  1. I can't wait for this season to begin. We will finally be able to see this football team take big strides in the right direction. I feel like the Nix-Whailey system is what we have needed for 5-7 years now. A running team with a tough style of play is Buffalo's style. Dare I say 8-8 next season and the playoffs in 2011. GO BILLS!!!

Very excited for the operner, esp. against the Dolphins! I like the prediction. I'm seeing anywhere from 6-10 to 8-8, playoffs in 2011.

  2. Fans that don't like the yankees always say that "they buy the championships", but those same fans would have loved to have had Steinbrenner as their team's owner. RIP George.

Not a Yankees fan but I agree. George played by the rules, as flawed and terrible as they are in baseball.

  3. This is one of the most unreal things I've ever seen in the history of pro sports

He has to do something to try to life the spirits of the Cleveland fans. LBJ really screwed them by waiting so long to make up his mind while other FA's were snatched up. Imagine if Jim Kelly grew up in Buffalo, and decided after a while to join the Redskins (or any other team) because he wanted to play behind their nasty O-line. That's how angry Cleveland fans are right now.

  4. What a dumb comparison. Poz has been a 4-3 MLB and Woodley is a 3-4 OLB. Woodley is mainly a pass rusher who plays for one of the greatest DCs and most aggresive defenses in the NFL. Poz played in a 4-3 Cover 2. Stupid comparison but given the source, I'm not surprised.

+1 . Put Poz on the Steelers w/ Dick L. instead of Dick Jauron and watch what happens. Poz is a great player. I don't understand the mindless criticisms of him.

  5. Believe it or not, there are a few of us here. I think there's a Bills bar in Shadyside--Buffalo Blues--and one now up in Wexford (Ale House). I live out near Fox Chapel, but am moving soon to the North Hills. Where are you?

I live in the N. Hills. Are you serious, the Ale House is a Bills bar?!?!

  6. The prime example of whats wrong with professional sports, and why there may be no NFL next year.

Guy just made 34 million dollars in 13 months and now he want to be traded. Shut up and do what you are asked and stop being a little sally about it.

+1. You can't pull this crap in other jobs. And other jobs don't pay that $$.

  7. I love how people bash Whitner on this board.

It is not his fault for being drafted number 8 overall, it was a dumb move by our then F.O., yet all the blame falls on him.

He may not be the best player at his position but hes a damn good leader and one of the only guys to show any type of emotion last year(Crying after a heartbreaking loss, takling the Oakland receiver in the endzone for showboating). Not to mention one of the nicest, down to earth football players you will ever meet, and a great community guy, no thug.

Plus do people actually stop and think that this will have a negative effect on free agency, or any player signing with the Bills in teh future. If he goes somewhere else, and a player from his new team is coming for a visit here and Donte is asked about his time here, the first things that will come up, the disrecpect the fans showed him.

People need to stop and think, or atlesast show a little respect. Just my $.50

Agreed. He's a good player. Worth the number 8 pick, perhpas not, but not his fault. He always puts his 100% in, and like you said, actually appears to care about winning--which is amazing when Dick Jauron is your coach. I'm looking forward to seeing what this team does w/ a real HC. And, it's not like he pulled a Santonio Holmes and basically told all the fans to go f' off.

  8. "it could also relate to coaching. not all talent necessarily displays itself, especially in the early years of either the coaches or the player

bad coaching can damage productive players, just saying ..."

Very well said, and I am in complete agreement!!!!

Or a double whammy. Bad drafting + bad coaching.

  9. Yep.. I love Bills Football so much my invoices are mailed to Orlando (where I live)........ and I fly to Buffalo for games

    GO BILLS!!

Do you go up for every game? That's intense! Even one game from Orlando is intense. You must have a lot of frequent flyer miles!

  10. Hell yes! I've been thinking this but couldn't have said it any better. I drive 3.5 hours to get to the Ralph every damn Sunday and look forward to it. I won't stop coming and nobody else should stop either. I would rather they suck than not have them.

+1. I drive 3 hrs each way to watch. I'm critical a bunch about this team, but we are much better w/ the team than without.

  11. Anybody that does see Poz as one of the best ILBs dropping into pass coverage and fast is blinded the color of his skin. Poz is very fast and one of best tacklers in the NFL. Use objective observations and anyone can see this.

Poz is a beast. The Bills D overall was not bad last year. They were on the feild for way too long. If we have some offsnese to help them out this year look for the D to be a top 15 to top 10 D. And leading that D is.....POZ!!!

  12. I don't any meaningful to back this other then a gut feeling and that not this year, but in the future this guy is gonna be the man. He just looks the part.

Plus it's the off season I'm looking for things to be hopeful about, and this is my bold projection.

    Go Bills

    Pro Bowl!

  14. Don't think any of the experience LB's will be cut, in a 3-4 you need LB's and we are just ramping up in that area with that being said Mitchell, Poz and Ellison are soft. We need tough players at the ILB spot and we don't have them. I could easily see all of them cut by the end of next season.

I'm sure there is a blogger that will produce stats that states that our LB's produce more than Ray Lewis but these guys are pansies as a unit.

It seems as though we will have more size on the line hopefully that will help.

I believe Chan will give everyone a fair chance.

Hey, those guys, particularly Poz, are not soft. Also, our inside linebackers have had to contend with a terrible D-line for the past few seasons. Playing inside linebacker with a terrible D line is a bit like playing QB with a bad O-line.
