I am watching Josh's postgame interview. The two things that jump out to me:
- He takes responsibility, total responsibility. I actually don't believe he deserves it for yesterday's performance, but good for him - standing with his team.
- This guy is heartfelt. We never have to (not that we have) wonder how much he cares.
We've got a good leader. On to New York.

Forget stats. He absolutely has to stop taking boneheaded sacks.
And i love Josh and think he is great and will win us a super bowl. Ftr.
So, for him to play to your expectations, how many of his extended, spectacular plays are you willing to forgo, so that Josh may “stop taking boneheaded sacks?”

Curious to see if they sit him another week to be extra cautious considering it's the Jags...but that's the fan speak in me. Nobody on the team is thinking that, if he is out again this week it won't be because of who the opponent is.
The deal with Brown is that he is in his very early learning phase. Every game is a significant opportunity to grow and improve as we prepare for post season. Much different from, say, Morse.

Heck yeah. We don't need to sign players for what they were four years ago. Beane builds the team for today and tomorrow. Watt never fit that strategy.

The math says FHS got $22 of every sale.
Please FHS, put out a new order. I got mine with the first run. But I would LOVE to make this my Christmas present to loved ones. I am ready to order six new hoodies for my closest friends and family right now. Pleeeeease!!!

I'm sorry if I've missed this discussion already.
Was Diggs showboating on his big catch? All the replays I've seen it seems as though he should've been able to turn up field but opted to flaunt to the DB instead and maybe didn't realize how close he actually was to him. We settled for 3 after that monster play.
I saw this and wondered what was going through his head. My guess is that he was a bit disoriented about where he was on the field and where the defense was - he took a quick look around to figure it out.

Are you implying you are more knowledgeable than half the posters on this board? Your posting track record doesn't support that theory.

How many games will they need before putting Spencer Brown on the list?

Brown is big and bad with an attitude, and ready to become the NFL's only two-way force of destruction. NEVER underestimate Spencer Brown.

- Allen looked confident and played smart - especially considering the weather conditions. No back foot throws and held onto the ball.
Actually (and this is not intended to argue), I think Josh is still throwing off his back foot at times, but pulling through the throwing motion with his upper body. I am wondering if that is key the adjustment he made. In younger days, I was a college pitcher and pay attention to (albeit different) throwing motions. The second half throw to Knox is where is was most apparent to me. Maybe (I have inadequate knowledge here) his problem was not throwing off his back foot, but not following though, allowing the ball to softly sail. I could easily be wrong on this.

If this is your standard, who does?

I agree, but I also think there’s room for a third receiver. Much of the underneath stuff that could have gone to Beasley or Davis went to Moss and Singletary last night. Knox’s development impacts the amount of targets other guys get, but I believe there’s room for a slot guy, in addition to a pair of great outside guys.
My guess (strictly a guess) was, with Beasley off the field and passing to our backs out of the backfield, we invited their cornerbacks and safeties to drop deeper and open up the middle of the field. Of course, they didn't see Knox coming.
What a night. 🍻 Cheers!

I think that Davis has plenty of raw talent, and he made some big plays last season, but I’ve often questioned if Davis is as good as many assume. He hasn’t become a consistent force in this offense, and owes some of us early success to playing with Allen. There’s isn’t much to complain about after a win like that, but we are typically a better offense when Beasley is productive.
I don't think you're being fair to Davis.
- He is not a consistent force in this offense because of Diggs and Sanders. No receiver short of the NFL's elite would overtake those two.
- You could say that Allen owes some of last year's success to Davis. I'll say that they teamed for some exceptional receptions.
However, I agree that a productive Beasley helps us to be the best that we can be.

I predicted McD was taking a 10 win team to training camp in 2017 so I wasn't exactly a hater but the assessment above that the defense would improve and they might lose their running game was dead on.
Also, if Anthony Lynn is retained and he ends up with Patrick Mahomes and a good defense..........he'd still be the HC here. They had playoff talent and a mature roster and Mahomes is a transcendent talent. Mahomes could make Rich Kotite look like a good HC.
The Bills went in a different direction...........it's working out "well" but the Chiefs were at a crossroads that offseason and trading them Mahomes turned them into a pseudo-dynasty that looms as a major obstacle to the Bills success for the foreseeable future.
This is cherry-picking history revisionism. The fact (not hindsight speculation) is that McDermott, teaming very well with Beane, turned a two-decade dysfunctional (dumpster fire) organization into a potential champion through continuous improvement with an exceedingly bright future.
Also, "pseudo-dynasty" means phony dynasty. The Chiefs are working to achieve dynasty status and are off to a solid beginning. There really is nothing phony about them. Dictionary.com is your friend.

As a courtesy to the other board members, please use more descriptive topic titles. An outburst of frustration is far too vague to post as a title and provides little insight into what specifically the post is talking about. The topic starter can edit the topic title line to make it more appropriate.
Thank you.

Given McDermott's long, close relationship with Andy Reid, I'm certain he is asking him how to most effectively rush Mahomes.

I'm not taking this literally, but as a poke at all the Star-bashers we had to put up with over the past year. In that spirit, I like it.

I'm going to reach here and say Gregory Rousseau. Mahomes dances in the backfield really well. Rousseau's extreme reach and athleticism (especially for being such a large mammal) could allow Mahomes to get himself into trouble.

There have been some unfair criticisms of Edmunds........like saying his isn't physical enough........that's certainly not the case.
But the criticism regarding his lack of big, game changing plays over the last 3+ season's is simply factual. And it's not just fans on a website who note it. Watch the games. It's part of his identity around the league now.
People like yourself and @Max Fischer can do a ton of research trying to familiarize yourself with the Bills defense.....but to understand what you are seeing you also need to be able to use your own eyes and a little common sense as well.
Milano and Edmunds don't have identical roles in the defense.
They are similar but you can't on-one-hand say that they have nearly identical roles but effectively one guy "by design" makes big plays and the other does not.
Edmunds is a top 10-12 MLB/ILB ...........a devalued position.........and that's OK but when you are the biggest and most gifted player playing the position in the NFL and your team traded up in the middle of round 1 to select you and you are about to become a $12M-$20M per year cap liability.........people are going to expect YOU to be the guy making plays.
The mike on a defense is traditionally a mirror reflection of the (also de-valued) RB position.......and if you take your nose out of the biased Bills coverage/analysis and actually follow the rest of the league....... that's really still the case with most of the truly elite MLB/ILB's.
Physically, Tremaine Edmunds is the Derrick Henry of inside LB's..........but unlike Henry he doesn't perform like a truly elite player at the position.
In short, save the line of bulls*t about he's just so misunderstood for people who don't know he can perform A LOT better.
And there we have vintage badolbilz in a nutshell, insulting anyone he disagrees with.
- In Micah Hydes sack Sunday, Tua immediately goes to his hot read, Devonte Parker, running a quick slant. Edmunds is there, closing it off. Hyde gets the "big play".
- On AJ's sack, Tua looks immediately to his tight end. But Edmunds is there, closing it off. Epenesa gets the "big play".
I have a seven year old nephew likes seeing "big, game changing plays" but doesn't yet recognize the scheming and team contributions to those plays. Edmunds is doing his job very well in Frazier's and McDermott's defense.
I am responding, not because we disagree, but because your mannerisms are so far out of line:
- Behaving as an internet tough guy just spoils the conversation: "In short, save the line of bulls*t about he's just so misunderstood for people who don't know he can perform A LOT better."
- And finally, "And don't get me started..." Nobody wants to get you started. I suspect many would just like you to just leave.
ctk232 crushed you in this conversation. Have a snickers bar.
