Obama's giving Boehner a verbal ass-kicking
....lybob replied to PastaJoe's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
The real question is why I bother to link or post articles or videos when it would be so much easier to say crap and never back it up with anything like many on this board including you Tom. -
I don't know the Moonies got like a million+ and they seem like a cult would they seem less cult like if they had 10mil or 100mil or just a bigger cult

I didn't care about the inefficiencies of the healthcare- the point was that gains in US life expectancy are slowing down and may even have started reversing and if the estimated year by year life expectancy from the 75 year projection are overstated it is another reason why the 62 trillion dollar figure is a nonsense number used to scare right-wing children. As for the inefficiencies of American health care we will do that later. -
yeah maybe the first twenty years

What an ass you are- my original point was that the life expectancy numbers used in that estimate to come up with an unfunded liability of 62Trillion may have been wildly optimistic- a 75 year projection is nonsense so getting your panties in a bunch about a number derived from a 75 year projection is moronic- Jesus Tom you have the attention span of a child or senility, does your wife have to help you follow the plot of "Murder she Wrote". -

For Immediate Release: December 9, 2010 Contact: CDC National Center for Health Statistics (301) 458-4800 Stroke Drops to Fourth Leading Cause of Death in 2008 U.S Life expectancy declines slightly according to latest CDC deaths report Stroke is now the fourth leading cause of death in the United States, down from the third place ranking it has held for decades, according to preliminary 2008 death statistics released today by CDC's National Center for Health Statistics. While deaths from stroke and several other chronic diseases are down, deaths due to chronic lower respiratory disease increased in 2008. There were 133,750 deaths from stroke in 2008. Age-adjusted death rates from stroke declined 3.8 percent between 2007 and 2008. Meantime, there were 141,075 deaths from chronic lower respiratory disease and the death rate increased by 7.8 percent. Some of the increase in deaths may be due to a modification made by the World Health Organization in the way deaths from chronic lower respiratory diseases are classified and coded. The National Center for Health Statistics will conduct a thorough analysis on this change and its effect on the chronic lower respiratory disease category before the final 2008 deaths data are released. "Deaths: Preliminary Data for 2008," also finds that life expectancy at birth dropped slightly to 77.8 years from 77.9 years in 2007. Life expectancy was down by one-tenth of a year (a little over a month) for both men and women. However, black males had a record high life expectancy in 2008 of 70.2 years – up from 70 years in 2007. The life expectancy gap between the white and black populations was 4.6 years in 2008, a decrease of two-tenths of a year from 2007. The data are based on 99 percent of death certificates reported to NCHS through the National Vital Statistics System from all 50 states, the District of Columbia and U.S. territories. Other findings: Heart disease and cancer, the two leading causes of death, still accounted for nearly half (48 percent) of all deaths in 2008. In addition to stroke, mortality rates declined significantly for five of the other 15 leading causes of death: accidents/unintentional injuries (3.5 percent), homicide (3.3 percent), diabetes (3.1 percent), heart disease (2.2 percent), and cancer (1.6 percent). In addition to chronic lower respiratory disease, death rates increased significantly in 2008 for Alzheimer's disease (7.5 percent), influenza and pneumonia (4.9 percent), high blood pressure (4.1 percent), suicide (2.7 percent), and kidney disease (2.1 percent). The preliminary infant mortality rate for 2008 was 6.59 infant deaths per 1,000 live births, a 2.4 percent decline from the 2007 rate of 6.77 and an all-time record low. Birth defects were the leading cause of infant death in 2008, followed by disorders related to preterm birth and low birth weight. Sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) was the third leading cause of infant death in the United States. Overall, there were 2,473,018 deaths in the United States in 2008, according to the preliminary deaths report – 49,306 more deaths than the 2007 total. The age-adjusted death rate for the U.S. population fell to 758.7 deaths per 100,000 in 2008 compared to the 2007 rate of 760.2. The full report is available at www.cdc.gov/nchs. ### U.S. DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES For you Tommy I'll spoon feed it. But of course one year don't mean much but you put all the coming obesity related illness together with end of life pneumonia that may soon become untreatable by any known antibiotic and we could go to a period of declining not rising life expectancy. -

life expectancy poliifact -
7-9 with a ho-hum Free agency, an awesome Free agency could get them to 9-7, a 3-3 split in the AFC east is a possibility, New England and the Jets might both take a step backwards but I'm expecting Miami to take a small step forwards, the NFC East isn't what it was- still too early and at anytime the Bills could totally disappoint in Free agency.

you do realize this scary number brought to you by Rep Frank Wolf is 1. a 75 year projection 2. already been revised downward by 13 trillion dollars 3. not like a mortgage where the payments are set in stone but the terms of benefits may be changed by congress at anytime. 4. based on life expectancy figures that may be very overly optimistic. -

I don't get the philosophy, when you don't pay good players you end up overpaying mediocre players- I'd rather overpay a great player 3mil than overpay three mediocre players a mil each -
If Poz leaves, will you be upset??
....lybob replied to Scrappy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If I'm worrying about the LBs it's not individual players as much as taking the group as a whole from 230-240lbs type players with 4.7-4.8 speed to 245-255lbs type players with 4.6-4.7 speed. -

My bottom line on POZ is when he got hurt and wasn't playing I didn't notice- I never once thought hey our defense was playing great now they're playing like crap ooh POZ is hurt that's why. I don't mind retaining POZ but I'm not getting in a bidding war for someone who I don't notice whether he's playing or not. -

Because they are run by scientists, and engineers who are afraid of social unrest instead of MBAs, and lawyers who are afraid they missed a bribe somewhere. -

As much as I'd hate to see a world wide economic crash there would be something karmic and deeply poetic about the Richy Rich corporatists being brought down by their own faux populist movement. -

Not kidding at all Bush waging war in two countries Obama waging war in six counties Bush's medicare part D was less a corporate give away than Obamacare Bush claimed the right to torture foreigners Obama claims the right to assassinate American citizens. Obama is willing to cut Social Security, medicare and medicare, in amounts that Bush never even dreamed about. Obama has collected more money from Individuals working for finance, insurance and real estate than either Bush or Romney. Obama has run an even less transparent government and has gone after whistle blowers harder than bush. American CEOs have had record bonuses despite being "nervous" Obama is perfect left cover for corporations. -

Don't be so sure it wouldn't get a Presidential signature - I think Obama would sell out just about anyone if he thought I'd get him reelected- His calculation is progressives have no where to go so all he has to do is to seem reasonable enough to get independents- I think he's very mistaken in that calculation in fact I'd wouldn't be surprised if he got primaried. -
Some reports that there was a Pro Palestinian Rally at Norway Youth Camp the Day Before the Massacre - don't know if that is true but if it was he might have gone there thinking he'd be shooting Muslims or at least supporters of the Palestinians.

In Norway, the annual rate of firearm homicide per 100,000 population was 2005: 0.11 The U.S. rate for gun deaths in 2005 was 11.5 per 100,000 people I'm not against having guns but you can't get hung up on one event.

Blaming it all on Bush was not my point, but he supported it as did many Republicans- and it wasn't like the financial industry was against it either, people were making a lot of cash and they didn't care about the risk because the housing market was going to do nothing but go up- also and I hate to say it but Obama is now to the right of Dubya and not by a little bit. -

Without the details it's difficult to know whether it's a good idea or a really bad idea but understand nothing good happens to an unoccupied house, you still have to pay property taxes, maintain insurance, you still have to pay to keep the lawn maintained, maybe the sidewalk shoveled, any utilities will have a connection fee, without security you could have your aluminum siding ripped off or copper plumbing etc, if you have a roof leak or flooded basement then the damage could continue for a long time before anyone knows about it let alone fix it - a lot of banks recently are making an effort not to foreclose, not out of the goodness of their hearts but because with the terrible housing market they have the bad options of paying to maintain an unoccupied house, being landlords, or selling at a much lower price than they have the asset valued at which would effect the banks paper value. If the government is guaranteeing rent payments and doing a renter property insurance it is a tremendous bailout for the banks. of course helping renters contradicts Bush's ownership society but what the Hey
