  1. Excellent post. These are great rules to go by. For myself it is usually a little simpler. If the people in front of me stand, I stand. If they sit, I sit. If it turns out I am standing the whole game, so be it. The only exception is when there is a big play I automatically jump up too and as someone else on this board posted I tend to also do this even from my couch. I don't see why this should bother people so much. And I agree with another poster that it is even more annoying to hear people yelling for other people to sit down. Every time I hear that I think to myself "Have you ever been to a sporting event/concert before in your life?" That is the way it goes for these events so if you don't like it the no-brainer is just stay home.
  2. All very good arguments. Please pass them to RW ASAP.
  3. It's not really bashing. Just observations. Maybe our talent just absolutely sucks, but it seems like the patriots are always able to find the one weak spot and hammer the hell out of it where as the Bills seem to run the same offense and defense every week no matter what.
  4. Shanahan wouldn't be my first choice either, but like you said anyone compared to DJ..... I would prefer someone more in your face too. Someone who gets crazy fired up on the sidelines. Cowher would be perfect IMO, but I am sure he is waaay out of Buffalo's price range.
  5. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mike_Shanahan...coaching_record Looks like 4 times since 99 with a couple 3rd place 9-7's thrown in there. Go back a little farther and you have the superbowls too. I am not saying he would be a savior because he is a g0d among coaches. Just that it would be nice to have someone come in with a proven record of success rather than no resume or one loaded with mediocrity.
  6. Exactly what I am thinking. It seems like he is going to just keep trying to win the coach lottery on rookies or has-beens. Shanahan would be great though. Maybe as Wilson gets up in age he thinks why not break the bank and just go for it one time....? Probably just a fantasy though.
  7. Seems like every year all the Bills fans I know, at least the last decade, start talking about who the Bills could possibly bring in next year to replace the current dud. Names like Cowher and Parcells and others of that caliber are always coming up in these discussions. A lot of times, especially with Cowher, it seems like a great idea and exactly what the Bills need to seriously make an attempt at turning this thing around. But based on Wilson's track record it seems he would never be willing to part with the money it would take to bring someone high profile like that in to coach the team. My question is does anyone out there really think it is possible that maybe in his late age he will be open to dropping some serious coin on an awesome coach? Or are we always going to have a rookie head coach or middle tier guy, and if so who would that be?
  8. If it was our rookie corner covering Moss you know that Bellicheat would find a way to exploit that all game. But for some reason I see DJ and Schonert not bothering to take advantage of this at all.
  9. It does seem ridiculous for the rookies to get paid more than a lot of vets for having done absolutely nothing as a pro. However the union seems to be starting to get behind a rookie wage scale lately. That is a good sign that something along those lines will be implemented in the near future. Hopefully this is one of the last seasons we as fans have to deal with this nonsense.
  10. 33 days, 8 hours, and 26 minutes until we get to watch the Bills kickin' a55 for real. ( Yes I have a countdown timer add-on for Firefox )
  11. That's brilliant. Play as predictable and 5hitty as the Bills of old all preseason and then come out Sept. 14th looking like the completely new and awesome Bills we all hope they can be. Bellicheat won't know what hit him. Maybe DJ is a lot smarter than everyone gives him credit for?
  12. I think part of the reason he is holding out could be that deep down he knows this is true and figures he better get the best first deal possible seeing there likely won't be a second one. I really hope that isn't true though because the world of Bills fans know we need a pass rush as much as anything on the team.... but he reminds me way too much of Flowers for some reason.
  13. Those are all decent arguments that you listed for us. Seems to me though that continuing to be Bills fans and voluntarily drinking the kool-aid on a regular basis is what makes us unique as fans. We love to hate the moves out management continues to make and we love to suffer the heart breaking losses year after year whether we admit it or not. I mean how fun would it be if the Bills just won all the time and completely dominated everyone every week......? Wait a minute.... What am I saying, that would be awesome. Oh well, we have to eventually start kicking a55.... right?
  14. Excellent reminder of big part of the Bills organization that seems to be way behind the rest of the NFL. Is there a Jills message board somewhere we can post this to? Just to maybe give our cheerleading squad a good benchmark to reach for...... ;o)
  15. In theory I like the idea of starting out the second half with the ball because if you can end the 1st half with the ball you have an opportunity to score twice without the opponent touching it. That being said though you make a good point. With the Bills special teams being their main strength and that defensive statistic you quoted, it does seem silly for DJ to continue to do that.
  16. Nice description of that nightmare.... now I am pi55ed off again too. That was definitely the worst one for me last season. My Time Warner remote control took some serious abuse that afternoon.
  17. That is the best idea I have read on the boards in weeks.
  18. "I could care less" and "irregardless" People say these all the time, but neither make any sense. Drives me crazy.
  19. No issue with it at all. With their position on the field, and the fact they had the back-up punter in the game, April should have had the guys more aware of the possibility. So if anything it is a good preseason reminder for our special teams to pay closer attention and play situational football once the regular season rolls around.
  20. That's awesome to hear. I have tickets for the Buffalo show in October. Was the opening band any good?
  21. Seriously? Not sure how much you watch football but good preseason records almost never correlate with superbowl championships.
  22. They'll get another shot at these guys in November so I would rather have the players save that a55 kicking revenge for a game that counts.
  23. I agree it would make them less worn down using the clock that way therefore the "no-huddle will kill our defense" argument doesn't make sense. I was just saying that the defense has traditionally been worn down come the 4th quarter anyway these past few years so would likely still be beat up come the end of the game this season anyway. -See Bills Defense 4th Quarter Rushing Stats-
  24. I would agree with this 100% in the regular season..... But in pre-season I think the number one goal is to get your starters a little game tested and then evaluate the bubble talent. Winning the game should definitely be the least important thing for a coach until the real games start.
  25. That's true. I noticed a couple times when Trent was still in the game that he ran the play clock down to almost zero. If that is the norm in the regular season I suppose we can expect the Bill's D to be just as run down and pushed around in the 4th as always.
