In the grand old days of yore when men were men, the BBMB ran wild with crazy Bills fan (whatever happened to Happy Sperm Whale?) and the internet was powered by Clydesdales (Budweiser not Bud Lite) I used to surf Hail Redskins. That has since been expunged by the language police. Then I discovered East Coast Sports whose website was as primitive as a 1980s arcade game but with excellent draft analysis. https://web.archive.org/web/20010413133210/http://www.homestead.com/eastcoastsports/ONE.html East Coast Sports was run by Al Fronczak who was once headquartered in none other than Buffalo NY. His mock drafts were strikingly accurate. Today I follow drafttek.com https://drafttek.com/

WR Diontae Johnson Available for Trade
stuvian replied to Warriorspikes51's topic in The Stadium Wall
His production with Big Ben was pretty good but if the Steelers want out there's a reason. Outside of Pickens and Freiermuth, I don't think the Steelers are committed to any of their skill position players. -
I think I have to bail on all offseason NFL media coverage
stuvian replied to The 9 Isles's topic in The Stadium Wall
A lot of teams would love to have our "failures". Many fans go on an internet diet at this time of year. One of the lessons of getting older is spending your finite emotional energy on things and people that are important. All these hot take screamers are vying for our attention by conflating every rumour into breaking news. Up until the draft I assume everyone who goes public with a news item, tweet or statement is lying. That maxim has served me well. Dear Aaron, why not start with playing four games as a Jet before all this multiple season mularkey. -
when they went into Baltimore and beat the Ravens with a backup QB I thought it was on

TBH going into the playoffs I feared them more than I feared KC.

DT Foley Fatukasi Meeting with Bills Today-Signed by Texans
stuvian replied to BuffaloBillyG's topic in The Stadium Wall
He have a spot for a DT with an exotic name since Starlite Lotulelei left. Junior Ah You agrees. Just learned Foley's brother plays LB for the Rams. -
Quality secondary play has been one constant as a Bills fan that I believe characterizes this franchise. Even in the Decade of Fail we had the likes of Jabari Greer, Stephon Gilmore, and Jairus Byrd to name but a few. McDermott has given us good secondary play and with Poyer and White. This is not a business for sentiment with how quickly careers are over and players move on but I appreciate what Poyer and White have done for this team.

it's a good thing Beane reads 2BD.

How does today compare to Black Thursday Feb 10, 2000?

in 2000, i didn't have a drawer full of useless Covid masks -
It was always a point of pride that we had the highest paid center in the league as long as we did but I never felt that we have had an elite o-line as a result.

Dave Canales is quoted as saying Carolina isn't the situation for Russel Wilson. He will eventually be quoted as saying it wasn't the situation for Dave Canales either.

In other news...Josh Allen rips pants in Paris
stuvian replied to SoonerBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall
I didn't know the tearaway jersey contract extended into the offseason. The good news is he can feel the rush. Lets hope his blind side protection improves. He may be there training for the Olympic hurdling team. Has anyone started a Bills relocation to Paris thread? -
I think we got Miller Lite

To understand the GMs job, read Ron Wolf's The Packer Way. Ultimately a GM has to assemble talent and hire a coach to get the best out of that talent. To be good at their job must be able to recognize talent. If the GM has not worked as a scout they had better hire those who have. Financial, PR and administrative talent is generic.

Shaw, you make it sound complicated. In Denver, all you have to do is write cheques. In all seriousness, I'm sure that there are very sophisticated technological tools to track players who are a fit for Buffalo's schemes, their injury history and contract status. The benefit of having organizational stability with Beane and McDermott is that they can be philosophically aligned as to the kinds of players and culture we are building. I'm curious as to the extent to which AI has become a part of play calling and decision making. There is still no software or test that measures heart.

Antonio Brown and Leveon Bell say hi

So the Steelers would rather waste the best years of TJ Watt on the likes of Rudolph and Pickett. While they don't seem like an all in for a one year rental kind of team like Rams, I think the Steelers with Wilson could have gone farther than they did with Rudolph and Pickett. I don't like the celebrity Wilson has become but I don't think he's forgotten how to play football either. If you thought your team had a short window to win and you could get Wilson for under 2 million a year why wouldn't you?

note to self...bet against Denver in your survivor pool this season
