Yep Plus they will have very little time left to call timeout. This is a pass defense only because they had to pass and if for some dumb reason if they do run they are burning a ton of clock and all the guys back would just come up to stop the run like they normally do.

why rush him then he takes off and runs for 20-30 yds anyway. Just one spy and double everyone else. Having two defenders on one receiver would make it very tough to find an open receiver let alone complete the pass.

There is no reason we dont go back, once a player gets a taste of success they want more, we were the best team in the AFC those four years and there's no reason we dont go back. Look at the Chiefs four consecutive AFC championship games, should have been us this year but didn't happen. Playing soft didn't help thats for sure but i do think my suggestion would make it harder knowing that they have to pass.

Since we are still upset over this i thought i would discuss how i would have defended the Chiefs in the last 13 seconds. The ONE would be an athletic DE or LB to spy on Mahomes and try to bat down the ball if possible and tackle him if takes off. He would be about 3 yard off the ball and i would use DE Greg Rousseau for this spot. The other TEN guys would be LBs and DBs double covering the 5 offense weapons. One guy would be pressing the Receiver on the line and the other guy 5 yards back and the two would be in man coverage on that one guy. I would have Milano pressing Kelce backed up by a DB. For Hill if hes in the back field then one bumps him when he come through the line and then the two best cover dbs on him. This would make it very hard for Mahomes to find an open receiver and if he takes off then you have burned a ton clock which is a major goal of this defense along with making it very difficult to complete a pass.

Hopefully Beane takes notes, huge mistake on not bringing in TE Zac Ertz, Knox is good but to have a better TE than him here could have made this offense special. Josh is great but he cant do it all. I agree but the record books will never say that , the Superbowl will determine the Champion, probably the chiefs.

not true he fired rick Dennison after year one You have to press the guys at the line especially Kelce . Double cover every weapon and keep one guy to spy Mahomes, id use Rousseau because of his height and athleticism. Not saying all the time but for the last drive.

We could use a different scheme, something a little more aggressive loved Schwartz and what he did here, we had a ton of sacks and could stop the run. he gets come back player of the year.

My thoughts exactly, dont know much about Dorsey but the teams seems to think highly of him and as long as Allen is here any OC will look good. Fangio is a great DC and is much better in that roll than HC, he is very creative with blitzes and coverages.
