I was under the impression that the Pats picked him up. Surprised Reed is still out there. I thought he was no better than any other receiver last year. Still I hope our young guys step up and do well this year. We can always get faster and stronger.

While I understand that the AP did not have anything to do with voting, I do not necessarily agree with Cushing being on the ballot the second time around. There was a reason they polled the writers a second time - the winner failed a drug drug test at the beginning of the season. I can understand the AP wanting to stay neutral but I dont agree with it. My prerogative. I would also love to know why many of the writers voted for Cushing again. I hope their reasoning will come to light soon because I just cannot fathom why. You have a way to tell the world that cheating is dishonorable and the embarrassment and stigma that results from being caught will stay with you for life. It would have been another lesson not just for Cushing but for other young athletes as well. Suffice to say, I am disappointed in the voters. These writers are so quick to play up the news surrounded a cheating player, write about his lack of moral direction but refuse to do anything when given the power to send a message. I doubt it would've made a huge difference in the grand scheme of sport, but like voting every message counts. Just so we're clear, my views bear no reflection on JW.

I think a lot of that has to do with discipline as well. So when the kids are finally by themselves, they can make the most of the opportunities that come their way. Especially in a country like America.

Aggressiveness wont be a problem. Sustaining that aggressiveness like you mentioned, will be. I hope he looks up to his teamates as they do to him. Perhaps not in the same way. I don't judge.

I see what you did there. Its not enough that we reduce his identity to his ethnicity, we have to reduce it to his ...welll wang. What if he plays out to the Chinese stereotype (not that i condone or agree to such type casting)?. In the same vein as above, what if the promise of size and length is just that? What if he has performance issues, stage fright or what if he ends up coming sooner than expected? what if thats a disease that infects the entire line? .... boy...talk about a reach. J/K!!

However, I think I would feel a little more reassured were we to bring in a FA OT to show the young guys the ropes. I think its important for young developing players to have a veteran role model to show them certain things. One way of improving is to learn from the mistakes you make -- veteran help can help you reduce the number of mistakes you make in the first place.

No way is it ok to be asked questions like that, no matter how important or high paying the position. Can you imagine a question like that being asked during the vetting process to an important government post? Obama : Tim.....is your mother a prostitute? Timothy Geithner : No Sir.
