  1. Schwartz had one of the worst special teams unit in the history of the sport with Crossman as his special teams coordinator and he didn't think much of the issue had to do with Crossman (like Marrone). Point being, that won't happen.
  2. Their defenses where consistently undisciplined in his tenure as HC.
  3. I don't hate it, just conflicted about it. I do prefer Schwartz to Spags who was also rumoured about the Bills DC job.
  4. No it can get worse by having an avg of 2.5 penalties/game for 1st downs to 3 penalties/game for 1st downs for example. Something like that would be a HUGE issue.
  5. IMO Schwartz team vastly underperformed to their talent level.
  6. Who lead the NFL in the most penalties that led to actual 1st downs? The Buffalo Bills.
  7. It's the undisciplined 15 yarders that have been the issue with the Bills this year. A problem area with Schwartz defensive and head coached teams. Schwartz defensive unit in Detroit I found took penalties at the worst times.
  8. Now we have two headcoaches on the Bills that deflected the blame on Crossmans special teams...interesting.
  9. Schwartz's influence doesn't bode well for the penalty issues on this team, specifically the defense where it was the major issue with the team. I have very mixed feelings on this hire.
  10. I was too. The interesting thing related to the Bills in that press conference is that he credited Marrone for teaching him non-football related things. We don't know whether they are "friends", we do know they are very familiar with each others work and have had a lot of success working together. Marrone admitted Crossman was his friend.
  11. Pettine was the only coach in the last decade where I said to myself when he was hired this isn't a typical Bills hire.
  12. Choices I would be happy with in each category: DC with experience: Wade Phillips First time DC: Keith Butler (LB coach of the steelers for 11 years)
  13. Unlike Marrone I like to hear Pettine talk. Good stuff there JR.
  14. Very true. Another thing about Wade is that the units he takes over there is no drop off in year 1 of transition with him as DC. He actually improves them.
  15. Congrats Mike Pettine. Well deserved!
  16. She went full derp...that's what twitter does.
  17. Mario Williams has left Buffalo and is now on a plane to Seattle.
  18. Agree but I will be rooting for Pettine. Great, great DC coach and wish him the best.
  19. That's an excellent point. ...and if you block a guy that either wants to follow a coach or a promotion, you perhaps might end up keeping around a disgruntled employee
  20. That's my gut feeling right now as well. With their core (and with the cap space to keep who they want or add in FA), the way the front office has set themselves for future flexibility and more importantly this up and coming draft will be a game changer for that franchise.
  21. Yup! ...before someone says the Browns traded up to get Trent in the first place, this wasn't the front office that made that decision to get him in the draft.
  22. "Casual football fan": We fired our HC after one year and now have hired the Bills DC. What a disaster.
  23. Agree completely that if they land a QB in this draft they can easily be a playoff team in a year. Add to that all the cap space, picks they have set themselves up to be competitive for many and many years. There is a ton of flexibility in this roster.
