Teams all have nicknames on their hats some refer to their fans such as the seahawks. I would much rather ours said Bills Mafia then Billieve
So you're mad at a hat. Interesting.

If there is one non-football thing I've noticed about McD it is the emphasis he places on faith when discussing the makeup of the team. I believe he uses the phrase "family, faith, football" frequently which begs the question -- is there a place for a player on this roster who isn't a devout Christian or (perish the thought) is agnostic or an atheist? An aspect unique to sports is the open practice of religion before, during, and after games.
Obviously McD can't come out and openly discriminate on the basis of religion but that's not what I'm asking. I don't think this is a silly question and I'm not making fun of anyone -- I'm curious to hear others' thoughts and I wonder if a media member would ever ask him that question (i.e., can a player who doesn't claim religious faith as a cornerstone of his life fit into "the process" with the Buffalo Bills)?
I think maybe you're overthinking it a little. Maybe he's talking about faith in the process, or faith in the coaches. Faith is not limited to religion.

From earlier today on GR-55.
On Allen:
"I had him as a third round pick, my 90th player on the board, so I was very much a Josh Allen skeptic and nothing's changed. Two major concerns: processing skills/reading coverage and footwork skills impacting his accuracy. Those are 2 areas of concern that not a lot of quarterbacks have had success overcoming."
If he had him as a third round pick, then he's the only one in the country that did. Some even had him going number 1 overall. Wouldn't put too much stock in this as the guy obviously has no clue.

Apodaca lasted all of 27 days on the Winnipeg roster, throwing a whopping 0 passes in the CFL. Would hardly call this guy coming from the CFL.
The CFL is a different game. It favors Tyrod type QB's. The field is very wide and running QB's are much more successful here. Maybe he didn't fit the mold. Besides, he's just camp fodder. He won't make the team.

He makes it look easy, which I guess it is, when you remove 20 players from the field and just play catch with a receiver.
Is it possible that we could play some of our games in this manner this year?
Have you ever seen a QB's Pro Day where he threw against a defense? Asking for a friend.

Nobody knows how any of this will shake out but I do Billieve, AJ McCarron better be our future or we are set back another 5 years.
One thing I always love about this board is Bills fans' unbridled optimism. So you didn't like any of the picks. LOl brilliant.

I would change the name of the team from Bills first. I think most people outside the area do not understand the name. However, if you needed to keep it, I would totally have a Western theme character riding a charging Buffalo!
You could also keep the name "Bills" and go with a money sign logo/theme! $$$$$$$weet! lol
I think everyone knows who Buffalo Bill was.

He's been cut, so why not. It couldn't hurt to bring him in and give him a shot.

We'll see I guess, but I do like the pick. He reminds me a bit of Jim Kelly. Not saying he will be another Kelly, but I see some of the same attributes that made Kelly great. Time will tell what kind of QB we got, but based on what I've seen of him thus far (highlights, interviews), I like the pick.

Why would Miami have taken Allen? Gase loves Tannehill.
Trust me, if we hadn't traded up, both of those guys would have been gone. After we took Allen, it changed the rest of the 1st round as far as QB's go. Arizona traded up to get Rosen and I believe if Miami didn't take Allen, someone else would have traded up. I don't believe either one of those guys would have been there at 12. I could be wrong, but obviously the Bills thought the same thing.

We were 9-7 last year when everyone said we were "tanking". I believe this year's team will be just as good if not better. I also believe that McCarron will outperform Tyrod. The D will be better against the run and with improved QB play, I expect a more consistent team. I didn't buy the "tanking" theory last year and I don't buy that we are "rebuilding" this year.

I think Beane was trying to protect the Bills from any other team thinking about trading ahead of them. Allen wasn't my first choice, either, but apparently, he's the guy.
3 minutes ago, Wayne Arnold said:Bills could have stayed at 12 and still drafted him and would have had two second-round picks tonight. I still would have hated the choice but it would have been much less reckless.
Did you not watch the draft? NO way either Allen or Rosen would have been there at 12 and I don't want Lamar Jackson. Arizona traded up to 10 to get Rosen and if we didn't take Allen, somebody else would have, probably Miami.

Allen is a stud now? Why cause of his gorgeous hair? It’s all good dude. If you are happy I’m glad. There is no knowing anything to be honest. Off to work.
Yes he is. He has the best arm of any QB in the draft. Going into the season, he was rated as the #1 QB many scouts. He reminds me a lot of Jim Kelly. Will he be as good as Kelly? Who knows, but Bills fans have been bitching about not drafting a QB for years. Now we drafted a very good one and Bills fans are still bitching.

We could have had 6 very good players by tonight.
Not if we wanted a QB other than Lamar Jackson. If we hadn't traded up, the first round would have fallen differently. Neither Rosen nor Allen would have been there at 12. I'm perfectly happy with two studs instead of six average players. We've been average long enough.

After Pick #7, everything else is now window dressing to strive for 8-8.
Bills fans are pathetic. We made the playoffs last year when everyone said we were "tanking". I expect this team to be even better than last year.

This thread makes about as much sense as all of the ones last season about how we were "tanking". This team will be competitive THIS season, just as they were last season. We got two very good players last night and are a better football team because of it. Period.

Something I've been thinking. Bills fell asleep at the wheel. Why do I say this? Everyone said Colts didn't want to trade out of the top 10. I believed this also, but the more I see mock drafts and hear the Colts GM saying he's not apposed to moving down the more I think Beane overplayed his hand for the 3rd pick. Beane probably tried to haggle and they said, screw you and took a deal with the Jets.
Now here's the hard part.
I believe if Whaley is the GM we have the 3rd overall pick today and everyone is projecting we get Darnold or Rosen. It's sickening. Whaley would have given up "too much" but we'd be in a better position. JMO.
Only one question. Can I see the picture of you in the tinfoil hat? The fact is you don't know if any of this is true. It's pure conjecture and speculation without a shred of proof. Relax man. Wait until after the draft at least to start bitching.

A good signing because he was dirt cheap. He is a place holder. Save your paycheck.
He will be our starter this season. Get used to it. And I have another prediction. He will do quite well.

I don't think he starts, AJ you were the leftover FA QB and you have the body of a pizza delivery guy. Go bang your hot wife I'm sick of looking at you already! Lucky dog.
I'd bet my paycheck that McCarron is the starter to begin the season. He was a good signing, knows how to win and is a solid guy. You on the other hand sound kind of shady.

Prediction: Nathan Peterman Bills Starting QB Wk. 1 vs. Ravens

LOL well I completely disagree with your assessment. IMO McCarron is the starter, Allen will be number two and Peterman will be three if they decide to keep three QB's. I base that on nothing but my own gut feeling. It will be fun to see how things shake out.
