I do think it was Trump that juiced the turnout. Ordinarily that would have been good news for him (see Obama 2008), but the difference this year is that Trump juiced not only his turnout but also Biden’s turnout.

Part of it was the animosity of the race agreed... but part I have to think was the ease of which absentee and early voting made it easier to find time to vote.  I voted in person but on Thursday before the election.  I wish I had filled out an absentee/mail in ballot and just dropped at the polling place drop box... would have saved me an hour and a half.... what a concept... making it easy to vote.  Only good thing to come out of this pandemic.

I can’t seem to find the Georgia Congressional Map, but did they really divide Atlanta? I would have thought that Atlanta only votes for one of the two senate districts.

Um you need to take High School SS over again.  US Senate elected state wide.  Both GA seats are up at same time because of a retirement of Isaakson due to health reasons Loeffler was apptd till special election to fill out till election for  remainder of Isaakson's term.  Normally a Senator serves a 6 year term.  Not sure if the Isaakson seat has 2 or 4 years left.

  3. The Patriots looked awful against the injured Forty-Niners. Cam Newton was clueless. Garapolo another former Pat QB, played decent with a strong running game.  More importantly the Patriots are without a bonified quarterback and look out they are 2-4.  The Pats couldn't catch a cold in this game.  On the flip side, Brady still looks like Brady granted with a much better team... but he is throwing darts.  I didn't/don't want to gloat too soon and I suppose the Pats could turn it around, but wow how the mighty have fallen.  Any thoughts and observations on how bad they are?  I guess we will see next week.

  4. Yeh problem is the incubation period before a positive test shows up... hence the two-three days of no positives... though it can be longer.  It will be interesting to see what happens with Pats and Chiefs and the Raiders and Bills...  may be a few more days before all clear can be given... dont be surprised if a few more show up on these teams too, esp the Pats...

My wife is a nurse and was shocked by all the hugging post game :(

Minimal?!?!  How many kids can't step foot into a classroom???  That's minimal?!?  Education is the core of growing up, not being able to be educated is not something I would call minimal.

Not really kids arent able to socialize... it is tougher on parents but I am betting this generation will be better prepared to working on their own and parents will actually know more about what their kids are being taught... I know my wife and I do... less breaks for us... school isnt babysitting them anymore.

Its funny Shady, I didnt care much for him last election and did not vote for him.

As for blind loyalty to the party Im not sure how many Dems realize how tired of the Republicans their voters truly are ! That is why alot of people supported Trump, tired of weak, cowering, go along get along Republicans that were to afraid to stand up for their voters and their own supposed beliefs. That is why Trump got elected, IMO. I still don't always care for his personality but at least I know he is a fighter and that he won't back down from the things that most Republicans will gladly acquiesce on. Happy to vote for him this time ! Also very happy to admit I was wrong about him the first time. Nothing to do with Blind loyalty to the Republicans though !

I get that he is a fighter though not in the military, but get that... just he shows no loyalty to his own... and to me that is the most vexing thing about his support.

That's a good question and I don't know of any definitive answer from any researchers or virologists.  My best guess based on other corona-viruses and similar viruses like the common cold is that "natural" immunity will be for a limited time.  Like if you get a cold and give it to everybody in the house.  You won't get it again right away but let 4 or 5 months pass and you might.  Whether a vaccine is going to be a lifetime immunization isn't clear either.  My guess it becomes a seasonal shot like the flu.

According to DOCs I have talked to T cells have memory even if antibodies are gone so immunity may last quite a bit longer as long as it doesnt mutate... how long they are unsure.

  8. Yeh, not the info medical personnel were given.

People infected with COVID-19 can still infect others after they stop feeling sick, so these measures should continue for at least two weeks after symptoms disappear.

PS, I think the protocols have changed... not sure.

Couple of points not made yet:

    1. The quarantine would be at least 14 days after not showing symptoms. If Trump is symptomatic then the second debate is in jeopardy.

    2. How many rallies did Trump hold when he could spread the virus? There are definately a high number of Trump supporters now at risk.

    3. This will have a massive effect on the Trump campaign. They will need to pivot away from their rallies. If Trump is right and the rallies are what drives out the vote, then that's more issues who a person really trailing in the vote.

1... not true we went back to work after 3 days not showing symptoms... 14 days from testing positive and asymptomatic

2.... how many rallies were infected at spreading the virus to Trumps and Hicks...they have been at risk for a while.

    3.... probably true

It’s not a left right thing. It’s a decency especially on the Internet thing. Twitter is rife with rancor that made the”debate” look civil.  Trump accuses Biden of pedophilia publicly.

It would be great if a group of Bills fans could be better but nothing at PPP suggests otherwise, on average.

In that vein I guess we should declare this National Clorox Day..

  11. Look, I had cancer last year... so far clean went back to work and contracted the virus... because I work in a Hospital just outside on NYC... so I am not surprised he contracted the virus given his anti-mask wearing agenda and am surprised it took this long for one of his staff to give it to him.   Shows you how much distance he has been given to people except those who are close to him.  PS I tested negative twice and a week and a half after symptoms tested positive for the anti-bodies.  I went to a hotel room as soon as I spiked a fever and my family did not get it.   I had a fever for 11 days 4 of which were a bit scary as my heart was racing,  bad head aches, lower abdominal pain and chest tightness.  TG I got through it.

I don't like Trump more for his personality, only policy some things like his stance on China I like... other things like his leadership on Covid and how he has dealt with race nope...  On the economy he is mixed for me.   If he would be such an angry putz... I believe he would be re-elected in a heart beat...

I hope in this case he feels symptoms like I did, but survives... I also hope it doesn't get into his lungs... at that point there can be permanent damage... also the weird clotting this thing does to people is a big risk for heart attacks, PEs and aneurysms.   If it is fake... grr... and twitter is awash with conspiracy theories that it is a campaign stunt.  Who knows.
