the Pats where McKelvin fumbled the kick... I have never felt sicker after a sporting event.
  9. It is genuinely exciting every time CJ gets the ball. Trying to remember the last time I felt that way about a Bills player (other than say Roscoe Parrish or Leodis on punt returns). On the last drive, I thought to myself that it was only a matter of time until Fitz throws the game-icing pick. That said, the loss today cannot be pinned on him. Still, you have to wonder how a better quarterback would have done in that situation.
  10. When I saw the ad I thought the Bills are "determined" to play spoiler? Really? Hmm, seems like there aren't many people on the Bills determined to do anything this year. We probably won't get to see it anyway - unless the unthinkable happens and we win at NE, this game will be blacked out.
  11. The field goal on fourth and short was very frustrating. Yes, you're on the road, it's hard to score points... but seems like Chan was playing "not to lose" rather than to win.
  12. This is a classic letdown game. Bills grind out a tough win on the west coast, feeling good, then come home to a 2-4 team that has gained some momentum from their win against Pittsburgh plus having extra rest... Chris Johnson goes over 100 yards, Hasselback does enough to not lose the game, Fitz does enough to not win the game... Bills lose a heartbreaker, 21-19. (Hope I'm wrong)
  13. The defense doesn't really seem to have an identity. On paper the D looks stuffed with talent/potential, especially the line, but during the game they just seem... outmatched, out-muscled, out-hustled... is this really our team? Where are the players that are fired up? Where are the players that demand accountability from each other? Where are the vocal leaders, lighting a fire under their teammates?
