  1. I believe the purpose of any trade is to make a great deal for the BILLS, not the Eagles. Does anyone know who New England picked up for the draft picks they got for Bledsoe? Last year the Bills picked up Eric Wood and Jarius Byrd in the 2nd. Would you be willing to have missed out on either of those even for a gifted QB like McNabb for only 1 year?? I suspect we may get a bit over one year of solid play out of both Wood and Byrd. I don't think the Bills should mortgage their future for the short term gain. Next year in a draft that is supposed to be deep in quarterbacks, we would need to spend a pick on a quarterback, but would have given away 2nd and 3rd round picks for McNabb. Bad math.
  2. Finally someone out there who is completely tuned in to my psychosis.
  3. If the proposal is to bring in an older quarterback and hope he is able to perform comperable to how he played at his peak.......I struggle buying into this. Perhaps one of the top 2 will fall to #9 in the draft... If not I would be reluctant to buy into this scenario. If any of the theories about a stronger O-line translating to improved quarterback performance, fix the O-line first, and solidify the defence. Personally I'd rather see if Brohm has the ability to be a starter (can't say I have any hope for Edwards, or Fitz other than backups), than waste a year on a re-tread and wondering again next year how hard we need to pursue a QB. Next year's draft supposedly has a stronger QB class. The Bills have way too many spots to fill to be able to address them all. This year's draft has more quality in O and D line as well as linebackers, so address those needs now. A strong D can keep them in the games and hopefully the score low. A strong O line can protect a weaker QB, and block for our already strong run game. Hell, the friggin Giants won a superbowl recently (or at least participated, more caffine will help recall, but who really cares who won it wasn't the Bills) with a strong D, strong O line and a kinda mediocre QB. Both the Jets and Dolphins had a greater amount of success in recent years with friggin Chad Pennington. I just think the Bills would be poorly served by trying to ressurrect an old QB for short-term gain. If we can go 7-9 with a devastated O line and porous run defense and crappy QB.....maybe taking care of some major areas this year can translate into increased wins. Next year get franchise QB and WR
  4. I think that the coaching staff should be working right now to address areas of weakness and develop game plans around the strengths we have. I believe that if they play better they could win more games and feel better about themselves. It is possible that if the bills win more games, one of them may possibly be a playoff game. This would be good. Thank you
  5. ummmmmmmmmmm....................wow.......................ok.................... .someone should stop licking the hypnotoad
  6. I pretty much only want to hear from Wood or a doctor. Everything else is just an opinion with no facts to support. Then people argue and call names. Here's an idea; streamline your approach and quit wasting time. Start a thread titled "everyone is a friggin idiot", and just have everyone bash each other. This would save everyone time. By the way you are all friggin idiots!
  7. I would be willing to bet real money that 0-6 in the division will not happen. All these teams are beatable.
  8. Other receivers on the current roster: Roscoe Parrish - hey, we're paying him can he really turn out to be a decent addition in the slot Felton Huggins - played at Louisiana, a pretty pass-happy place. 6'2" 185lbs has decent size. Ok in pre-season CJ Hawthorne - dunno 5'9" 165lbs other than this I have no clue Justin Jenkins - played hard on special teams 6' 207 good size for the middle I say later round draft for wr as other needs are more critical. Huggins and Hawthorne were drafted last year, just didn't see the field 0 catches
  9. What exactly was the question asked of the players and what was the context?? Could significantly effect answer.
  10. Lots of comments about O linemen, and accepting that Iupati is marginal as pass blocker, but solid in run support. I believe the bills need to prioritize pass protection. We had a successful run game this year in comparison to our passing game. Draft accordingly.
  11. Leonard Smith. Awesome hitter, guaranteed to punish recievers at every game. Unfortunately had difficulties identifying that broad white line as out of bounds marker so was good for at least 1 incredible hit - out of bounds and incurring 15 yd penalty at each and every game. Sure did make people flinch though. Of course, no one was safe, he'd carry the hit into the sideline crowd.
  12. I found the comments about the Rooney Rule to be irrelevant. Fewell interviewed for the job as agreed when he took the interim position. To say afterwards that this was only to sneak by is insulting. Sometimes the simple answer is more likely to be the truth. The Bills organization made an agreement with Fewell and followed through. Not all that complicated. With this in place any further minority interviews would be unnecessary under the Rooney Rule, so classing later interview as such sounds to me like someone just putting down the Bills and shouldn't be taken seriously. Hell, they promoted Fewell to interim HC; they could have promoted Bobby April... I think it is an unreasonable stretch to make the interviews sound racially motivated. I've got to say that the last several years have been unbelievably depressing, and that many decisions from Bills management make me crazy, but............... How about getting pissed off at what really has happened, rather than stretching facts to validate assumptions. God, the crap I read. There is one hell of a lot of irrational crap out there. The 80% crap Nix mentioned could easily have been found here on any given day.
  13. Damn, citrus fruits won't grow here. He must be angling for a job in Florida or california...... Overall a damn fine post. So far the only thought provoking one today
  14. What is it about recent Buffalo running backs. Mcgahee and lynch had a couple good and promising years. Then they began to do some odd dancing around in the backfield and became completely ineffective. Didn't we also send someone to NE with a similar hx?? Conspiracy theory #1- Advanced form of mind control. (i blame beliceck -why can I not spell his friggin name) Conspiracy theory #2 - This is how unhappy people get out of their contract in buffalo...Probably encouraged to do so by agent There. Possibly just as stupid as anyone elses opinion. Seriously, Lynch was a waste of money this year. No one should take up that much cap money, miss about 1/5th of the season for off-field crap and only be a second-stringer As far as how he looks; yeah he looks like a total dork, and he's not especially easy on the eyes either. I realize as far as fashion goes I have not been allowed to criticize since the mullet days, so I should not overly criticize if the crowd he hangs with likes to emulate gang bangers. After all, who was I imitating, George Michaels??? NO!!!!!!! Dress however you like(He can have my old zubaz); how about judging by his actions. This would include the drugs and guns Hit and run.........Anyone recall how he stood up and accepted responsibility! Guns and drugs? Not good here either. The hard running monster sure would have been helpful in NE this year
  15. January 15, 2010 History repeats itself! During superbowl parade in boston A large molasses tank in Boston, Massachusetts, USA, burst and a wave of molasses rushed through the streets, killing 21 members of the Patriots and injuring 150 others. Coach Bill Belichik stayed true to form and cheated death, making millions selling secret videotape of the event.
  16. Bryce Pyup (spelling) Chris Speilman Awesome players, hard workers, players you wouldn't mind your kids meeting
  17. I've got a friend with a semi......I'm also pretty sure that my new gps can find anyone anywhere..... Road Trip!
  18. Speaking only for myself, I am appalled that the government can take any percentage of what I leave to my heirs. I suppose they would be ENTITLED to my amassed wealth as I would be giving it to them. I don't recall making plans to leave any portion of my estate to the government to re-distribute as they see fit. In regards to the Bills, I thought the comment about Ralph being an intelligent businessman is probably the most accurate. He probably has made plans and is most likely updating them regularly. I would guess that he is prioritizing the needs of his family. I hope that he also recognizes the emotional investment (and monetary) of this region and continues to work to have a plan that includes keeping the Bills in Buffalo. Pretty much everything is supposition until Ralph reveals his plan. Who knows, he may be continuing to work on this to meet his goals on a regular basis. Hopefully Ralph's needs and my perception of what I need him to do will be the same
  19. not clear what your point was, but I believe you are a very bad man
  20. I would be willing to trade Roscoe, Donte, Chambers,Edwards and 6-7 others for anyone who would turn out as a solid 2nd string qb. Hell, I'll trade TO. So he's not under contract...shhhhhhh, don't tell the Ravens. I personally would trade Donte for a practice squad player. We could have the un-named player change his position to LB or O-line and have him start next year.
  21. I missed the second half, but from what I did see I'm hopeful. There were a couple of very nice touch passes on screens when pressure was in Brohm's face. Let him play and we'll see. Poise under fire, definite ability to move around and appears to see the field. I expected negatives given the condition of the line and so little practice time. He's gotten reps with the team for only 3 or 4 practices. Practice squad doesn't run the same offense. I look at other recent rookie qb's and think.....holy crap why can't he step in and have a first game like Sanchez etc... All rookies get smacked around and make bad decisions. Most have the opprutunity to go to training camp and work with the team for several weeks; the playbook for several months.... Brohm has had minimal exposure to the Bills system and minimal opprutunity to work with the offense. So Brohm shows up and with a week's practice gets similar numbers as our 2 former starters. This makes me want to see more. Training camp next year with a later round QB and some free agent like garcia or whatever. Draft OL, LB and DL in first 3 rounds. Strong O line should support the run game and protect the qb. Strong D to keep the points down and keep us in games. Please get a competent coaching staff! Keep Bobby April, manage field position. Then we will see just what we have. I believe that with a strong O line, strong defense and great special teams play the Bills won't need the next P. Manning or B. Favre to make the playoffs. Then if we find Brohm is truly special we can look to win a playoff game. If not we will have a team that can attract a good FA, or draft in 1st round to add that piece. Seriously, Kyle Orton is taking a team to the playoffs! Anyone watch him in Chicago? What does Denver have? An o line, a good D and a system that has given any friggin running back that goes there 1000 yards. (ramble complete)
  22. Former season ticket holder. Tailgated. Drank. Had mullet. Cranked punk. Intoxicated generally. Never puked. Never attacked anyone. Always insisted that if we brought the opposing team fan that they were only to be abused by us; their friends. (to this day don't understand why the hell Rick liked the friggin fish, but he's a good fishing buddy....but i digress) There were A-holes then who pushed too far. Never appreciated having to deal with their crap, can't say I'd enjoy it any more now. Rather sure some people didn't like punk, rockabilly and garage, but loud music is part of the scene. we'd get to the lot around 8:30 or so to establish the beachhead and set up. Pick your spot to party. Be reasonable and play nice with others. Go in the game nicely lubricated and make a crapload of noise. Don't spill beer on people, never get so drunk you puke or pass out(-5 F is too cold for that crap), and for christ sakes don't be an a-hole around people's kids Ramble complete.
