  1. I actually voted Trent. I'd like to see Brohm backing him up. I just want Trent to either sink or swim. The Jauron/Schoenert/Van Pelt excuses are gone. He's got good running backs and good receivers. Most QBs in the league play with less-than-stellar lines. If Trent doesn't show "it" very early on, bring on Brohm.

Coolest thing about this offseason that I haven't felt in many years is that I actually trust Chan Gailey to make the right decision. Whomever takes the first snap on opening day, I'll feel good that Gailey made the decision and that QB is the best choice.

    Go Bills!

  2. This is the reason I started this thread. To flush out guys like you who are so beyond help, that are so delusional, that they actually are convinced the realists are the ones who are delusional. In the three pages of this thread I have yet to see a starting QB who Trent Edwards has a better arm than, and I'm the one incapable of dealing with reality? NFL defensive coordinators do cartwheels when it's Trent Edwards week. They laugh at him when they watch film. You've watched Trent play football for the Bills in 30 games and you STILL have faith in him?

    :flirt:

I don't live in Buffalo. I don't listen to sports radio. I don't even own a Bills jersey (although Byrd may be the first guy in a long time worthy enough of plunking down $100 plus for his jersey).

At least we are figuring out who the realist Bills fans are, and who the delusional Bills fans are.

Dan Marino had a pretty good arm. How many rings did he have when retired?

  3. Someone else said it perfectly in another, similar, thread. "Has anyone on this board ever been to a party where someone was shot?" Highly doubtful; and even more likely that no one even KNOWS someone who's been to a party where someone was shot.

Vick put himself in this mess; because it's all he knows. He's a thug. Plain and simple.

I think the NFL has every reason to discipline him and get him out of the league for good. And I hope they do just that.

  4. What's the point of this thread? I seriously wonder if other QBs, good or bad, endure the ridicule fromt the fanbase that TE has. I'll be the first to admit ... I've bashed him. But I bashed him while he was doing a crappy job.

It's pre-season; he's trying to win his spot back; there's a new coaching staff; a new running back.

It's clear (to me) that it's between him and Brohm. How about a little support?

I know he makes a lot of money, blah, blah, blah. But I know how I'd feel if every day I walked into work, everyone stood around and said, "here he comes, this guy sucks at his job." or "this guy is never going to be any good, I wish they'd just get rid of him." ... all before I even had a chance to prove myself.

Yes .. he's had what would appear to be ample time to prove himself. But come on ... did he really have much of a chance given the circumstances? I don't think so.

I would definitely say this is his last chance. But I'm going to wait until he actually plays some games before labeling him a failure.

    Go Bills!!

  5. Owens actually did quite well last season, given the circumstances. No he didn't put up monster numbers, but to finish w/ over 800 yds and get over 15 yds per catch w/ little in the way of production from the QBs was pretty solid. He'd be one of the last people I'd "blame" for all that went wrong in the 2009 season.

Now w/ that said, I believe that the Bills are best suited by developing their young WRs so that one of 'em can become a compliment to Evans and another can become a reliable slot receiver.

I agree on both accounts. Sure, he took a couple of games "off," but that hardly contributed to any losses. I'd say 14/16 games, he acted professionally and played pretty well. Everyone knows his hands aren't the best. His hands were terrible in Dallas, too!! But again ... his hands didn't lose any Bills games. If everyone else on the team worked as hard as T.O., we'd be perennial playoff contenders. The guy's work ethic is insane.

However .. it is, indeed, time to get younger at that position. As badly as I feel for Evans, in the long run, the development of the young guys is going to do a lot more for him and for the team.

I wish T.O. nothing but the best. Mason is an idiot.

    Go Bills!

  6. If you're out of prison with time hanging over your head, if you're on a short leash with the NFL Commissioner, if you're just now climbing out of bankruptcy, and if you're still trying to land a starting gig in the NFL at some point WHY EVEN HAVE A PARTY WHERE SOMETHING LIKE THIS COULD HAPPEN? It is foolish and he may have just cost himself more than just some "bad press".

110% agree. Have a party at home, you moron. Why go to a nightclub? Grow the hell up. He's done. I'm ashamed to have actually gone through a short, "we should get Vick" phase. Won't ever happen again.

  7. Sounds a lot better than "it's hard to win in the NFL." Hopefully Gailey will bring a change in culture to the team.

You know ... this may be the most relevant and important piece to the puzzle. Rex Ryan, among other things, brought a huge change of culture to the Jets. How nice would/will it be to see Bills players/coaches sound confident, yet realistic? Gailey's obviously more tempered than Ryan, and that's cool. But you can sense a different tone, even at OTAs. I'm very optimistic about them this year. Playoffs would surprise the hell out of me, but it's not an impossibility. Go Bills!

  8. Gailey didn't draft or sign any of these QB's. He's going to start who he thinks is best. I still think it's Edwards despite regressing last year, he did show promise before getting concussed. Plus, Gailey is the first legit OC he's had.

I agree. Last year, I said I never wanted to see Trent take another snap. But if Gailey thinks he's the best on our roster, then I'll trust that. If Trent is past the post-concussion problems, he might surprise us all. A little bit of fan support would probably help, too.

  9. one of the posters here lives in Florida and plays flag football with Anquan Boldin and a few other big time NFL players. He said they go easy against most everyone, but go all out when they play against each other. I think the poster was Dazed and Confused. I cannot imagine trying to cover Steve Smith. It is my opinion that the toughest thing to do in sports is cover a top WR one on one

I think pulling an 18-wheeler with your teeth is up there, too.

  10. I live near Steve Smith and let me tell you he is the biggest jerk and ego in the NFL. He got what he deserves. As far as a Bill getting injured, injuries happen so often for us it wouldn't even surprise me.

So this guy is playing flag football at HIS camp for kids, and he deserves a broken arm? Just because of an ego? Man, Jim Kelly deserved to be in a body cast with that logic!!

  11. All the media parrots be damned. The Bills will be a better team.

    PTR

Agreed! And I'm a firm believer in that the Bills don't necessarily need to post a better record than last year in order to be better than last year. If they play hard, and are "in" games, they'll be a more respected team. To me, that's an improvement over last year. I DO, however, think the Bills will have a better record than last year. GO BILLS!

  12. Agreed. Im amazed that so many people think freddy and CJ are enough to get us through a full season in this league. We probably wont need Lynch in week 1 but we're gonna need him in week 10 guaranteed. Unless a good offer comes through, which I doubt, he's going nowhere.

I agree. I can't stand the P.O.S., but we're a better team with 3 RBs on the roster on game day. I'm all with the F-U to him, but I'd say, "F-U and play."
