  1. Does anybody else have mixed feelings about Schoebel? I certainly do, I know I'll be crucified on this board for not kneeling to his holiness and kissing the gound he walks on BUT....If he goes on to play for another team my opinion of him will surely deteriorate. Why not help out your life long team when they need you? Why switch teams at this point of your career? Where's the loyalty? It would be like me changing into a Redskins fan becasue I live closer to DC than Buffalo, and it's too hard on my family to travel to Buffalo to see them play. He jerked us along for the past two seasons

ala Brett Farve. I may retire, 90% retired, 70%-30% will play, I am a Bill, I may be a Texan, c'mon enough already. I am glad Nix said enoughs enough. You either want to be a Bill or you don't. If he goes on to play for another team then my opinion of him takes a serious hit.

    Go ahead fire away!

You shouldn't be crucified at all for this post. I think it's spot on. I think Nix handled it as well as he could. I think Schobel comes out of this looking like a total doosh. If nothing else, I'm disappointed. But I'm over it.

    Go Bills!

  2. This is very likely why they won't win a lot this year. I'm expecting better things from this staff, but it may take some time because of this developing process.

Edwards is probably close to being a legit QB and Brohm/Brown are in need of experience at this level. I also wouldn't be surprised to see Fitzpatrick cut, but only if Brown shows something during camp & the preseason games.

I agree with nearly everything you say. The only difference I see is that Fitz has to be the odd man out. Out of all 4 QBs, Gailey/Nix chose one of them. There's no way Brown gets cut. It's gotta be Fitz.

  3. The first BIG MISTAKE was assuming that Schobel was coming back. Buddy expected to get one more productive year out of Schobel as the teams primary pass rusher. Well that's not going to happen.

The second BIG MISTAKE was not having a backup plan and drafting a legit pass rusher. In the 1st round he passed on legit pass rushers like Morgan, Graham, Pierre Paul. In the 2nd round he passed on Kindle. In the later rounds, he passed on Griffen, Norwood and Sapp. Am I saying that all of them will be All Pros, NO! But they would've all contributed this year and the majority of them are better than anyone the Bills have at OLB.

When you look at the great 3-4's, it's all about the NT and the OLB's. Over the years, tandems like Woodley and Harrison and Timmons (Dominated the Cards Oline in the SB), Phillips and Merriman , Ware and Spencer, Porter and Taylor, Vrable and McGinest dominated opposing offensive lines and disrupted passing games.

Even teams who run a 4-3 understand that the NFL is a passing league and you need great pass rushers to get anywhere. The last 3 Super Bowls were played by teams who have Freeney/Mathis, Will Smith, Harrison/Wodley, Tuck/Mathias K/Osi/Strahan (And they just drafted Pierre Paul). Look at what Allen and Edwards do in Minny!!!!! Or the difference guys like Mathews and Dumerville make on their teams.

So what did Buddy do to improve what I think is the 2nd most important position (pass rusher wherever it comes from) in the NFL today? NOTHING! And now the Bills best pass rusher over the last decade is sick of the ineptitude that the Bills show year after year and says "no thanks" to 6 mill.

Good job Buddy! The Bills may not have anyone to rush the QB but they do have 3 solid RB's!! (And a terrible O-line to boot!) Isn't the NFL a passing league!?!?! Wouldn't it make sense to load up on pass rushers the way the Steelers do every year? Way to count on the dynamic duo of Maybin and Kelsay. Brady, Henne and Sanchez thank you!

Schobel screwed the Bills, not Buddy Nix. And we drafted the biggest play-maker on the board. The only thing I see in your post that I agree with is "Good job, Buddy!" I think he's doing just fine, myself. And if I had a Shobel jersey, I'd throw it away.

  4. I remember this childrens book series from when I was a kid.

As I recall, the first book was Brohm Goes to School.

Then, as Beerball mentioned, Brohm Has a Good Day.

I think the third book in the series was Brohm Goes to the Pro Bowl.

But I'm not sure if there were any others between 'Good Day' and 'Pro Bowl.' Anybody?

    GO BILLS!!!

Between "Good Day" and "Pro Bowl?" .... "Traded"

  5. He has failed to gain weight. Maybe he cannot, but he looks awfully lean for a guy who is supposed to be adding 20 lbs.

I am six three, 225 and I am a bigger man than Maybin is. I stood ten yards away from him him at the first open practice. He has very skinny hips, shoulders, and wrists. He runs like an oatrich, striaght up and down. He is a total joke. He looks athletic and in shape, though. Maybe he can play safety?

Oh ... I didn't realize he had skinny hips, shoulders and wrists. He should probably be euthanized. My bad.

  6. Gotta love old guys bashing a 22 yo living a life they could never imagine. Some of you need to get a life.

I couldn't agree more. This kid gets relentlessly bashed on this board on a daily basis. All of this "maybinot" stuff, etc. He's done nothing wrong except to not be an overnight success. Shame on him! Gimme a break.

  7. Ahhh...now I understand why the Pittsburgh Steelers have been such a lousy franchise. Why would they sign a walking holding machine. Come to think of it..why would they put him in the pro bowl all of those years? We don't seem to have a problem with penalty prone tackles from Oakland.

Reuben Brown went to the Pro Bowl every year, and he was a penalty machine.

  8. 31

    Buffalo Bills (6-10)

Right here and now I'm willing to go on record and guarantee that Chan Gailey's feat of having never missed the NFL playoffs as a head coach will end in 2010. Then again, it has been 11 years since Gailey got the opportunity to put that streak on the line.

I just don't get it. Don't really care about these polls ... but I still don't get it.

    Go Bills!

  9. Good point Albany.

Instead, the FO passes up a Tebow, Clausen, McCoy, and Campbell to name a few. Oh, I forgot, they picked Levi Brown. What a joke...

Another wait til next year situation for our QB situation. Who knows if they will even address this need next year?

I am not holding my breath and I am not lying to myself and thinking anyone on our roster is a quaility NFL starting QB.

    ZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzz ... ZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

  10. Yeah, he did give half-effort on a lot of plays. But I do feel that all the talk about him losing a step is unwarranted at the moment. It drives me nuts that people don't realize how much a receiver's stats depend on the quarterback. If a QB is getting sacked, throwing INTs, or checking down all the time, how does that necessarily mean the receiver's skills are in decline?

I still think he showed quite a bit of restraint. His numbers from last year have absolutely nothing to do with him being unemployed. He had, actually, pretty decent numbers. I'm sure owners know, in a better offense, the numbers would've been better. This is strictly about his attitude. But this was another opportunity to go off on his former teammates, and he didn't. Good for him. I hope he finds work, and I'm pretty sure he will.

  11. Do we really want someone named Luck associated with the team?

We beat the fins 35-0...headlines the next day in miami...Bills beat dollfags by Dumb Luck

We beat the pats* 32-3...headlines in Boston read...Bills Luck--y in defeat of pats*

We beat the jests 10-9 in a last second thriller...NY papers read...Just plain bad Luck for jests

I really don't think this is a good idea & the Bills should stay as far away from this kid as possible.

Yeah .. and just imagine if we'd hired Russ Grimm on top of it!
