I think winning a game in foxboro with our not yet fully manned defense and an offense with only number 2 and 3 receivers proves that Whaley has done his job well as GM. Brady would have made a difference yes, but seeing the patriots with a healthy D, a lot of momentum homefield and BB still lose handily meant that straight up, whaleys built a team can beat the patriots (minus their hall of fame QB.) and until they start handing out HOF QB's thats about the best he can do.
Whaleys FA defensive pick ups look good and have always looked good, often better than our draft picks ie zach brown, alexander, graham, gilislee etc. Even though drafting watkins and giving up 3 picks for a guy whos brittle has finally been realized as a mistake ( my take that draft was to trade back GET AN EXTRA PICK and draft K.Benjamin ) no one could have for seen Watkins as "injury prone". whaleys mistake simply was over paying in a deep wr draft where he could have made out like a bandit with a trade back and ODB or Benjamin.
Now the 2 problems from this year and last, have been reduced to 1. I always pondered but couldnt "prove" if Roman offense was the issue. His schemes always seemed like they stalled our offense with bursts of points here and there thanks to tyrods deep ball. Now its clear his running game was crap and "genius" or not, it never took hold and even looked worse this year. Contrast this to Ryans D actually starting to live up to expectations and you can see one has an upward trend to match its vaunted history, the other seemed to be good for a couple years in SF only to get progressively worse with time.
the other main issue and last piece of the puzzle holding us back from the playoffs is so simple. I saw it sunday lying in the middle of the field. It was just out there in the open for everyone else to see and I thought "if only Tyrod could see it too" what was it? Well I just said what it was, it was literally the middle of the field! People in Bills uniforms kept running down and across it but unless they got near the sideline tyrod seemed to not notice their existence. He still does not understand the ease and yardage associated with the seam pass. Unless a receiver has a sideline next to him and or is completely stopped and turned around, tyrod just wont throw it there. His sideline game and deep ball are great, it confounds me how the easiest pass in football, a pass that both Fitzpatrick lived on and even Rob Johnson could throw, is something tyrod doesnt even try.
When and if Tyrod can ever see and use the middle of the field the Bills will start rolling and will make it easily into the playoffs.
He threw several passes over the middle, at least two were batted down.

Kraft forgot the refs envelope before the game.

Z. Brown played a great game today.
P. Brown found his soulmate in Z. Brown. The two of them play off each other so well, it is great to see.
-
"What is the main reason you watch the game every sunday?"
I want to watch competitive football. I want to see two good teams play a good game.
Today's game was almost surreal. Especially in the 4th qtr. when it seemed NE gave up, which was never the case. Anyway it was a good win, everyone contributed, the breaks went our way for a change, and the refs called a decent game. (Maybe they did not get the envelope before the game?)

I truly believe if the Bills lose @ New England next week and third stringer Jacoby Brissett is still their starter, Rex will be fired on the spot. Possibly if Garoppolo starts as well.
They will fire Rex, promote Rob to Head Coach, and Rob will hire Rex as the DC.

I guess Bill. He can win with any QB
Except Bernie Kosar

I say trade McCoy to the Vikings for as a high a draft pick as you can get for him. The Vikings have a legitimate shot at the Super Bowl, and McCoy will give them the back they need now that Adrian Peterson is out. This way, we rid ourselves of his high cap number and give playing time to Mike Gillisee and Williams. This is the time for the Bills to realize that we need to start fresh, and stockpiling as many draft picks as we can while also creating as much cap room as possible to bring in difference makers seems the best way to go. The season is lost, almost before it got started, and hanging on to hoping that we turn this around is only wishful thinking. I say get rid of the pieces that you can right now for decent value, then cut Tyrod Taylor after the season and try and bring is someone to run the offense, or draft the best potential QB with the extra draft picks that we can assemble. Otherwise, it's more of the same as we stay stuck in this 6-10, 7-9 level of mediocrity. This needs to be blown up this year and start fresh. I know that it's hard to face another rebuild, but thinking that Rex and Rob and Tyrod are going to turn this around is fools gold.....................
Haven;t the Bills done this historically. Trade, let walk, fail to resign, or outright cut our best players and bring in "fresh" players through the draft (mistake prone rookies that don;t pan out) or free agency (retreads) only to pull together players unfamiliar with each other and whatever system is being installed at the time and hope and pray they "gell" during training camp?
Constantly churning over coaches and players because they did not win in their first or second years is like repeatably banging your head against the wall expecting different results each time.
The best teams in the league have several things in common; a win at all cost mentality, excellent college scouting, and consistency at the top.
Most NY Giant fans hated Bill Parcells until.... he won a Super Bowl.

Dumbing down the elementary passing offense sure incites visions of future successes!
How complicated is the Pats*** offense?

Get off the field on 3rd down
Do not give up the big play
Limit penalties

If true, does this open the door for Cromartie?
It opens the door for Incognito.

As happy as I am that I do not have to put up with those insufferable a$$h*les and hear all about how great Brady, Grunk, and Bellicheat are for two weeks, the one thing I am disappointed in is watching them get destroyed by Carolina!

He can think that he is elite all he wants. Good confidence is what you expect out of a cb.
However, show me some probowls, before you pay him elite money.

Murray should've stayed in Dallas.
Since DeMarco was accused of screwing the wife of a teammate, it got awkward.

Worst:
Mulligan
But Mulligan really stands out as bad, because they actually use him instead of other TE's that are better.
Mulligan was a critical component on the game winning Clay touchdown... as a decoy.

I agree with Plenz. A weak division is a weak division, it's been happening for years.
I would much rather the geography get straightened out first. This is one of the bettter ones I have seen:
AFC North: Bills, Giants, Jets, Patriots
AFC South: Buccaneers, Dolphins, Jaguars, Falcons
AFC East: Bengals, Browns, Colts, Steelers
AFC West: 49ers, Chargers, Raiders, Seahawks
NFC North: Bears, Lions, Packers, Vikings
NFC South: Cardinals, Cowboys, Saints, Texans
NFC East: Eagles, Ravens, Redskins, Panthers
NFC West: Broncos, Chiefs, Rams, Titans

AFC West: Broncos, Chargers, Raiders, Chiefs
NFC North: Bears, Lions, Packers, Vikings

Here is how I would line them up.

Same.
Its sore for a few days, but he may be able to play next week if it was just a dislocation and it wasn't dislocated for a long period of time.
My separated shoulder (at age 22) put me out of work (electrician) for 4 weeks.
-
Yes he should stay on as fg kickrr, but hire an extra point specialist.
Or get one guy to handle all three kicker duties.
-
There was no way the ref's were going to let Buffalo win.

Also should have mentioned that Fitz was the Fitz we know and loathed in Buffalo. Lots of errant passes with a couple of big plays mixed in for good measure.
As I watched the game with my buddy (he had NFL Network) I observed 4 things from Fitz that explained why he has played for 4 teams in 4 years.
1) badly under thrown long ball.
2) I can't remember, damn it.
3) overthrew wide open receiver in the end zone.
4) interception to end any chance of a comeback and the game.

"Rex said he is confident Whatever Bills Player Is Injured will be ready Week Whatever next Game Is."
Rex Ryan always says this.
To answer question, EJ. Yes he is a mixed bag, but he is our mixed bag.
How Has Adolphus Washington Been Doing?

My outlaws are huge OSU fans and they thought very highly of Washington and the Bills were very good drafting him.
