  1. Are we trying to make the play offs this year or in 3 years to never? You don't draft a backup player that will never see the field at #10 when you are trying to make a play off push. Not to mention fans like you will be screaming for the "back up" after Fitz's first incompletion. NO THANKS!
  2. Really? REALLY? So he never played football in pop warner, junior high, high school, college, NFL Europe and I also believe the arena league at one point? I don't mean to be mean but people need to stop with this and get a clue. I suppose we can just get your father to play RB for us because he doesn't have much mileage on him.
  3. You don't waste the first 4 years of a GOOD 1st round pick RB's career. Use em BOTH. Keep them BOTH healthy and fresh. They have a short lifespan as it is.
  4. What is it with people always trying to create controversy and polarizing every single situation. Both CJ and FJ are really good. One is young and the other is old. Right now BOTH need a lot of carries and catches. EACH of those guys should touch the ball 20 times a game somehow. Please spare me the run the 31 year old RB into the ground speech so he can go on IR again. The more touches CJ gets the longer FJ can be a valuable member of this team. Relegating CJ to bench duty like the beginning of last year would do a disservice to CJ and this team. The THREE Js, FJ, SJ and CJ are the best play makers we have on offense. It would be idiotic to keep FJ or CJ on the bench in favor of the other. Equal touches for each and more touches overall for our RBs.
  5. Did you see the last 6 games of the year on a team and offensive line decimated by injuries?!?!?! FJ is awesome but he is 31. CJ is about 24. It's a no brainer. CJ is the future. FJ only has so many good years left. Hopefully 2012 is one of them.
  6. I said it about 2 weeks ago but the "Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse" !!! Put up the billboard now!
  7. We took a shot at Shawn "Good Gamble" Merriman. Why not.
  8. Lee Smith is a great blocker. I wanted to us to draft him which we didn't but he ended up with us anyway. Later in the year once he was on the roster I heard his name several times on big running plays for CJ particularly during a blackout game.
  9. I really was hoping that this thread wasn't going anywhere because FJ isn't going anywhere. The Choice signing means nothing to me. His numbers aren't even in the same discussion as FJ and CJ in our offense. Granted he was picked up off the street I believe and had little time in the offense but his production wasn't anything special. If our offensive line is so good he should have had better numbers.
  10. I think this video is old but I am really liking this kid. Seems like a good man. Gotta love the Hendricks hoodie! +1 http://www.ninersnation.com/2012/3/6/2850145/49ers-stephen-hill-pro-day-video
  11. That is kind of the point with these GT guys. I am not big into this college vs that college etc etc. Hill, however, is quite literally the next BIG(and super fast) thing to come out of GT.
  12. If the rash of FA WR signings in the first week said anything it said that WRs are in high demand. Some of these guys could go early to teams that wanted a WR in FA and missed out. We are one of those teams.
  13. Awesome problem to have. We filled some big holes in FA. We have the draft and more FA when people get cut due to how a teams draft went or salary cap issues to save money. We do know we went after CB and WR in FA. Those are likely top of the list. Buddy was looking for starters in FA. Maybe he will look for starters in the draft instead?
  14. I wouldn't be pissed if we got Hill but it would be out of character for Buddy I would say. He could be the best of them all in 3 years. Depending on how we brought him along maybe even year 1.
  15. I don't see how we can right now. A lot of things change and players do fly up the boards as the draft approaches but I still don't think we are looking at this guy at #10. I would rather get somebody to play OLB for us if the right guy is there. I hate that this is even coming out of my mouth but a trade back would be awesome. If Buddy thinks we are set at certain positions I would love to see Whitney Mercilus and Stephen Hill drafted on what they could be. So far it doesn't seem that Buddy is big on gambles and just makes solid picks that have a good chance of panning out.
  16. If he is a one trick pony I really like the one trick he does which is come down with balls, sometimes one handed, that our current WR don't do. PLEASE forgive the comparison but you don't have a Calvin Johnson, Randy Moss style big WR run crossing routes too much. You let them do what they do and let your other guys work underneath them. As soon as an underneath route is jumped and this guy has single coverage deep you throw it as far as you can and he goes up and makes the one handed grab. Do that once or twice a game and it changes how the defense plays the underneath stuff.
  17. His measureables make him a superior athlete in the NFL as well. What I liked is that he caught balls. We don't have a single guy on the roster that can go up and get a ball like the ones he seemed to get regularly for how little he was passed to. SJ does his best but he works off of separation not leaping ability and pure speed. The good teams have multiple guys that can do what this kid does. I'm with ya. I'd love to have this guy on our team I just don't love the idea of getting him at #10. Floyd is more of a known commodity good because of his larger body of work and bad because of the DUI stuff. Floyd has some good measureables too but he doesn't have this guys physical gifts. No chance in hell he is around that long.
  18. From what I hear GT's QB was very sub standard and they barely passed the ball.
  19. ...not to mention his profile on www.nfl.com/combine says he is also a good blocker no doubt from being in an option system and blocking a lot.
  20. Can these 4-5 guys beat physical NFL DBs? He's built like Randy Moss. 6'4", 215lbs, 4.36(40), 39.5" (vertical), 11'1" (broad jump). Can any of these 4-5 guys go up and get balls high in the air? Can they do it with one hand? I don't think this guy can be dismissed and has the "potential" to end up being the best NFL WR in this years bunch regardless of draft ranking.
  21. That is the problem. We would get roasted for potentially making a "Raiders" pick if we took this guy at 10 but I want him on our team and he won't be there in the 2nd. In some combine footage they compare Hill to Demarius Thomas of the Broncos and Calvin Johnson. I just think this guy is a talent but don't know how we get him unless we "reach" at #10. Calling a pick a reach only has relevance to the draft. Once they are on the team their play should be judged on it's own merit. If a guy turns out to be just an above average role player he is blasted because he was picked too high like Whitner. If he Turns out to be a JPP you look like a genius. Too small and too slow.
  22. This guy doesn't have a huge body of work but his highlights are sick. You can't teach that stuff. Many say his measureables will put him in the first round. #10 is too high..#42 is too low. REALLY? That is great to hear! I'm glad that he is on our radar. We would get blasted for reaching. Although he is a gamble this kid looks special. I'm so interested I even want to consider trade down scenarios now...LOL.
  23. This guy is from GT and was in an option based system that didn't pass much and didn't have a great QB. That being said. After hearing about his stellar combine performance, a few weeks later I decided to look for some video on the guy. What I found was quite surprising. Does anyone know anything about this kid besides him blowing up the combine? His measureables are awesome and in the highlights I'm seeing the guy looks like he could be something special. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1kQWb4NXvJc&feature=fvwrel
