  1. TT doesn't turn the ball over, gives the Bills an added threat of the run, and will continue to improve his reads and finding open receivers. TT is our best option for the next couple of years at least. He directed a decent scoring offense as well.
  2. I have been a Lynn fan since the rumors of him being the next hc began. I am confident he will bring in the right dc to make a legitimate run at the playoffs in 2017. He is more likely to want to retain TT which I also favor.
  3. I agree with much of what you stated. The exception is that the entire reason for the timing of the firing was to keep TT off the field to avoid injury. I also agree with other posts that Lynn looks to be the next HC. This makes sense. The offense was not the problem. If Lynn picks a suitable DC we could be in good shape next year.
  4. If you look at this season, if our defense had lived up to the expectations Rex created, We would have made the playoffs. With a stronger defense, we should have beaten the Seahawks, Steelers, Dolphins, and Raiders. If nothing else changes next year except an improved defense ( and obviously a new HC) we would have a strong chance to make the playoffs.
  5. What you have stated so clearly makes so much sense. I do not want to believe the Bills management is so inept that they would let TT go after this season with no viable successor in place to quarterback the team in 2017. The sad truth is, the are.
  6. Whether Whaley is retained or not, I believe that the coach should report to the gm, not directly to the Owner.
  7. I agree with you 100 percent. Retain TT. He will atleast be a bridge until the next "franchise qb" can be found.
  8. I have been on the fence regarding TT this year. After looking at his stats over the last 2 years, a strong case can be made for retaining him by picking up his option. TT QBR for 2016 to date is 89.6. That ranks him 17th. A solid mid level starting qb. He is rated ahead of Philip Rivers, Carson Palmer, Eli Manning, Cam Newton, Brock Osweiler, and the over paid Fitzmagic plus others. Other 2016 TT statistics In AFC conference games, TT ranks 16th with a QBR of 90.2 If you look at home games, TT QBR is96.5 and ranks him 13th. Division games TT QBR is 95.4 and is ranked 11th. Over the last four games (Raiders, Steelers, Browns, Fins) TT has a QBR of 94.3 Over the last 2 games (Browns and Fins) TT has a QBR of 113.4 which ranks him 6th. More recently, TT has been throwing over the middle and his ability to finding open receivers has shown improvement. I do not believe you can look at TT's total passing yards Y-T-D as an accurate comparison to other qbs. The "Ground and Pound" has limited the potential for racking up big yards per game. Also, with a decimated WR corp, any qb can only do so much. Comparing 2016 with 2015, yes his completion percentage and QBR is down, but is total passing yards 3,023 with one game remaining vs 3,035, Net passing yards 2,831 vs 2,823 and interceptions 4 vs 9, are improvements. TT is showing improvements in many areas of his game. He has a long way to go, but considering that we have few better options for QB in 2017 I believe we should retain him going forward by either picking up his option or renegotiating his contract. People on this board speak about continuity, Well having continuity at quarterback is a good start.
